I’ve been to Kentucky several times and been to mammoth caves. I helped direct people out of the cave with the guide we had. I only around 6 years old. We had fun too going through the cave. How was the bourbon? Michigan here you come. You’ll love it there. Hope you have fun. Enjoy the Upper Peninsula. The people there are calmed Uppers. People like me from lower U.P. are called trolls. They might tell you that while you are there. Have a great week and see you next week.
Thanks for mentioning overcoming claustrophobia in the caves! That was my thought, especially when you turned out the lights. The caves looked really cool. I’ve been through the western part of KY a bunch of time but haven’t explored the state. Appreciate the tour!
We like Harvest Hosts and will be at one in a few weeks. They always add a touch of adventure and exploring. Not as many up here in 🇨🇦but they are around.
Oh the caves. Yes, it's challenging for me. I have been in a few, but it certainly isn't my choice activity. Just freaks me out. I do my best to stay calm though and manage to not panic. My husband is a whiskey drinker, well, not a daily activity mind you, but loves a good whiskey. I'm not into spirits, oh fib, I enjoy an Ouzo with my greek food and very occasionally an Irish Cream, especially in coffee. The tours were most interesting and quite extensive. They will have left a lingering impression I am sure. Glad you ended with a food session. It looked divine. See you next week, stay safe and keep smiling. 🍾 🥂 🥳 🇳🇱 🙋♀️ 🇳🇿
Hi Liz and Dennis! Kentucky is a beautiful state and I love the Bourbon Trail area. Looking forward to seeing Michigan. Have a great week! Oh, I'll have to try Willet's next time I'm in the area!
Your research, narrative, photography and editing are far superior to other channels. Hope you stopped at the Corvette factory in bowling Green. Happy travels!
Hi again, wanted to say thanks on the Nomad Internet tip. This was just what I was looking for. Our 1st 5week trip is in a couple of weeks and "working" and internet was the last thing I needed to finalize. Thank you!!!
When I taught reading in middle school, we read a story of a man who got caught in the cave, survived for many days as efforts were made to get him out. It didn’t happen. Since then, I can’t do caves.
Great video y’all, lots of useful information. We are still waiting on the Canadian border to open up so we can visit friends in New Brunswick. Gods speed and stay safe. Dan - Oklahoma’s Tumbleweeds
Hi Liz and Dennis. I’m so behind on watching these episodes, but I really enjoyed this one. My Son enjoys a good Bourbon and I happen to buy him a bottle of Maker’s Mark. So it was really interesting seeing the tour there. Peace and Calm. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
We are looking forward to seeing Makers Mark SO much now! Seeing the food at Willet snapped us right back there again! 🤤 It was sooo good! I might have some Early Times in the cabinet right now 🤷🏼♂️😏 🥃🥃 Can't wait to see you guys again ❣️
Right! I can't wait to get back to either of those spots again. Early Times? What happend to all top shelf bourbon you had.... 🤣 It was so nice to be able to hang with you guys! Miss yall! - Dennis
Fantastic VLOG.....great job matching your vibe and the music with the experience you showed us. Well coordinated! Can't wait to see Michigan.....its kind of weird to see you back in the US.....but its nice as well......
Nice touch with the Stranger Thing-like music when in the down under or the caves. Our travel group had a Kentucky trip planned in Sept 2020 but it was Covided. Still on our list and your video has me yearning to go as soon as possible. Cant wait for your Michigan trip - we are going later this year.
You guys are livin the life! After roadtripping from texas to colorado with our 2 yr old, man i cant wait to do it again. I would love to be a full time rver for a year! ❤️❤️❤️
You guys definitely had some great experiences in Kentucky! Although I’m claustrophobic, too, I think is really enjoy the cave exploration. I like the tutorial the host gives you during the taste testing. Food!!! That’s one of the best reasons to travel.
Maybe this week it should have been “Drink, See, RV”. 😀. We are not drinkers; however, the Makers Mark tour and distillery looked very cool and something we could be “up for”. Liked the cave adventure. Christine was agreeing with Liz about the worry of feeling claustrophobic. We are in total agreement with what you were talking about in reference to your food and knowing where it comes from. Definitely support the small, local farmer. Industrialized farming is crazy. People need to know where and how their food comes.
On our first trip through Kentucky we stopped at a distillery and have been drinking good bourbon ever since. We consider ourselves bourbon snobs now. If you see a tanker truck rolling down the highway in Kentucky, it’s probably transporting bourbon.
It actually doesn’t smell. I mean, it doesn’t smell fresh as daisies but you also won’t get out of your car and say, Yep I’m on a pig farm. Full disclosure: my brother and SIL are the pig farmers and I spend a fair amount of time on the farm.
Jeffrey, It's funny you mention this. Because I actually said how nice it smelled a bunch of times. I wish those clips would have made it into the the vlog... oh well.
😳 sorry, but I had to fast forward through that last part of the cave crawling - just cannot. Isn’t Maker’s Mark amazing? And you got to dip! I could have watched the professional dipper ladies for hours - man, they had a great system and were chatting and laughing the whole time. I think we did 6 distilleries & absolutely loved it! And I don’t even like bourbon. The HHost looks great!
🤣It's all good! Yes Maker's Mark is now my favorite distillery hands down! I wish we could have seen the dipping line but it was closed. camping at Palisades Point Pasture Pork is definitely worth the beautiful drive to through the countryside to get there. We can't say enough good things about them and their amazing property. - Dennis
The Internet you mentioned...how does that work? Do you give up your phone plans for this plan or does it work in concert with your phone plans? We won't be working while traveling 10 months of the year but we will want internet anywhere we do go and are looking for the best set up (I mean....who isn't? LOL!) Thanks for sharing the distilleries with us...it's definitely on our bucket list!
Nomad Internet would be it's own plan and will have nothing to do with your current phone plan. Glad you enjoyed the Bardstown video! Thanks for watching! - Dennis
Thanks so much for sharing we are staying at the Park in 3 weeks. Now adding Willet Distillery to our plans. Anything we should "know about" staying in the Park to make our stay better? Thx! Love your channel!
The sites are unlevel but not impossible. It's a good idea to have an extension for your shoe power cord. The hook ups can be a bit far depending on which site your in. Enjoy, Bardstown! - Dennis
