These are methods and items I did to maximize my fuel milage out of my 1984 Toyota Sunrader. I average 16.5MPG the last two trips. #toyota #campervan #overlanders
I really like your rig! I had a 1983 Toyota SR5 shortbed single cab pickup that i bought new, 22R, oh, I wish I still had it, it was stolen. I now have a 2006 Dodge Sprinter based Itasca Navion, pre def, 23 footer. Trying to to keep it going has become a hobby of sorts, luckily, i can still get parts without much of a problem. I take good care of it and it gets 18-21 mpg. I decided to “delete” the black water system by cleaning the tank out and sealing the intake off. I love using a Thetford porta-potti, it holds 5 gallons of water and 5 gallons of waste. The great thing is that i can empty it just about anywhere (my sewer clean out, state park pit toilets, etc) instead of a dump station only. Shower gray water gets dumped just about anywhere out there. Great video!
It’s been very reliable. I’ve owned it since 2007. So far, I’ve been able to do all the maintenance and work on it myself, thanks to TH-camr “Florida Van man “, he specializes in the Sprinterr T1N model repairs and mods. It has a 5cyl Mercedes diesel and I haven’t had any major issues at all. Probably not unlike your Toyota, not a powerhouse.
I did an electric Weber 38 with an EGR delete and LCE street headers on 87 22r pickup. The power gain is astronomical, and gas mileage improved from the aisin carb, which had a history of issues for me.
How many 💩 per trip can she hold? Clearly it depends on variables such and diet and coffee breaks. Let’s say you usually have 2 breakfast pupusas and cold brew…
I could listen to you talk about anything, so clear and simple 😊
@@BEGGARWOOD1 well thank you! I appreciate that

How do you like the dodge sprinter? Has it been reliable?

Another great video from Sir Drifto! Thank you! I’m gonna look into what rear differential gears I have.
Thanks for watching! Definitely do the gear change it’s a game changer
Great information thanks
you should add a aftermarket tachometer on it just to see where the rpms are at
That's next on the list

@@pedrogarcia5418 that's great to hear that perspective! Was tuning the weber a pain? I've heard mixed reviews
my 22re does 3k-3.5k rpm when going up big hills
install an ,,afr meter ,, see how it reads ,

The pupusas greatly reduce efficiency of driving to toilet break ratios
@@SirDrifto if you leave the black water drain cap open then you never have to worry about capacity
