I think a good idea will be since you guys are going for curated gear, building a room that is well treated and using that same room to swap gear as you test different equipment. That way we watching can gauge how the equipment stacks up against other gear. Sort of like Top Gear with their test track or Nurburgring Times. The Obsessed Chamber. Love this content.
@ perfect. That way as long as nothing changes in the room, any speakers or subs that are placed in there will be apples to apples comparison and it would be easy to refer back to older tests. Maybe do some sort of log so that we can search results of previous gear for side by side comparisons.
Learning through mistakes is certainly the best way to learn anything. It's always better to let someone else make those mistakes and profit from their experience. I personally have learned so much from your own journey and growth Michael. - Thanks! - Cheers!
Human nature is to strive for perfection, especially in the things we are most passionate about. We all know that we can learn valuable lessons from our mistakes, but the most valuable are those we learn from others' mistakes. Love the honesty and transparency. Keep it up!
I like that you show your gear and the journey you take to get the best out of your systems. Most speaker reviews we don’t see the gear or how they hook them up. Been a follow of you for years.
If that's your biggest mistake then you are truly blessed. 😎 Everybody makes mistakes but the difference in people is how they deal with their mistakes. You got it right.
Jonathan von English has the right idea for budget theater I believe. He recommends pro audio products so frequency range is essentially replaced with speaker dynamics which I think is more important in theater as we roll off all speakers at 80is hz. It makes a lot of sense to me to go that way if ur on a very tight budget. Thanks for another positive video.
I can relate to hiccups. I teach 3D modelling software. I always teach live, so users get warts and all. When things go wrong I want to teach them how to troubleshoot and recover from issues
This has been a great week watching your time at the Helen house. It really brought back memories of hanging out with friends that I haven’t seen in years. Similar experiences. All of us successful in life and a couple a little more so. Spent a week in SoCal pimping out Gary’s Jaguar for an awesome sq orientated stereo build, and an obnoxious stereo system in his Escalade. The wives were there but we hardly ever saw them. Hanging out in a million dollar house in the rolling hills of Orange County. The music band KoRn had a house in the same neighborhood and I got to meet a couple of those guys as well as check out their practice space that they had built to contain the sound which is similar to room in a room construction that us theater guys do. I got to wap on his drums so what a highlight that was. Wish I could have had footage of that, just a group of grown boys playing with expensive toys. Thanks for the content. Each day was an hour that seemed like a few minutes it flew by so fast.
Great Video Micheal, I knew you were in Florida but not Lakeland. I'm in Winter Haven. My sub quit working. I have to return 2 items on Amazon at Staples. Then make a new order for a eARC ARC adapter to get my second sound bar connected so that I can try getting that Subwoofer to connect to it I don't it can connect to other soundbar. I get nothing from a sound test. I don't know if it will even work. My Amazon Prime TV app sucks on the U8N. I'm thinking about buying the ROkU Ultra Box for better streaming quality for another $85. TV processors I just learned aren't made for streaming unless you shell out for a Sony Bravia 7. It sucks buying a brand new TV and dealing with the worst streaming quality that no picture setting can eliminate like artifacts and color banding. The U8N. 7" bookshelf passive speakers need to be recognized as a solution for those that don't need high volume speakers but fills the room but with sound that fills the room & saves a ton of space on the walls. The cold and the rain has really kept me from going to Staples. It's causing a major purchase delay.
So wild not seeing Matt in that house after watching two years of him building it out. When you guys expand out west, let us know . I would love to help with the Colorado Obsessed Theater expansion.
Loved watching the videos, made me highly consider a jtr setup. How would you rate the 210 vs the 212? I'm assuming the 210s get loud AF already...so I'm unsure what there would be to gain going to the 12s...
The biggest difference is the coaxial driver in the 212HTR. Any of Jeff speakers that have an R in the model number uses a “reference” coaxial driver and a 3-way crossover. The 210HT is a 2-way design. You get much better clarity in the dialogue with the three-way design
Hi all, I’m new to this and trying to figure it out. I am wanting to add some spice to my basement entertainment. I watch movies and sports, love an action packed movie but the wife likes the dramas. I think my end goal would be a 5.1.2 but want to start with a LRC and add surround later. I really enjoy Klipsch speakers and think I have found what I want Some 600m’s and a 500c to start and will add surrounds later. I am really struggling with an AVR, arc vs earc, 60herts 120 hertz 144 hertz and all the endless options. I am looking for some fun sound to add to movies and sports, I don’t game, how important are these things and what should I be looking for? I think (very unsure) and Onkyo 6100 would be great and is in the price range of what I can get. Is there a better option, or is this completely wrong for my application? I don’t need any “perfectness” I just want more than what the TV can do with its speakers. Note the TV has earc at 120 hertzs.
It seems like a lot of the other TH-cam home theater channels buy rbh. Don't think I've ever seen these reviewed on ur channel. Audioholics must have some kind of partnership with them but rbh speakers might be nice to look at
Search for Youthman JTR and you will find lots of videos. Just not the new series because these are no -functioning prototype speakers. No crossover yet. I’ve heard RBH. They are great speakers but I prefer the sound of JTR myself.
Wow that’s fantastic! I’m proud of you bro. I need to lose around 30 lbs. That’s not that much weight but I have to make better health decisions. What was the key to your success?
@@Youthman In my very specific case, I got mouth cancer. The surgeon took out 9 teeth and I had 50% of my pallet surgically removed (roof of mouth). Size 38 down to size 32 pants. I've gone from 220 pounds to 170 since the beginning of 2024. Thirty radiation treatments later the inside of mouth had been burned pretty good good so I couldn't eat solid food because it hurt so bad. Now the mouth doesn't hurt but I can't taste anything. Food tastes terrible and I still can't eat solid food so now I'm on a 100% liquid diet where I pour 6 boxes of Ensure into a feeding tube in my stomach six times a day. It's really not that bad but I'm more than ready to back to solid food. My diet is NOT recommended. 🤣 You know which diet they say is the best? ALL of them! I suggest you find one you like and then stick to it like a fanatic. If you like the food you're eating you're more likely to stick with it.
Oh wow! I’m sorry to hear you are having to go through that but am super grateful to hear how optimistic you are. Praying you get back to solid food soon.
Youthman, I have been watching your channel for years. I loved the episodes from Helen and I think I may have talked my wife into a trip there next year, as we live a couple of hours away close to Dalton, Ga. I am an audio nut, more specifically a bass nut and I've noticed a lack in options for certain situations and I wanted to run an idea through you. What is a good email that I can direct my ramblings and thoughts to?
Actually I was considering an RS1….if you can ship them right away I’d actually buy it without the discount. Please flag when you have that ready to roll on the channel!
I’ll check with Rusty on inventory. I know we already sold (4) RS1’s. Keep in mind JTR is increasing their rates on Jan 1. By the time they arrive, the prices will have gone up so if you want to take advantage of the current rates, you would need to place your order before Jan 1.
I do not have any plans to build another MWAVE. It consumes 6 months of my time to make it happen. It just isn’t sustainable. But once we have the design center built, we would like to host get togethers more than once a year. Maybe quarterly or even monthly.
I knew you 3 were in business together. I assumed it wasn't anything serious. Maybe sell a few things online, hookup some electronics and call it a day. Now that you're planning on moving into the area has put a whole new spin and understanding of the seriousness of your business collaboration with Rusty & Matt. Congrats and I pray everything works out for you! 💯🥂 The Old Man! Julius🧑🏾🦲🙏🏾

That is exactly what we plan to do. No more tearing apart my own personal theater every time I get in a new product to test. 😀

Appreciate the support Kilo!
JTR might be a good system but it could be more pleasing to the eyes!

Love the new vlog content in addition to what you are already doing. I'm locked in for this journey and want to be apart of it through your channel.

@ I remember when you were Klipsch speakers, I have watched your journey over the years
It’s been an incredible ride!
Great idea!!! Prepping for an svs build 9.1 with Marantz anthem for home…
Nice, Good Chat.. Can't wait to see this new theater in Jan.. - Remember Keep ur Hearing!! lol
Thank you Peppersmith. Appreciate you brother
We can relate but also learn from each other's mistakes.
No wait time on JTRs???
Good luck keeping them in stock 🤣
Love the videos man! Been watching you for years. Happy to see what youre doing 👍
That is one of the value propositions we will be providing through Obsessed Home Theater.

That will be the journey. Discovering curated products we will carry.
