Your mum and dad are very special humble hard working respectable people I admire your old man he a solid grafter a real family hard working man who looks after and stands by his own , nice touch getting bailer and doing with him top man chris , get it all painted up same as tractor will look a million books , josh come on nanny get bailing 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Chris, clean the bale chamber with a flap wheel so it’s shiny not rusty, puts too much pressure in the bales causing your shear bolt to blow constantly.
Brilliant, I’m still loving your channel, love the diversity and the authenticity- your as real and down to earth as anyone and a bloody nice bloke too 👍👍👍👍👍👍
The star wheel rotates and then trips the knotters. There are adjuster bolts @ 14:00 on the side of the chamber, slacken them and it should free the ram. The grease on the knotters has probably saved them. Clean all the grease off and you'll see the grease nipples.
Am 64 I used to go to my uncles farm every summer as a kid and he'd have me bailing for days. The sound of yours banging and shaking took me back, I was always breaking the shear bolt in my enthusiasm and constantly sharpening the knives that cut the string, real string not the plastic rubbish 😂 Must be over 30 years now since I used a small bailer
Great entertainment. it's marvellous to see this old machine working after being stood in a field for all those years!!! The old car looks like an 1800, they were badged as Austin and Morris with a luxury Wolseley Version.
Where I used to work we had a 1948 red Ferguson tractor with a canvas roof.Once left it a year turned the key and it started first time .bloody good machines !!! .Keep up the good work!!.Have a great weekend.
I predict expensive parts prices, knotter bother, bearings not bearing & timing barely being in time... plus broken bales coming out its backside... :-) There's no hardship like knackered baler hardship.
Told ya to get a wagon and grab to get the bailer. Great job, you all worked well to get it going. Grandad looked a dab hand at loading it with the pitchfork. You’ll have to get it all restored then you can get yourself a beaver tail to take the bailer and the tractor to all these old farming shows. Tow a caravan behind the truck the Kids would love it. Great video Chris
26:15 The way the plunger stopped so suddenly each time it breaks a shear bolt is very unusual. They don't normally stop so violently. I wonder is the ram stop (20:20) moving out of place and stopping the plunger? It's only meant to move when the pins are up in the knotter, but did the retaining spring break at 21:05 allowing it to drift up?
Chris, 5:56 that valve/rocker cover looks like the Morris/Austin type used 60s 70s, the bonnet scoop added 1/8 more hp to the already huge 5 hp engine hahahah
@@Professional-struggleryour very welcome young chap 😁 I'm glad I got pointed too this channel when I was in shit streek my self !! I must say I'm hooked currently watched 106 video while on holiday fecking love it !
Brilliant if you ever get a quiet moment I know a lot of farmers that would take you on with your baler and tractor set up it could be lucrative for you, love the way everyone gets involved
Chris, you've finally found the ideal machine for a professional struggler 👍 This should keep you quiet for all of this coming winter to get it working properly 😎
That machine you have bought looks really good it looks well worth the £500 you paid for it you looked really happy and excited when you where bailing Chris mate bet you can’t wait for next year to use it more keep up the great videos mate can’t wait to see your next struggle.
Awesome content Josh is a proper laugh a minute, congratulations on the baler. You should sort her over the winter, she runs well for been stood so long.
My 1st car was a k reg Morris 1800 similar to the one you were looking at. Them fergie's have a ground PTO , if you push the lever the other way it will turn the PTO when you move the tractor. So you can turn the machine nice and slow, also it'll reverse a machine when you back up. Used to be handy for unblocking a spud harvester. 👍
Brilliant Chris to see you bring that old bailer bk to life well ✔️ done , another great video. The Austin maxi 1700 is worth working on if the sills an floor arnt rusted our I know a old bloke who's got one 👍🏻nice ald classic.
Fantastic video Chris really in joyed it, now you've got a baler you could use the won you made to bale all the Fosters can ha, ha, keep up the struggle Chris 👀👍👍😊
hiya chris that car you dont know looks like an austin 1800. they had transverse 1800 engines and hydrolastic suspension. they were built like tanks.used to tow my bangers to the track. yeh it is.......🤓
Your baler, the piece like spiral also clicks, then it register a bale on the clock for amount of bales done in a day, the roller wheel is the packer and compaction of bale, when pick up takes in hay/straw the pinion puller 2 prong on top pulls it into the compaction chamber, needle pins on the bottom of baler where twine is threaded into, best of luck, on the repairs, real workers machine, Michael power,, IRELAND [EIRE]
Another great video Chris. The only problem I can't see is the price of the baler & cost of the sheer bolts it's gonna be about £200 a bale😂 your dad's bale looked perfect
5.03 I reckon that's a very rare Lancia - if you opened the rear side doors you might find it has no B post. Worth a bit. The Maxi should be good with the original Ziebart rustproofing sticker in the rear window. Don't forget PTO guards on the baler.
It's very rare to see a Austin maxi that clean they used to rot really bad so not many around but can't see it being worth alot most Austin cars back in the day was not much good the minis was the best that bailer will be fine when you clean it up service it can't beat old stuff built to last mate
You tried lubrication with cider , if it don't work at least you can have a laughs after and Josh could sneeze, fart and shit hiself simultaneously and still not die , love and hugs from the Somerset Steeplejack 😅

its an Austin 1800 nicknamed land crab.
That's what we called em😂 fcukin shit machines 😂😂😂
Austin 1800 and maxi are two different cars but look very similar. 1800 was Land crab. Only know this because my boss just sold rally version of 1800.

Better not reverse the baler as it might damage them knotters.
Meant to say reverse the mechanism with the PTO and not just backing up. 🙈😂😂
