  • At Drivenmad, we repair, maintain and upgrade vehicles in our workshop, here in the sunny Algarve, Portugal.
    Having hundreds of kilometres of dirt roads, dirt tracks and various hills with ruts on our doorstep, we venture out and test our 4x4’s to the limit (our limit, not theirs  )
    When we can get one, we will slip in a vehicle review, along with some product testing - who does not want to know which tyre stops the best ?
    So subscribe and join our journey as we modify, test and improve our cars in as many ways as possible.
    You must love the tunes - so make sure to check out “Death Of Guitar Pop” for some awesome music!

    I own a 2008 b200 turbo. She still surprises me when she gaps a lot of cars from the traffic light. And parts are generally pretty cheap. Only downfall, working on the engine is a pain!but a small price to pay for a reliable mercedes

      It is one of the best cars I have had - great fun, such a surprising turn of speed and mine was incredibly comfortable, the air seats are amazing - the roof however is unrepairable :( so watch the latest and it has gone, genuinely gutted as in my bank account !)

    I own a 2008 B200 Turbo as well, but a manual one. Definitely a great car to drive that's very comfortable. Congrats on your purchase!😃

      Hi do you have some advices on the maintenance 😅 clutch, spark plugs, belt …

    • @DrivenMadShow
      @DrivenMadShow  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Alnawari we are no experts - the cars that serve us best have very regular oil changes (with filter as well) we are told the weak points are the cvt box (so you have dodged that one :) and the sunroof, otherwise very strong - if you can, keep it serviced ( ours has full MB service history) so it will go in once a year for a dealer service and we will do a 1/2 way (7500km ish) additional oil change. We will always do the easy stuff, brakes air filters etc as well.

      @@elizabethaguilar9359 sorry, I had to re-do mine to remember ;) press TEL then on the lower round button (one with OK in it) press down to telephone then OK and it will search for yours ( need to have your phone on bluetooth that the same time) the select it - assuming you have the same system is we do ? ours only works the phone , sadly no bluetooth audio, we bought a frequency sender to connect our phones to the radio to play them, works a treat.

    The engines are very reliable (mine was > 300.000 km, B170 with 115 PS) but not the automatic (called Autotronic) and the sunroof. Normally manual shift without sunroof (water could come in or the electric can fail) is even more reliable.

      The turbo flys, surprisingly quick car, out drags our Abarth yet very smooth - dont get a sunroof :( they all leak or worse

    I’ve got an 05 in Oz and so nice to drive but with 200k km its sunroof likes to stick open (known issues) and engine injectors and spark plugs all hard to access - however it’s a great second car if handy with a spanner 👍

    Another day on the Autobahn in the sprinter and, as if on cue, the next video from the square-shaped car enthusiasts in Portugal :-) I’ll be interested to see how reliable the B Class is over the next few months.

      Its had a sheltered life we assume, one owner doing 7 ish K a year - service from the dealer they bought it - now we have discovered flappy paddles ( on a CVT ? ) it goes round the bends on our 35km uphill hill journey to the mancave way better than it has any right too (on old tyres) - and I let my 21 year old son ( lead foot as he is known) take the poor old girl out without me - so its got a very different new life 😂 Tuesday it is booked in for a spa day at the Mercedes dealer to keep its unblemished history up to date - wallet will take a smashing - but "B" is winning my heart - I plodded the UK motorway in a Vito for a couple of years ( a tax dodge ) then had an E class, last UK car an M140i Beemer, surprisingly, the B is more like the Beemer in many ways, with the comfort of the E - so other than looks (although I am being won over) its almost perfect ( did I really say that !) have not had a car in years that I want to be in for no reason whatsoever ! - hope you find some decent coffee on the Autobahn - we are basking in 22 degrees, don't hate me 😎

      @@DrivenMadShowThe electrics are a weak point but overall the w245 and w169 post facelifts are reliable. My w169 hasn't caused any problems (excluding bulbs and tyres the normal stuff) since owning it a year and a bit ago

      I bought one 18 months ago with issues, cars guide priced them from $9,000 - $13,000 Australian. Advertised for $1,300 I thought it was worth the gamble, after having it delivered for another $300 I was surprised to see the consetina sunroof and turbo badge & full leather interior. Another $500 for parts including a second hand steering rack with box & electronic torque sensor which was the main reason for the price being so low, cock of a job but 3 days later everything was fixed and I would not get rid of it because of the fuel it has saved me while out doing quotes and just nipping down the shops etc. My work truck is a 1978 f100 running a 302 Windsor & driveline from a mustang so the savings are huge. If you think you can do it you usually can! Happy motoring 😊
