That final race when you were trying to outrun the blue shell was intense and honestly one of the coolest things Ive seen in mario kart
It was pretty dope. Here's a link of the last bit of a race I did where I ran from the blues for all 3 laps. If you like seeing outrunning blue bombers. With no mods.

The last race is clearly the most epic thing I've seen in Mario Kart, Red Falcon was no longer even trying to win against cpus that go 200% faster, but against literally a blue shell xD And damn, it was one of the best circuits to do that with his music
Have you every seen "beating the blue shell"? He gets a blue shell launched at him, and drives for two whole laps with "perfect driving" to show how you can be chased by one, and never let it catch up.
The fact that you outran a blue shell for the full 30 seconds for over a whole track and a third is insane

I always wondered why CPUs had set car combinations, like they're never just completely randomized and they can't use the gold parts

The AI struggles with the increased speed. It's like when 200cc was introduced on the WiiU version of the game. On some maps, the AI really struggles and you can easily lap some of them, but on maps like Cheese Land they somehow abuse the speed really hard.

not only does the diamond cart have insane op stats, its also fast enough to outrun blue shells. damn.
That last race makes me want some kind of "Shadow Shell" mode where it's kinda like Time Trial but 5 seconds after you start, you start getting chased by a shadow shell that acts like a blue shell but moves a little bit slower BUT if it hits you, you just get a game over.
That seriously sounds really fun

If you turn on auto accelerate and tilt controls, you can play with no buttons. I challenge YOU to beat the hard CPUs (in an unmodded vehicle) on any track, no buttons. Assisted steering allowed, and highly suggested for this challenge. Good luck.
Honestly it seemed like the difference between accelerated CPU losses vs wins was racing on map with ample opportunity for karts to fall off the track. Only so much you can reduce you speed in those tight corners.

If you want to make the best kart ever, you should have maxed out everything BUT the weight (longer bar equals a heavier kart). The weight parser should instead be set to ZERO to make the kart lighter and faster and gripper.

There might actually be something to breaking away from the pack - I think I recall from a video about a speedrun that one of the Mario Kart games just simulates the racers on other parts of the track, so they kind of defy physics compared to when they're within view. Of course that's no guarantee it works the same way for this one, but it's possible that it would be a valid tactic for these mods!

The No Drift challenge is actually possible on most tracks WITHOUT MODS! I used to do it because I wanted to practice racing lines.
