    This build inspired me to make my own door enclosures. Layered Birch CNC cut and shaped. Used the same drivers too and loved them. Your work is amazing.

    I suppose this is a must to build such kind cabinets to doors to get proper bass performance from doors. Especially japenese car door panels are quite slim and don’t have naturallycabinet area.

    Front end subs sound tactile and well contained. Assuming the sound is fuller at the front stage with dual subs, instead of single sub.

    awesome project with subs in the door, unfortunatelly i think a daily driver that's not kept in the garrage might need other materials like plastic for the enclosure...because of water coming in, for the long term..and drain holes

      And that is the reason why i used plywood as that can handle moisture. If you wanted to be super safe, then you can coat the whole back of it with resin and then you have nothing to worry about.

    Hi Peter, In part 1 when I saw this I thought “oh god, this is going to look terrible” (as I dislike almost all door builds) but I am really pleasantly surprised, this looks really good! Can I ask about your DSP, how many channels are you running and are they all active? There’s a lot going on there so I am wondering if each speaker in the front has it’s dedicated channel from the DSP and amp. Thanks once more 👍🏻

    I wonder how those 8inch sb acoustics subs would compare to the 8 inch focal fse sub, and also compared to the jl audio 8 3v3 subs. I was thinking of using them in enclosures mounted in front my front seats on passanger and driver side of my toyota corolla.

    • @dc5001
      @dc5001 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One more question peter, would it be possible for you to design and build a front door sub enclosure for a toyota corolla 2013. I wouldn't need as big of a enclosure for the sb acoustics sub as you, because i would be crossing over subs in trunk at 60hrtz?. The plan i have is to have my two Jl audio 10w7's sealed in the trunk at 60hz, the same sb acoustics sub as you in the front doors between 60hp to 100 hz lp, focal kx3 6.5 in upper door 100hz hp to 500hz lp, focal kx3 3inch a pillar, 500hz hp to 6500hz lp, focal tbm berylium tweeter a pillar 6500hz.

    • @pssound9749
      @pssound9749  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel Castiglione alright, let’s go step by step:
      1. I can’t build anything without the car onsite as you have to pay attention to clearance everywhere like lowerdash, leg space, seats, etc.
      2. You need an enclosure for most 8” at least as big as what i have in the Honda, which are ~12.5L. Also, that SbAcoustics 9” driver is super deeeeeeep, hence i had to cut the inner skin of the door, otherwise it would block your leg to the pedal (if you drive a RHD car).
      3. If all you are after is a but more front-end punch, then you just need a single front sub in passenger footrest or glovebox and just install the KRX3 midbass properly.
      4. This is not how you select crossover points in a car! You can only ever estimate “safe” Xover points, but if you have a fully active system with a proper DSP, then it needs a proper tuning session with an RTA.

    • @dc5001
      @dc5001 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pssound9749 thank u peter i really appreciate your response . My idea at first was i could cross the 6.5 higher so i would put less strain on the drivers as i would have a dedicated sub for the lower frequency, to bring the bass up front. anyway I really admire your work, and passion. I just want that concert sql.

      @pssound9749  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      eduardo batista I haven’t used many of their speakers, but they are definitely fantastic value. This one in the video is a rather 9” driver for kickbass, so not as accurate above 120/150Hz, but absolutely awesome in 30-120Hz! 💪🤘
