Being at sea is like the crest and trough of the waves we sail over, up one second and down the next. This passage, like all great adventures, has it’s trying moments.
We’re in French Polynesia, sailing across the pacific ocean (again) for the Tuamotus. Today is Jason’s birthday. Nikki planned to bake up a storm, but Mother Nature beat her to it.

We ask for the rain, but the Sun burst through. We hope for the Sun to appear, but the rain trickles down. Such is life, we don't always get what we wish for. Be brave enough to accept what life deals us and be courages enough to face it. The reality is, there are somethings in life that is totally out of our control. We just do our best.... Thank you for showing a realistic view of cruising. Too many TH-cam channels show cruising as all fun and games. You show the boredom, the frustration, and the ongoing challenges. I noticed the sound quality is excellent and you can really hear the noise of the boat through the water. Take care.
I've said the same thing in the past with trucking videos. Many just show all the cookies and cream of driving and leave out the part of bad weather. heavy traffic, flat tires, crowded truck stops, etc. it's always nice to see the real life part of something and not appear to just be a sales ad for something.
Yea, Nici shows the hardships of sailing a big cat in the South Pacific. That plate of cookies wouldn't be sitting on the counter so nice if it was a monohull. And that bowl of fruit would be playing bumper pool.
Agree I always thought I wanted to sail around the world, but after watching them sail the oceans I say no way! It would be easier with another couple to share the work and watches, but that is a small boat for 4 people to get along for that period of time. So I will enjoy watching them do the sailing.

Certainly a big Happy Birthday to Jason!! I loved seeing the realities of sailing...a pitching boat, loss of appetite, but what takes the cake was the line snapping. The little "toot" of surprise and the look of wonderment had to be watched a dozen times! You actually looked a little like Audrey Hepburn! Super cute!

I don't understand why everyone is making comments about the safety harnesses ? It's so frustrating seeing that crap while enjoying another top notch video ... not even in the middle of the ocean can you get far enough away from a society where everyone thinks their input means anything

Another great job on the filming and editing...I always feel like I am right there as well!! I agree that the ocean is 'special' when the rain squalls come, the sea goes all glassy and it's just a pleasure to be out there at that time! I am a pretty keen surfer and just love that glassy ocean and being part of it.
Careful of the rolling and pitching of the boat in choppy seas, hate to see or hear that one of you has gone overboard, without a life jacket....!

Nikki A trick old hands in Northern Australia use for catching Kingfish and so forth on handlines is to attach a bit of rubber from an inner tube between the line and a solid mount like a jetty or part of a vessel to absorb the initial shock when a big one strikes.
In the case of the fish which was only on for a few moments however I suspect that only a steel trace might have kept it on longer as it probably had more teeth than a chain-saw and they were probably sharper as well.

🎉🎂🍹🎶🎈 I hope by now your feeling up to celebrating. Have you tried wearing accupressure wrist bands when seas get rough to counteract motion sickness? I noticed them in a drugstore, likely they're available on-line. Bonine's the least drowsy-making over-the-counter remedy, I learned from a tallship's captain after Dramamine made me too drowsy to enjoy the sail. I hope you find relief and a remedy that works to best enjoy bad weather days. Celebrate all month long 🦈🌴🐢

Miss Hepburn! I used a " cortisone " cream for a rash similar to yours! It healed very quickly with several applications!
