R.I.P. Charlie Watts 😪 Very special performance in 1968 by the original Rolling Stones... Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts ... Bill Wyman (bass) & (the late) Brian Jones (guitar)
Good job, Ladies! The video is from the dvd “The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus”. It was filmed in December 1968 and was to be shown on tv, but the Stones never released until 1996. Also on the show were The Who, Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, and a one time performance by The Dirty Mac (John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and Mitch Mitchell who was Jimi Hendrix’s drummer). The dvd is well worth buying, you can easily find it on Amazon or at a Barnes & Noble. The dvd also has lots of extras, like the story about how this show came to be. This was Brian Jones’ last public appearance with the Stones (the blonde guitarist) and he drowned in his pool in July of 1969 at the age of 27.
You should totally check out the studio version, the addition of the choir makes it so much more epic. And RIP, Charlie Watts. Just a bummer that he wasn't shown just once throughout the whole video. Charlie was probably the most reliable and constant drummer in rock history. Much like Ringo Starr he was not really a showoff on stage or doing any extraordinary stuff, no big drum rolls or fills, just very precise and efficient drumming throughout his 58 (!) years in this band which is incredible. Sometimes you wouldn't even notice that he was there on stage, he was just the constant beat of the heart of the Rolling Stones, unimaginable that they will still go on without him now. Rest in Peace, man, and thank you for the music.
You are my heroes you take me on a journey the stones are right up there with my history I was your age Juliet when I started getting into music that wasn’t main stream the stones played a big part in that transition all power to you ladies Just keep on rocking through the ages and I’ll keep listening when I see your reaction to a tune for the first time it’s like I’m listening for the first time Brilliant times and thanks ladies for all the hard work great tunes new tunes let’s continue all the best of luck to you and your family T
What's not to love? This man of 60 years of age LOVES to see & hear the reactions of young people when they first hear classic rock songs. It gives me hope for the future.
Great reaction girls! One of my favorite Rolling Stones songs. This was a particularly upbeat version of the song. A more upbeat version than the record or what the band usually plays in this song. God bless Charlie Watts 💜❤️💜 He was and is one of the very best musicians I have ever had the pleasure to see play live ... Many times. Thanks Juliet and Mia. Love you both.
I believe the type of drug store he's singing about in the song is the old fashioned little drug store with a soda fountain where you could sit on a stool or in a booth and get a soda or a milk shake or a banana split, etc. Sometimes on the old Andy Griffith show you can see one. Wish we still had them. Anyway, glad you liked the Stones. Rest in peace, Charlie.
This song came out the year i was born in 1969 the studio version. Good choice of song. I have all their old stuff from 1965 through 1970. I also have ones from the 70's and 80's to present. They are still going it's sad about Charlie Watts. He was 80 one of the best drummers of all time.
RIP Charlie Watts. He was the perfect drummer for the Stones..strong and steady. He had a jazz background. That's Brian Jones, the founder of the Stones, on guitar. That performance must have been a few months prior to his death. He died in July '69, and the song was recorded in late '68, and released in July '69.
This was from a performance called the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Several other bands performed that day. But it was The Who that stole the show when they performed their song "A Quick One". Many Who fans consider The Who's performance of "A Quick One" at this gig to be their greatest live performance ever. It would be great if you two reacted to it, it is AMAZING! And with that said, RIP Charlie Watts. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
I did not remember Mick in his Freddie stage. Yes... CVS or Rite Aid. Great tribute ladies. RIP Charlie. Rapping at the end? I LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUCH!!!
Not the greatest version of this iconic song, but it is the thought that counts!! Thank you both for paying homage to a great drummer and even a better human being, Charlie Watts! The most fun song the Stones did is called "She's A Rainbow", so see what your t-shirt buyer and music screener thinks of you reacting to that one!
That's a great song by a band who did a LOT of very good songs! Hard not to tap your foot at least, or bob your head along with the beat. And yes, it has the sort of rhythm that could power you when out for a walk; though it'd probably turn into a strut! Keep practising the Jagger impression, Juliet - maybe one day ...! :)
Minuto 6.39 el gran John Lennon entre el público!. Siempre fueron grandes amigos The Beatles y The Rolling Stones. Y lo demostraban cada vez que podían, participando en los distintos proyectos de cada banda.
Adjusted for inflation, that $2.00 in 1964 is equal to $17.60 in today. The last time I saw the Stones was at Madison Square Garden in 1994, and the ticket price was $125, and worth every cent. I wish I had been only enough to have seen them in the 60’s or early 70’s when they were at their best, but it was still an amazing show.
I saw them live in 1982 and they played that song too. It was an amazing feeling to stand in the crowd up front and just....sway. Great reaction as always. Try to listen to HEAVEN from the album "Tattoo you" ...... close your eyes and just flow away
Great video choice ladies Charlie wasn't the most dynamic drummer but he always played the perfect amount any song called for. I was always amazed that Charlie was notorious insomniac who would go weeks without sleeping yet never missed a show
This is not an Official Video, but it is one hell of a live version of the song. Taken from "The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus" including other bands like The Who, Jethro Tull and The Dirty Mac. I highly recommend u to check out Jumpin' Jack Flash and Sympathy for the Devil from this show!
The "Rolling Stones Great Rock and Roll Circus". I think this is where the Stones sounded their best. Raw rock and roll guitar. Not polished. Rough! I believe John Lennon was on this and Eric Clapton as well. Thanks for playing this for Charlie. RIP
Also The Who and Jethro Tull were there. I think this was the last time Brian Jones played live with the Stones. Everybody says Charlie was a kind person and a real gentleman
Good job girls I had ..never heard the song done this way before Check out Angie sad but beautiful love song. That tells a love story. Probably one of the most beautiful ballads ever made for Rock
This is from the Stones Rock n Roll Circus. Amazing footage of Jethro Tull, The Who, and Taj Majal. This may have been the last recorded music performed with Brian Jones.
I'm not judging his singing abilities, but going by his stage presence his live persona, nobody touches him and hes been doing it for almost sixty years!

I love The Rolling Stones. I grew up on their music. This is a great song and a cool reaction. I enjoyed watching and listening to your comments in your reaction video. A few favorite songs from The Rolling Stones include Bitch, Gimme Shelter, I Know It's Only Rock N Roll, Honky Tonk Women and Tumblin Dice. I would like to suggest reacting to Samantha Fish. Thank you and wishing you both an awesome weekend.
Ironically, this was one of just a few songs in the Stones vast catalogue which didn't have the great Charlie Watts playing drums. According to an account that I read, Charlie just couldn't find the very precise groove that Mick and Keith were looking for. The record's producer Jimmy Miller was an excellent drummer and sat in for Charlie and was incredible on the much more epic studio version. I assume Charlie is playing in this filmed television version, but I didn't see any identifiable shot of whoever is playing the drums in the video.
This is from the RS’s Rock and Roll Circus. Filmed for TV but the Stones kept it back bc they thought they were below par. Other greats performed! The man and woman at the end here were John Lennon and Yoko
all time iconic performance of all time iconic song and greatest band ever lived. Forget the last 30yrs. Just cos they didn’t die in 1973 doesn’t make their early stuff any less epic.
They were still good and should get mad respect for their endurance. Not like the F*ing Beatles they even quit already before Lennon died and are partly responsible for many things going wrong with pop music.
Hola chicas! I haven't commented in a while, but nice to see you guys. I'm not a huge Stones fan, but I always liked this one. RIP Charlie, but you should know that he did not play the drums on this tune, as he simply didn't have the chops to play the groove. Charlie was not any kind of top-notch drummer, but he was a big part of the glue that kept the band together. Stay safe and rock on! 🤘☮️
I kinda feel like his reference to 'her bleeding hands' was to describe the men she'd left heartbroken behind her, looking for her picture of an ideal man..but that while he knows the guy she's marrying won't be her 'ideal,' he may well be the person that she needs, to inspire her growth as a person.
The studio version is worth listening to :). there is a choir singing background vocals in the middle, powerful. imo, the lyrics are universal to the idea of people getting whatever it is they want. Often whatever that is -is unavailable, but most people can find what they need.
It's nice that you are discovering and appreciating music that some of us have been listening to since it first came out in 1969. Though your reactions had little to nothing to do with Charlie Watts. But that would be difficult to do from watching a video that never even shows him.
This is not from Tattoo You. It's on the album Let It Bleed. Well, the studio version that is. This live version is from a live album called Rock and Roll Circus, which also features live songs by The Who, Taj Mahal, John Lennon etc.

If you did not know, The Stones are one of the greatest bands of all time. Satisfaction has one of the most iconic guitar riffs ever. Keith Richards and Mick Jagger are considered the 2nd best song writing duo behind Lennon and McCartney. No one beats The Beatles but The Stones are often considered the next best thing.
True. I am not a huge Beatles fan either. I prefer Queen and Guns N Roses but what The Beatles did may never be matched. More No.1 songs in America than any other band. The Stones were a much better live band. Mick Jagger was the template for all rock frontman who came after.
The irony here is that it was The Stones' producer Jimmy Miller ("Mr. Jimmy" as mentioned in the song) who played the drums on the studio version of "You Can’t Always Get What You Want" and not Charlie Watts. (Moreover, the concert movie _The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus_ was never released when intended and took years to actually surface officially because The Stones were dissatisfied with their performance in it and felt that they were upstaged by the other performing acts in it e.g. The Who, Taj Mahal and The Dirty Mac.) And as I always note, "Charlie's good tonight, ain't he?"
That performance from the Rock and Roll Circus - you have to check out from that same show The Who - A Quick One (while he’s away). I think you can find it on The Who’s channel. You’ll see the same weirdos in the audience/ circus looking people
