Dont keep your grip too tight and let your hips flex with the bike. You can go 50+ mph over 5" rocks no problem, its crazy
I watched this once a while back but had to revisit it since I just added a pair of XT225s to the stable. It will be fun to see how they compare to the TWs on the trails.
Cool! I look forward to your comparison. People ask me that all of the time, but I don't ride the XT on the trails. It is set up for my buddy with aftermarket suspension. He is 6'1", I am 5'5".
Two bikes I'm interested in. Be interested to know your thoughts. That looked like it was getting pretty gnarly. It was, probably, pretty steep but, I think, the GoPro flattens it out somewhat. Where's Bret Takcs when you need him!!
Did you change your rear sprocket? I put a bigger one on the back tire. Really helps climbing. And for anyone who doesn't know Idaho is steep terrain!!! Not an easy trail. I think most people don't know about riding in the mountains. Totally different.

Sorry I just stumbled across this and new to the channel. First off that scenery is beautiful and that track is gnarly. But did you attack that hill with a prosthetic leg? I thought I saw a glimps after you laid it down. If I am incorrect I apologise but if I’m right props to you bro you tackled this challenge like a f@#!ing boss!!!
I can see this happening to me in the future. My friend just picked up a Gen 1 KLR650, I just put 500 on a new TW whenever they get put out to the dealerships. We both have street skills but he's never really ridden off road. Me I beasted a DR650 all over the place, many places I should not of. But I don't like myself so I took it on single track like that. Have you tried airing down the Dubs tires, does it help? Aside from they being DEATHWINGS.
The stock rear tire has always been enough for me. The front is fine for pavement, but should be swapped for off-road in my opinion. I went with the trials type tread of the Shinko 241. The Pirelli MT21 is similar. Yeah, I air down to about 10-12 in the front and 8-10 in the rear off-road. It helps a bunch.
I'm ashamed to say that I haven't done much riding on my TW200. Mostly on grassy hilly fields, and somewhat hilly gravel roads. I have a deathwing front tire and I haven't had reason to change it. So maybe if I were a faster rider, It would be a problem. But I do better on my TW200 on a steep gravel road than I do on my XT225, for whatever that's worth.
At about 2:30 I would have said yeeeaaah, NO. Airlift my bike and send me a donkey! Honestly though, which one do you guys think is better for this terrain? I have both and plan to make a TW225 6spd.

@@LeisureTimeLarrythis video just happened to come back into my feed so I clicked on it. But TH-cam didn't notify me that you had responded. I come to these comment sections hoping to learn something, in spite of my ignorance as I haven't done much riding off-road. I am fortunate however to live close to Skyline Drive, plenty of twisty mountain roads, gravel roads galore traversing the foothills, and 10 acres at one property and eight and a half at the other where I can ride on fields and through the woods on my own private property. So I thought I'd give it a gander. I have a TTR 90 TTR 125, CT110, TW200, XT225 x 2, DR 350, DR650, and an F650 GS DAKAR. 😛
@@papatorr3669 No, I was making a little joke, which LTL recognized as one can see from his initial reply. Lighten up, Francis.
