  • He started a wearable technology company called Digital Dudz that combined smartphones playing a video with clothing. Mark left NASA to grow the business for 2 years and after selling Digital Dudz to a company in the UK, he has recently decided to return to his Engineering roots.
Mark Rober is a TH-camr and former NASA Engineer turned Inventor/Entrepreneur. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from BYU and Masters from USC. He worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for 9 years, 7 of which were spent working on the Curiosity Rover which is now on Mars. In 2011, he uploaded his Halloween costume to TH-cam that featured 2 iPads using a FaceTime chat so it looked like he had a hole in his body. The video went viral overnight with 3M views and he decided to start posting monthly videos about creativity, science and design and now has over 77M total views and 350k subscribers.

David ha ha. Lovely. They are so "different" that almost everbody has the same. They are so "innovative" that a new preinstallation of an app is called a new version of the phone. Having an OELD that is used since eons is the biggest innovation? For apple yes. To force you to give your fingerprints and now that they have collected enough fingerprints forcing you to give your facedata to connect it to your account?
With no other choice by taking away the home button... A screen that is always on an reacts on anything you do with no possibility to turn it of? Yes it needs a big creative behind the marketing of such things to make people accept such things

I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots
in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate
this is opposed to current restaurants,
thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants,
along with that, there is an app,
people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days
menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app

Mark is the reason I have continued writing my book. Every, and I mean EVERY time I think about stopping when I'm writing, every time I doubt, Mark Rober comes up in my feed, my notifications, what have you. And every time, I keep writing. Because my idea is good enough, it is creative enough, Ya, sure maybe it's been done before, but I haven't written it yet. And maybe my version is the one the world needs. If it fails, if it flops, then too bad because I refuse to give up on this just yet.

The snake - turtle experiment was really fun to watch like how crazy did people react in it. That guy literally put the rubber snake in his car... maybe he was assuming someone to come and say "hey, that's mine" similar to what happened when we as kids, broke up things and then just flew away.
So, he was like "I'm not giving it back until you come and start pleading"

The funny aspects are that all of our parents told this to us. Try, always ask, be curious, if you want to achieve something you can. But you have to keep on trying
Learn from your failures. We always thought:" yes keep on talking" and now there is this guy and tells us exactly the same with a power point and a smile on the face. And we all think. " Oh wow! He is a genious. Yes I will do it exaxtly like he tells us. "
At this point I want to excuse me to my parents not being able to follow their advices.

Mark, I appreciate your work, your thoughts, your imagination, your generosity in sharing and several other of your attributes. In this clip, I missed much of your message because your words were having a hard time staying in the vicinity of your microphone, especially when you spoke while facing over your shoulder.
I am sure your vocab. basket is brimming with superbly appropriate adjectives that would serve more precisely than "incredible", "fantastic", "unbelievable" or "awesome"; words which have been rendered virtually meaningless by overuse and misuse. I.e. if anything that deviates even slightly from the norm is labeled incredible, for example, then how do you convey the concept of a very rare or even nonexistent state or occurrence?
But having said all of that, let me say that you are extraordinarily gifted and greatly admired. Thanks.
