★ 4K 🇨🇭 Tilt train Delémont - Biel/Bienne cab ride [04.2021] Führerstandsmitfahrt im Jura

- Thanks to Andrea Lisa, we present another line in 4K for the first time on TH-cam in this direction, through the beautiful Jura mountains of Switzerland. This line is used for InterCity services between Biel and Basel, with a change of direction in Delémont. A few years ago, the train continued from Biel on to Geneva, however construction work has led to some timetable changes.
Unfortunately there is a bit of sun glare at some parts. Hopefully we'll be able to record this line again at some stage in better conditions.

I take this line quite often, but to experience it from the train driver's view turns it into a new experience. Particularly the short tunnels between Choindez and Moutier that you hardly notice as a passenger are nice to watch.

Wow!!! That's a really long tunnel!!! 👉 12:43. I would get claustrophobic in there! 😱 And it looks like you have a bit of graffiti problem in Switzerland, too. 😏 👉 22:40 as seen here on what appears to be a freight train. But, I LOVE Switzerland!!! Seeing this gorgeous country by rail, in this video, is the next best thing, for now. Maybe someday I'll see Switzerland for real. 😊 ❤️ The tracks in the video looks like our standard gauge. Ours tracks in the USA are mostly 4 feet, 8 and a half inches. Same in Switzerland?
The gauge is standard gauge 1435 mm. Afaik it should be the same. The cargo wagons are used internationally, you never know where they come from and where the graffiti was applied.
The video is beautiful but I keep repeating it without the route from Basel it loses that charm. We would like a video from Basel to Delémont via ICN

I swear, this is the only channel to show cab view rides at more than 20 FPS.
That was a great ride. Going through the Swiss towns with the scenery can't be beat. The train was very quiet and had good speed. Thanks for showing me a part of the word that I will never see in reality.

I was a bit surprised to see it run on the right on the double track section. Don't the trains in Switzerland drive on the left (or is that particular section an exception)?
Left is the norm, but the tracks can also be used freely to optimise situations.

From over 2 years ago I wonder as to the condition of of the BM 6/6 seen in the northern end of Biel yard? Now replaced by the hybrid yard shunter?
There were a number of them stored there. Most of them belonged to private owners.

Who pays for the track and station maintenance where there is shared use by 2 or more different rail companies?
Each company pays the respective infrastructure division of the parent company.

It was a very nice trip, even getting to see an Aldi at the very end! I just went shopping at Aldi today, but one that is 9460 km from this one.
Aldi gained a foothold in Switzerland about 15 years ago, so they are a rather recent addition to our landscape! 🙂

ICN. ETR 610 verkehrt in der Regel nur als Eurocity und das nicht auf dieser Strecke.

@@irinashidou9725 Der ETR 610 fährt hauptsächlich als Eurocity (in Deutschland als Eurocity Express) zwischen Frankfurt und Milano und zwischen München und Zürich. Auf der Gotthard-Linie fahren ja jetzt meistens die Giruno-Züge
Sie fahren häufig zwischen Genf & Zürich, bzw. St Gallen via Biel, Basel - Delémont, ab und zwischen Basel & Zürich.
Still, I couldn’t stand it and I’m writing to you. The speedometer readings in the lower right corner of the screen make it difficult to abstract yourself and completely immerse yourself in the contemplation of beautiful views. On other videos, this inscription was not there before, the screen was clean and the immersion in the trip was complete. Pop-up signs about bridges and tunnels are not at all disturbing. But the speedometer is an eyesore and kills the sense of adventure; it doesn’t let you feel like you’re in a train cabin. I don't know who needs this speedometer. These are not Formula One racers, but beauty lovers. Maybe the speed can also only be shown sometimes? This inscription really bothers me: there is no that sweet effect of complete immersion in the trip.
I'm sorry but your concern about is unnecessary! In my point of view all information about the trip is important beyond to aggregate values on the channel!
