    Thanks Jerome for specifying the differences in care between temperate trees from tropical ones. A lot of western bonsai artists and youtube content creators (particularly bonsai) only focus on temperate trees. And those with tropical trees are often left out. All in all this episode is a great help for beginners to expert bonsai keepers alike. More power 👌🏼🙏🤗

    I ordered your bonsai soil through Home Depot and received it today, since there is no repotting season here in California I couldn’t wait to use it, I put on some of my trees and it looks nice specially on black pines, cork oak and olive trees..

    Hello Jerome (or Mari), I'm not sure if you know this, but just in case I'll tell you anyway. Carlos of 'Bonsai-Yeah' I believe started a fun $50 bonsai challenge on his channel, he then challenged Nigel Saunders', he then challenged Marysol of 'Frost Bite Bonsai', and she has now challenged 'We Are The Bonsai Supply.'
    I just wasn't sure if you two were aware of the challenge, but I think it would be awesome to see your attempt.
    Original video and rules are on Bonsai-Yeah's $50 bonsai challenge video.

    I recently bought a Juniperous from nursery. It's Spring here and temperature is about 28 to 30 Celsius. Today I put it in a slightly bigger pot so roots can grow and next Spring I will start on pruning and initial styling.
    I have put it under a plastic cover in shaded area since I just reported it and removed very small amount of roots.
    I covered it so the tree can pass through the stress.
    Have I done the right thing ? Or can I move it in a sunny part of .y garden ?

    you mentioned leaves burning, now sorry to be a newbie but how do you know leaves are burnt or have something else wrong with them? Do they curl? change color? what is the difference between the look of a burnt leaf compared to one that isnt getting enough water or whatever? Thanks for the video :) This might be a dumb question too but you sell all sorts of bonsai on your website but I live in Canada and cant get them across the border. Is there a way to do it? I am tired of seeing all the gorgeous trees I cant have!

    Fertilizer question….. I always hear about stopping fertilizing during July’ish just like you said. But then when repotting I always hear how slow release takes about a month to start working. I’m pretty sure I’ve even heard Jerome say this. So if you do not use cakes or fertilizer pods, and you just sprinkle it on top like you do in this video then if you stop fertilizing in mid July, then aren’t you really still fertilizing from last month?

    • @WeareTheBonsaiSupply
      @WeareTheBonsaiSupply  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Spencer, so we use quick release fertilizer that starts to release within a few days so once July rolls around the fertilizer will be gone. Now slow release coated fertilizer or organic takes longer so I would say you are correct with your statement 🙂

    • @SirSpinser
      @SirSpinser 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WeareTheBonsaiSupply great info! I actually started using the fertilizer pods recently because of this but I am still on the fence about it? I just wonder if it's getting fertz the same as if it were sprinkled throughout the entire pot, on the surface that is. I just use Osmocote myself. Maybe I should just look into TBS Fertilizers and call it a day! Thanks again for the info and the video, many of us here at NASA love your content!

    I have a 20 yr old spruce that's slowly starting to look like its dying. it gets plenty of sun water and low dose fertilizer. the only odd thing is its oozing sap on one area. no signs of infestation. i hate to loose it.

    Great tips. I have a shohin shimpaku and watered the top foliage and burned it pretty bad .its in a 6 inch well draining pot . How do i get it back to normal.? Will superthrive help it out ? • @WeareTheBonsaiSupply
      @WeareTheBonsaiSupply  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear that. I would still give it morning sun and mist the foliage twice a day. Take a larger pot with soil and set your smaller pot on top of the soil with the larger pot, this will create humidity and will help bring your tree back to health.

      Chris juniper like to dry out between watering, so the pot is a better choice, wet roots will definitely not be good for a juniper!

    Using a systemic pesticide on flowering plants can be harmful to beneficial insects and birds such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds that collect nectar from the flowers.

    • @WeareTheBonsaiSupply
