    Mike .. That looks incredible!! I can see the change from your wood frame to this one.. I bet the wood was really dampening the subtle vibrations and stuff. Have you had any issues with the aluminum profile nuts and bolts coming loose? I have a full frame steel rig.. (mostly welded) sometimes stuff just comes loose even on my rig.. DMAX

      Thanks, yes very quickly realised that while the wood was a great and quick way to test the concept, there's just too much flex in timber. Heavy too. Ive been running my Ali sim for a year and a half now and have not had any bolt come loose.

    Could you show when this rig is of, turning on, climbing in, and last one when you hit kill switch

    Damn I would like to have the schematics for this one and and make a rally version of this sim motion simulator.

    Looks great , how much did it cost to build it without the frame ?

    fantastic work! Are you documenting your builds anywhere?
    I noticed that the motors are located on the back in this design, whereas in the earlier wooden frame, they were approx. mid-frame, any info regarding the change?

      Moved to the rear for more mechanical leverage

      Same question. Are you posting detailed documentation so others can do this?

    • @mikeyearly
      @mikeyearly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WilsonBradleyTheOfficial there is a build thread on xsim. But this is now a commercial product so no further self build information will be made available

      @@mikeyearly Thanks.. Ya, the price is still to high for most consumer justification. A person could DIY for 1K or less.

    Amazing work! Can you also feel if the car understeers or oversteers through the rig? Except from the ffb of the wheel.

      @mikeyearly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Traction loss is best for this, but yes you can feel it a little bit due to the sway force

  • @johnpeters8724
    @johnpeters8724 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    what happens when you crash?

    • @mikeyearly
      @mikeyearly  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You either get thrown about a bit due to the surge and sway forces spiking, or you turn on crash detection in Simtools and nothing happens as it filters it out

    With the money spent on that you could have bought a superkart and experienced very high performance motorsport in real life. 0-60mph 150mph and braking for hairpins at 100 m. Not having a go. Looks cool.
