    As a skater who started on 3x110s, I can definitely say that the difference in ease of skating fast is tremendous compared to my 4x80s. I also find that the 3x110s feel much more comfortable when powerstopping due to the greater angle I can get on the wheels without clipping the boot on the ground.

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the angles can be more extreme and they roll smoother for sure. The trade off for me is a slight loss in agility perhaps and not quite as quick on narrower paths.

      @@RichHayterSkater Absolutely, I find myself taking longer strides, perhaps because of the slightly longer reach I get with the larger wheel diameter. I find the large wheels much better for city skating though!

    Just like there was the original Xbox and the Xbox 360, now we have the Rich Hayter Skater 360, lol. Lovin' the new footage! I totally agree on the "feels like cheating" aspect of bigger wheels. I felt the same way when I went to 4x100. You feel like you're not working as hard or burning as many calories. However... that "cruisability" and ease of getting up to high speeds is utterly addictive.

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha! Yeah, have still a ton of older footage to publish before I go full on 360!
      Not sure what it’ll be like going back to 4x80mm, just know I’m really enjoying these bigger wheels! 😁

    Thanks for the recommendation Rich. The Ennui ST Footies ankle supports arrived from SkatePro Denmark today. No extra tax duties thank goodness. Very good design and neoprene fabric. Very tight fitting mind you. They’ll be useful for my Ski Boots as well as the Oxelo M900 skates.

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, they loosen up a bit so don’t worry too much. The only issue I’ve had has been that some of the stitching has begun to fray, but they’re still working well for me. 👍

    Hey, great vids and I'm glad I found you guys before jumping into inline skating. Are mf500 aftermarket parts available yet? , and for a complete newbie would you recommend the mf900s or mf500s. Feedback appreciated and Thanks for the concise reviews and chill flows bro. :D

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Dude!
      I think you can get some aftermarket parts like wheels, bearings, brakes, etc, check Decathlon for more info.
      As a complete beginner I'd recommend the MF500 over the 900 purely because 4x80 is an easier setup to learn on.

    I think big wheels good for distance I gave them up cause the spots I go are just local parks . May try some again someday 😉 especially since your rolling em can't let you outrun me now

      Ha!! Those big wheels are defo starting to feel comfy! 😂

    What is the quality of the wheels like? The roads you were skating looked like quite a new surface (going by how vivid the road markings are)
    nice flow.
    All the best

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, most of roads have been resurfaced and feel great! The wheels seem decent so far; will need to wait and see how they last.

    First of all: Great video!
    Second: How is the size? I want to order these but don't know if I should get one or two sizes bigger.

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! 👍
      I’d recommend trying them on if there’s a Decathlon nearby?
      Mine are a half-size up; they don’t make them in EU43/UK9, which is usually my size, so I ordered EU44/UK9.5, and they fit me fine. So, I’d probably order up but maybe just one size.

      @@RichHayterSkater Thanx for the response. I've got the skates today. Ordered them one size up and they fit great. Didn't skate with them yet because it's really wet outside. Normally i don't care if the roads are wet but i've never skate on 110's before. My last skate were the Rollerblade Macroblade 90 (Really good skate). Can't wait to try them out.

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! I hope you enjoy them!
      I’d wait until it’s dry - skating in the wet is never the same.
      Rolling those larger wheels felt quite different at first, but I adapted quicker than I thought, and was surprised how much I now enjoy it. I haven’t rolled anything else since! 👍😁

    • @danielsan0912
      @danielsan0912 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RichHayterSkater So, i used them 3 times now. (it was dry) And it was exactly like the title of your video. Smooth and Quick! The larger wheels felt indeed quite different at first but now it's smooth.
      This is an amazing skate for the price, i don't have any pressure points around my ankle and i find them very comfortable. I have one pressure point on my right foot, but i have that with all skates.
      The only thing i don't like is the upper strap, it is a little bit clumsy and very stif. But for the price i can't really complain about that.
      Your video is one of the reason i bought the skates and they exceeded my expectations.
      Thank you and also for the tips you gave to me. Looking forward to your next video's.
      Cheers.

      Hey! I am so glad you purchased a set of MF900s and are enjoying them. If my experience is anything to go by, you will grow to love these skates even more with time.
      Happy rolling! 😁

    I prefer using bigger wheels 100-110mm especially when you encounter debris on the road. Pebbles rocks etc

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure make rolling the rough a lot easier! 😁

  • @liorkestenberg453

    how are your ankles feeling about the base height? I'm debating whether I should take these or the MF500 Knowing that my ankles are very flexible and tend to collapse inwards. Can the frames be aligned on these at all?

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No issues whatsoever with a lack of support, even with the additional height. And yes, the frames can be fully adjusted, front/back and laterally. I’ve adjusted mine so that the frames sit closer to my instep.
      If this is your first set of skates I’d opt for the MF500 as I personally feel a smaller wheel is easier to learn on. But if you can skate confidently already then you’re likely to one these. 👍

      @@RichHayterSkater thank you! I've skated for a while but coming back to it. I've had a fila nine100 with 4x100mm wheels so not a stranger to the higher wheel feel. I'm now thinking maybe I should go with the mf500 and actually try to mount the 195mm filla frame when I go for long distance skates...

    Nice run. Im just wonder if bigger wheels are better on bricks/ paving ground?

    • @lukemwill99
      @lukemwill99 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The larger wheels generally roll better over rougher ground such as bricks vs smooth tarmac, yes!

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, just as Luke said, they roll better over rougher surfaces. Just watch the wheels don’t get caught in the cracks!

    • @NiekkieNick
      @NiekkieNick 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! They will run smoother then 80mm wheels. Also you will get more speed with 110mm wheels.

    How do you recommend to rotate the wheels on these skates?

    • @RichHayterSkater
      @RichHayterSkater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t rotated them yet just flipped them around to even out the edge wear. I’ll probably just eyeball them and put the smallest on the front and the largest at the back.
      I don’t follow a particular system of wheel rotation.
