Controller returned with the same issues. The features of the controller are awesome and it felt really good to use, when it worked properly for the first three months. YMMV, buyer beware.

With the Edge just coming out I can’t stop thinking about and being upset that there are only two paddle buttons! I preordered the elite 1 for Xbox and have been using it for 7+ years. It’s still great, although the grip started to peel which I fixed. I recently upgraded to the series 2 and I love it. Bought a 2 year warranty to be safe since I’ve seen reports of various failure rates and know a few people that have had issues. Point is, while the Edge has some other great innovations, the lack of 4 paddles is really sticking in my craw. So, I started looking at other options, and while it overall doesn’t offer a comparable spectrum to the Edge, I just can’t forgive only two paddle buttons. For just a bit more $$, I think you just sold me on a Reflex Pro for PS5 over the Edge official pro controllers. Cheers, mate!
Just wait until the stick drift and when the hair triggers break lol. What this means is you'll need to pay for a new controller when it happens and the edge will cost $25. Your 4 paddle argument is null as it's easy to press both buttons simultaneously unless you have thin woman fingers.
i’m sorry but the whole point of it being an FPS controller is for the mouse clicks not for the adaptive, realistically who buys a FPS pro controller to use adaptive triggers? no one. 5:47 🙄
This is the best controller I've ever used, sadly the my L3 started acting as R3 after waiting a month for repair it was ok for a few weeks then the problem persisted. Love everything else about it just can't trust it.
They work properly as they are instant buttons not trigger stops, triggers stops in older scufs would stop at the earlier point of connection where are on instant, each click of the button is a full click
**read this before buying, reasonable advice** Bought this to play COD Warzone. I owned the SCUFF FPS reflex controller for 3 months before the R1 button stopped working. Clicky trigger no longer clicked and was sent to Scuff under warranty to repair. Issue was fixed and got the controller back in a little over a month. About 4 months later I started experiencing an issue with drift. Not your typical stick drift (i.e. cursor slowly moves in certain games and can be fixed using deadzone corrections) but a stick drift that literally moves what you see selected on the screen as it if you were pressing the analog stick all the way down. I am not talking just in game, even on the PS5 menu screen it randomly moved at full speed making the controller a paper weight. Add the RMA repair at this point I have had the controller for a little over 180 days and guess what the warranty period is? 180 days! Messaged Scuff to see what they could do and was told that since it was past 180 days I would have to pay for repair which would range from $20-100!
I paid $300 CAD for this product, add the potential cost of repair and it would be $400 for this controller! Let me ask you, would you do it? The product is poor quality. In addition to what I have mentioned there are plastic mold quality concerns as well as design flaws: PS5 controller have 2 plastic parts (top and bottom) that come together like a clam. The top plastic does not sit flush with the bottom. You can feel it when you run your index finger up and down along the sides. This is not the case with OEM controller. There are 4 paddles. Unfortunately the inner paddles are easily pressed by accident so if you're trying to do a jump shot and accidently hit the inner paddles as well as the outer nothing registers at all. The easy fix is to remove the inner paddles so if you're looking for 4 paddles it'll likely be unplayable. You'll have to be very careful. Here's my suggestion. I've owned OEM controller for over 30 years and NONE of them have broken like this poor quality product. WAIT and buy the PS5 Edge Controller which is the EXACT same price as the SCUFF and very likely better quality. Don't cheap out (actually not cheap, don't get ripped off) by buying a Scuff controller than has a reputation for breaking down and stick drift. You can actually replace the analog sticks modules on the Edge without having to buy an entire new controller if you experience stick drift!!! It's pretty much a guarantee that the EDGE will be better quality than SCUFF (SCUFF is essentially a knockoff) and they are the same price so there is really no point in buying this controller. Don't get ripped of like I did. I hope this helps someone.

The controller was great for me. Mine just broke from R joy stick drifting hard. For 18months this controller was great but now I’m going for the edge from sony
looks like an amazing pro controller., I'm a little skeptical why only a warranty that's 6 month (180 days).
According to SCUFs customer service I was told that 6 month is the minimum warranty period required by law for a custom product and that you are agreeing to this when you purchase the product off their website
Every one who reviews never shows hands on the back pov to show where your finger would be sitting it literally kills me makes no sense
Underrated comment man
Can you buy these? Don’t see them for sale anywhere except from eBay for like $300 or more 😑
Scuf just ordered one two days ago
if I use it for ps5 will I have a delay with the controller?
Battle Beaver is what most pros actually use in composition even when they’re sponsored by Scuff.
I hit them up for a review unit but haven’t heard back. Might buy one at some point because they look very sweet!
@Evan Mann yep the import tax is crazy
You recomend the scuff or better wait for dualsense edge?
I preordered a Dualsense Edge today! Lets see how it goes in Jan/Feb when it ships!
Wait for Edge
@@surpllux okayy
@@mar3x268 yea my scuf came in last Friday and broke after being on for 30 mins watching my friend on share play. Have to send in for repair already. Not a good sign specially with all the comments of people having all kinds of problems
Edge only has 2, not 4 rear paddles. After playing with with Elite for XB, I need 4 paddles going fwd. not sure why Sony would only add 2 😢
Yep my R2 trigger broke in under 3 months.
One of the best reviews I’ve seen so far! Can’t wait to get mine
Funny I just seen you liked this cause a year later I’m thinking about getting another 😂
@morgananstine8109 lmao oh shoot🤣 did it last a year? Any issues?
It’s still going strong! I just travel a lot with it and would like to keep one at home I beat up a lot loss lol
They need to raise the paddles about a 1/2 to make room for ring finger and pinky finger to grip the controler
I got into this controller from noisybutters and got to this video thinking about getting one
What about stick drift? I had 5 scuf before, impact(3), the stock ps4 one and the drdisrespect vantage 2, and they allll got stick drift after like 4 months, but now that i am on ps5 im thinking about a New one but not sure if it worth it
I got stick drift after 6 months with reflex , so its still possible sadly.
Every controller is going to have stick drift so don’t know what that has to do with anything
@@exot1c_dark066 real PlayStation controller doesnt have stick drif before a looooonng Time, but scuf controller, you pay a lot for, and they have stick drift a looot faster, there is my point
@@exot1c_dark066 sorry for my bad enflish
@@exot1c_dark066 i really loved all of my scuf but they dont worth the Time they work
Ok can someone help me with this problem I have with my controller my scuf face buttons and running stick stops responding sometimes is there something I’m doing wrong
Can you take out the paddles as I only use 2? Thanks great vid!
yes
No it’s not that’s cap I bought that shit break in a few weeks stick drift way worst in this controller then a actuall 60 dollar controller it looks like a premium controller from the outside witch is solid but it’s whatever that’s inside that matters. If you a kid or teenager I personally don’t recommend this controller because the only one good thing out of all the controller out there is the warranty you going to get in a point where you have to keep sending back for a brand new trust me if u don’t got the time or u can’t then don’t this controller is not for you it’s for adults mostly.
Why would adults want a shitty controller? Odd thought process
i’m hoping i can find a slim keyboard that will fit on here. my ps5 controller keyboard doesn’t fit on the reflex pro :(
In 9 months my scuf reflex pro fps has broken twice. First the L1 stopped functioning (luckily it was still under warranty) and now the R2 button has broken. I would not trust the durability of these controllers at all.
What, that is crazy. I think I am going to make an update video, I’ve been seeing a lot of comments
@@TooMuchTech I'll be here for it. I think I'll try my hand at a self repair to see if I can fix it on the cheap, but I doubt I'll pick up another scuf product 😕
It’ll be a different video, probably one you wouldn’t believe but - THE TRUTH IS I switched to keyboard and mouse PURELY for durability reasons.
Controllers; regardless of who the end point seller/vendor is - always break. ALWAYS unfortunately, they have very flawed designs so that you buy another after X amount of hours.
I’ll spare the rest for the video lol
@@TooMuchTech HAH! Ya, I was literally just thinking about that... Maybe it's time to finally get more comfortable with m/k since they seem so much more durable. Well, I'm subscribed now and I'll be keeping an eye out for that video, thanks! Have a good one!
You too! Thanks and cheers
Bro I love these reviews Keep it up
check out the controller people. they are a good alternative and i have had a ps4 version of their controller for over two years with no issues. stick drift is non existent
Can it do macros?
Just brought the Atlanta Faze Reflex Pro! Can’t wait although the delivery is looking long.
How long did it take to get?
i wish there was an option to keep the factory thumbsticks
Overall good controller the only thing i dont like aside from the price are the face buttons feel cheap.
GREAT REVIEW!!! Have you tried using lotion on your hands?
What’s lotion
Sir, great video. I am not a gamer but my son is and I am looking for a controller for him for Christmas and he just sold me. Thank you so much for your review.
Glad I could help you out! I hope he loves it
This was a great review! Have you tried any Aim or Battle beaver controllers? What are your thoughts on their paddle/button placement?
My battlebeaver took a shit fast and didn't feel good for the price. I like my scuf way more.
Just bought my self a scuf reflex pro ps5 i received it 5 days ago and i loved it bought last night it started with a right thumbstick drift permanently stays up, i mean i can’t even move it down not even for a second 😢 really disappointed, i guess im the 1 out of 100 faulty controller
Send it back!! That should not happen especially after 5 days!
Best review I've seen for scuf controllers.
I just ran into an issue when my x button stopped working and then it wouldn’t let me remap the back paddles. The scuf support said reset it but that didn’t help anything. Any ideas?
Have them replace it if it’s still new! I would nudge them hard to replace it
3 month warranty on stick drift..ddd d amm.. Guess I'll wait for mark two where you can easily swap out the stick module.. Or continue buying more ps5 controllers each black Friday
ive been searching. can you use a scuf xbox instinct on ps5?
I have bought 2 the 1st one last me 3 months..the 2nd one only 1 month i was really dissapointed with scuff but i love how the controller feels..im still debating if i should get a 3rd one..or does anybody know where i can fix them?
Bro that’s like still in your warranty period? Why would you even buy another?
It's only been 3 months and my controller has stick drift smh 🤦
Would it be pointless to get instant triggers if I use L1,R1 to shoot?
Yes
Bought 2 scuff controller's for my PS4 and both got drift within 3 months dont think I could bring myself to do it again. Over 700 hundred spent and just didn't last sent one back amd came back still broken and it was a nightmare process to do
Own three SCUF controllers and they are 90-day wonders! When you've been gaming with them for approximately 90 days, you begin to wonder which part(s) will fail?! SCUF controllers are not worth the money.
personally I dont care for the adaptive triggers so I might just get the fps version
should i buy the player pack as well or no
@@wyattwww nah it’s not worth it. I got it without the pack and just use the box as a case if you really need to
Can you remap the sticks I have big thumbs and I like my run button to be on a paddle
I think I enjoyed more your destiny gameplay. Nice controller btw
Can’t believe the baby hedgehog from over the edge now reviews scuf controllers
My reflex started with right stick drift/jumping after 7 months of moderate use. These are not made to last and they want to charge $100 +shipping for repairs. They are scam artists
Bro what, that’s insane
@@TooMuchTech yeah dude it sucks. I was so excited to treat myself to my first scuf for Christmas last year and got it in January and it started jumping all over the place in July. I take great care of my controllers as well. Really disappointed with scuf and wish that werent the case
I have it in house, working on a review soon, hopefully next week!
Just wait until the stick drift and when the hair triggers break lol. What this means is you'll need to pay for a new controller when it happens and the edge will cost $25. Your 4 paddle argument is null as it's easy to press both buttons simultaneously unless you have thin woman fingers.
Great video thanks a lot man
how good are the digital triggers
Very good for the ps5 very stiff on the xbox series
is there a way to remove the back paddles to clean it?
yes if you pull straight down on the paddles they should come off
does anyone play cod with this controller and encounter the sprint issue?
i’m sorry but the whole point of it being an FPS controller is for the mouse clicks not for the adaptive, realistically who buys a FPS pro controller to use adaptive triggers? no one. 5:47 🙄
What you suggest for cod the pro or fps
Fps I heard
This is the best controller I've ever used, sadly the my L3 started acting as R3 after waiting a month for repair it was ok for a few weeks then the problem persisted. Love everything else about it just can't trust it.
I dont blame you! that is ridiculous
Hi Daniel, you said it’s Best controller you used, then immediately talk about how horrible it is? Wow😅
@@AJCoReTV Yes, when it worked as it should it was awesome. Sadly, my R3 kept crapping out.
miss the PlayStation button layout.
Great review as always!
Do you know if the Instant Triggers work with everything in Destiny 2? Some trigger stops won't make your sparrow or vehicle boost or fire.
They work properly as they are instant buttons not trigger stops, triggers stops in older scufs would stop at the earlier point of connection where are on instant, each click of the button is a full click
@@ipodhackworld Greatly appreciate the response. Hard to find an exact answer on this
How is this a long term review if you’ve only had it for 4 months ?
😐 that’s a lot longer than a week lol
I couldn’t help but notice even with those 4 paddles you were still pressing the face buttons 😂
**read this before buying, reasonable advice**
Bought this to play COD Warzone.
In addition to what I have mentioned there are plastic mold quality concerns as well as design flaws:
PS5 controller have 2 plastic parts (top and bottom) that come together like a clam.
My remote broke in 30 minutes lol
@@surpllux lucky for you it’s still under warranty right? Are you able to return? The edge is coming out soon.
@@DC-xe9xw oh without a doubt, it just came in Friday. I’m most likely going to return it for the DualSense, but I’m not gonna lie part of me wants to keep it
Are you aware the the Edge only comes with 2, not 4 rear paddles?
@@AJCoReTV yes I don’t need 4 paddles anyway only 2
do you have to play with the cable connected to the console? or can I also play without cable?
you can play without cable
Remember the days when controllers lasted at least a year?
dude i’ve been watching controller reviews from you a lot yesterday now the scuff ps5 controller w
Haha thank you!
@@TooMuchTech I’ve been watching you’re videos on the razer controllers are they worth it vs other brands is the “mechanical controller” part worth it I’m still debating
The new razer one the Wolverine ultimate is good, probably the best for the price - but honestly the Scuf instinct is better and more comfortable IMO, I linked the review in the description as well!
Great video by the way
A fellow destiny 2 enjoyer I see!
Ps4 scuff by far the most comfortable. But quality wise was dog shit . Controller last 3 moths before it start acting up
Is the website is legit
Destiny 2 ftw! Nice video!
I Just got the Reflex
i regret buying my scuff
Bought a scuf instinct pro it got stick drift within 8 months now I know why they say 6 month warranty lol scammers imo never buying a scuf product again
That is terrible honestly. Stick drift is definitely systemic from Microsoft and Sony but I’m just surprised any 3rd party company hasn’t come up with a way to fight it and cover it
NICE VIDEO !!!
Scuf is terrible. I've owned three of their controllers and they all wore out between six months to a year. Their customer service is the worst of any tech gaming company I've bought from. I bought an Xbox Elite controller that has lasted me three years so far with zero problems and will never look back. I want to get a controller with back paddles for the PS5 but I'm just gonna get the extremerate setup becasuse Scufs are absurdly overpriced.
