I’m so happy Giselle got more lines and was able to flow like she did in her intro video. I’ve been needing that since Black Mamba. Savage finally did her justice.
the last chorus is just ad lib after ad lib and their vocals are so powerful it's insane they're a rookie group

I will tell you something: I don't like making charts, but the rap line of this group is out of this world. The flow, the timing, the delivery...it's that group.

I will admit that both Black Mamba and Next Level were not my favorites on first listen, but they did grow on me. Savage though, I loved it right away! I think you nailed it by saying they took what worked best with those two songs and made something amazing with Savage. I am also shook right now because after listening to the album, it's easily one of my favorites, it's not my favorite album of the year, which I definitely did not expect. I'm dying to watch your reaction to it later! Iconic and Yeppi Yeppi are my favs but everything is ridiculously good. Well done Aespa, what a comeback, I'm really blown away by it!
I feel you. I immediately felll in love with Savage even though it is as experimental as any SM songs but I really love it. It's the kind of sounds that I like. (I love NCT, I love noise and weird sounds) and totally agree, I didn't necessary like Next Level but now it's my most played Kpop song of 2021. My Song of The Year of 2021 😁😁😍😍

one thing i love abt giselles rapping is that it looks so EFFORTLESS it literally seems like she just casually speaking fast and in a rhythmic tone like it’s nothing for her 😂 honestly all of them are like that when they perform it’s like ah yes i just woke up let me slay y’all real quick w this effortless talent 🥵
I really like the mini album! I love how pretty much any song that SM does in general, switches up, has new styles and beats in the middle of the songs. Creating songs with multiple styles and sounds in one song is kind of SM signature thing.
SM artist not only excels in vocals, now they can rap also. Check B sides for lit rap.

Considering the concept that they are entering the wilderness (Kwangya) to find Black Mamba,
the composer must be genius.
In addition, this song revealed that Aespa are excellent singers because I think this song is very difficult to understand and sing.
The child in me that loved magical girl anime growing up is living for the animation 🤩. This was such a great comeback, can’t wait to hear the album!

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES YES!! Aespa is seriously on another Level with their Vocals, Visuals, Dance, and their Rap is Insane just WOW, they're just absolutely INSANE! Ningning and Winter with the Vocals just WOW no joke they can definitely be one of the best Rookie Vocalists in K - Pop maybe even the best just WOW, and Giselle and Karina are absolutely crazy with the Rap and Dance just Wow and even though they are mainly Rappers they can SING like really SING and it is just Crazy SM really knows how get great Vocalists, Rappers, Dancers, and Visuals in their Groups (every K - Pop group has Insane Vocalists, Rappers, Dancers, and Visuals K - Pop is just Insane overall!) Anyways I can't wait for you to react to more Aespa such as More Music Videos, B - Sides, Live Performances, Covers, Dance Practices, Moments, and of course Ships! I can't wait for more Content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy!

I had such a rush on the first hearing that I instantly wanted to hang with them as their new best friend. It was a weird reaction to a mv. I was one of the many people who only gradually appreciated Next Level. This one I like the song right away.
I feel like Savage is a song against the antis/haters and criticism. And the lyrics seem like a continuation of the messaging/narrative of Black Mamba and Next Level. Although I felt that the belting high notes felt forced or random in the ending section , maybe it’s purposeful with the imagery in the MV where Winter is essentially shooting/“Breaking the glass ceiling”, what has been holding them back. Like those high notes/their talent w/ the help of naevis are the gun.

When you learn some of their concepts (like Kwangya or synk for example, there are more ) is about aespa going to Kwangya with naevis to face black mamba

@@wangxiao2019 I think I think the Black Mamba is the dark side and the pressures of the internet, social media, kpop/entertainment industry. The Savage lyrics mentioned how they are used to eyes being on them all the time (I think because fame/being a celebrity) and high expectations are placed on them. There are chorus lyrics that seem to double meanings too that is about Aespa challenging haters who hide behind their computers/phones and leave malicious comments. I think the bridge section is about them thanks fans for being their for them so they are able to not let malicious words/criticism bring them down

NAEVIS SACRIFICED ITSELF😭 and as was shown in the MV, they thought they had defeated the black mamba and suddenly released a "what?" which is when that amoeba appears telling us that it was the black mamba who won this battle. SM just came to SMCU and explain in one more ep and in the next comebacks about what's going to happen and probably ae-Karina can be used by bm p to harm the other ae-aespas, one thing is unquestionable, the vocals are every time more insane😍👏, it's crazy that I love so much. kisses from Brazil. 😍😍👏👏👏👏👏👏💕😍

I Think in this MV their already arrived at kwangya with help by Nævis through P.O.S and defeated black mamba, but they realize that it just hallucination, and the member got trapped in kwangya.

It felt flat to me. There were really good individual parts in the song, but as a whole, I feel that it did not reach a satisfying climax, which leaves me feeling underwhelmed.
Somehow they made the best song ever and the worst song ever at the same time

aespa is a group that I want to like, but they still haven't had a song that really connected or landed with me. Unfortunately, I kinda feel the same for Savage as well. Amongst the young bucks, I've been paying more attention to Purple Kiss and Pixy. So I suppose this is a case where I'll have to left out the fun and hope a day comes where I'll warm up to their sound. By no means am I talking down aespa or the fanbase. I think the girls are extremely talented and charming, but yeah.

I share your sentiment. The big 4 really did not attract me anymore, except for Itzy and surprisingly Twice. Key is a different story altogether, he get to do his own concept and he went out of this world! I pin my hopes more on the 4th gen groups like Purple Kiss, Hot Issue, Pixy, Stayc, etc, to get better music. Edit: Weeekly! Must not forget Weeekly!
I'm in the same boat. I did like Black Mamba right off the bat, which gave me high hopes for this group, but Next Level just, well, let's just say I wasn't a fan. Savage is interesting, in an experimental sort of way. I don't hate it, but it's not something I'd put on a playlist.
I can see where they're going. It seems to me that they are looking to go outside the box and experiment quite a bit with their music. I applaud that. If groups didn't experiment we'd be stuck listening to the same old slightly reworked sounds all the time. It's just that their last 2 titles didn't grab me. Maybe they're a bit too outside the box for my tastes.
So, yeah, when it comes to the newest batch of rookies I'm looking at Purple Kiss and Pixy.
