I bought this shotgun back in 2014. I put a Choate mag tube extension on it and I love it, the thing is built like a tank. I like it better than my Maverick 88.
I have a Mossberg Maverick 88. Only difference between the two is that my Maverick works, and if it breaks, Mossberg or my gunsmith can and will fix it. My Hawk 982 died after 50 rounds. China wont refund, gunsmith cant fix it. I'm trying to save you from the pain I feel when look at my broken Hawk 982. Sell it before it breaks.
Have you shot it yet? I just bought a IAC Hawk 981R (the model with the rail). I used to own an H&R Pardner Pump Protector, which is made by the same company (Qiqihar Hawk/Norinco), but sold it and was looking for another one soon thereafter. These are copies of Remington 870's, but built better as there aren't any injection molded parts. I hope you broke it down and cleaned/oiled it before you fired it. The action will be much, much smoother.
Don't get it! Had a Hawk 982 and it died at 50 rounds. Trying to save you the heartbreak budy. Save up a little more and get a Mossberg. Its pot metal garbage. No offense to anyone that has one but this chick will wrip your heart out, been there and done that and soaked a pillow in tears over it.
M Wash you’re going to love it. It’s really heavy, but heavy is good. I’ve had mine since 2008 and has seen heavy use. Not one single problem. Oh, and about the comment above, he must of bought a lemon.

the trigger guard is metal.
Not metal maybe the older one but mines not metal.
