Team Silent really loves their novels and movies. It it pretty much shows literally everywhere! It’s pretty crazy how much you miss when playing even after multiple runs.
Absolutely. I've discovered them a few years ago, by a scary portraits video, they had the song "All Mine", and then, instant fan of the band. A few days later, I've figured out it was all the time in Silent Hill, in the cafe, and in the street, in front of the Antique Shop. Played so much and finished it so many times, and never noticed, even by curiosity...
The Olympian spirit keys are also based on the symbols representing the 7 deadly sins. They're displayed back at the mall on the tv sets as well, after the cutscene.
@@SalopianGamer Without Kojima, there's no point in playing any new Silent Hill games anyway. Silent Hills was set to be something special, but RE7 ended up stealing the concept.
Man, you did an amazing job. I didn't know about most of these although I'm an old guy lol and I actually played Silent Hill back in 1999 when it came out. Damn did it give me the creeps! Even now as I was recently watching the game's playthrough I thought, "Man, this stuff is still scary as hell!" But anyway, thanks for all your discoveries.
You're welcome, Lynchie English👍 Glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah after all these years, it's still a great game to replay. And the music is still one of the best, as well as the creepiest in the series.
1:57 I've beaten this game so many times, looked up a lot of the secrets and easter eggs, and not even 2 minutes into the video you showed me something I've never seen before. Well done! This deserves more views.
This is exactly the "details in the background" video I was hoping for for quite some time without e.g. the usual Kindergarten Cop references. Thank you so much! Will you be doing more of the Silent Hill series by any chance? (I just binge watched your Tomb Raider videos anyways, so consider me hooked.)
You're very welcome🙂And I definitely will be doing more, AlessaLaraNitara. I want to do every game. Even the last two that I've NEVER played on the PS3. I'm just starting out with Easter Egg videos, but there's so much more content for these games I could do, and they could be far longer than the average ten minutes for anyone interested.
I’m a resident evil person. And because of the silent hill 2 remake I wanted to really get into the original before watching the remake. I can’t believe I’ve skipped over silent hill all these years. I’m hooked on all the silent hill analysis videos I can get!
Silent Hill's brilliant - and it scared the crap out of me: I got as far as the school and then became too frightened to continue, so I've never finished it! 😂
The amount of work and dedication you have on your channel is amazing. I wish I would've discovered your videos a long time ago! Thank you algorithm for bringing me here, definitely going to subscribe and can't wait to binge your whole channel! Keep it up mate!
9:15 Tom Weaver penned the creature from the black lagoon and Craig is a bit harder to pin down. Could be Craig Rice or Ann Randolph Craig. Both pseudonyms.
0:15 I really cannot mix Team Silent or Kojima with Konami. Konami just put their label on the game but by themselves, without these ppl, failed to create good SH or MGS games.
This isn't really an Easter Egg, but more of a missed opportunity for additional items, but there are a few open doorways in SH1 that indicate you can enter them. The 8 Store (aka 7-11) and the hell gas station (Shell Station). I always found this design, indication interesting as conveying a message to the player that the town has other locations you can explore.
I've been binge watching your videos. They're great, not to often that I get a video that actually teaches me a lot I didn't know, on top of being very well done, great sources and a nice pacing. Your subscriber count as of the time I write this is a crime but I'm sure that number will reflect your quality soon enough. Cheers
Hey, thanks, Nathan. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos👍 Yeah, pacing is something I'm always thinking about during editing, I try to find the right balance between getting to the point, but trying not to rush to the next number entry🙂
1 minute in and this is genuine "Easter Eggs, Secrets and References you might have missed" and not just stuff any idiot who played the game will have seen! Why is this so rare as to immediately deserve a sub?! So manny dogwater channels like "Fact 62: The protagonist's name is actually Harry Mason". Keep up the acceptable work, mate. I appreciate it.
Hey, Scott Steele, nice to hear from you again, glad you enjoyed it.🙂 If I ever get the time again to play the game, I'll check out that patrol car out of curiosity 👍
@@SalopianGamer thanks and definitely man too be honest there is so much stuff crammed into this game it makes you wonder the creative impact was for the creators themselves lol
Thanks for the sub, mate, appreciate that👍 and yeah, Silent Hill really was epic. Though I really never cared much for a remake, I was a bit surprised it was skipped over for a Silent Hill 2 remake that was recently revealed.
Silent Hill contains a number of humanoid undead monsters. This is a nod to zombies, which appear in many real-life movies and novels. Zombies are a nod to fear, which is an emotion common in human beings.
If you go into central S.H. at the police station pacifically on the patrol cars im not too sure about this but if you look closely at the emblem it looks like a cat crawling towards your direction? The word pacific is also visible at the "tail" end of the car lol im not too sure if these modeled patrol cars are based off of any real town but i could be wrong.
I find them from various online sources in the research stage. It's a bit tedious because I want to jump into playing the game, but the research has to be done. A great source for information are developer interviews from old games magazines, and fan site interviews. But some of these Easter Eggs were probably found decades ago. The idea is to put together everything I can possibly find into ONE place and share it with everyone. That's why I encourage commenters to put down their findings because I know I probably missed a few things... like the Midwich school entrance that looks like the school from the movie Kindergarten Cop😭
And i almost forgot when you explore midwhich elementary in one of the class rooms there is a brutal image of a boy hanging from barbwire maybe a portrait to Vietnam again i could be wrong of its meaning.
That's a great thought, Scott Steele. You're not wrong about its meaning at all. That's the cool thing about Silent Hill... a lot of its deeper meanings have no clear answer and is left open for so many interpretations by the fans!
@@SalopianGamer very true and to add on to this quest as well just adding on here on specifics from the game jack Daniels is next to the word redrum, there is a Spanish word etched on to a building on finney st what it says i haven't the slightest clue? don't get me wrong, I adore Silent Hill but I'm sorry, Silent Hill didn't bring "psychological horror" games into the mainstream - until they made 2. By that logic anything that makes my brain think "scary" is psychological horror & that's just called "horror". That just ruined this video for me less than 30s in man
