- It has always happened that women with curly hair have preferred it straight, and those with straight hair have preferred it curly. It seems that not having a characteristic is enough to want to possess it. However, I am one of those who defend that it is better to accept what nature has given you and make the most of your physical and emotional qualities and attributes.
But in the case that you want to have wavy perm hair, it is not necessary to sigh more every time you look in the mirror and see your straight hair. It is also not essential that you have to use your curlers every morning to have the hair you dream. Now there are other solutions such as curly perms that can drastically improve your life, in this way you will be able to enjoy your hair more and also, leave out tools that emit too much heat since, in the long run, it can be harmful to you.
Perm styling for hair can be the right solution for women who have straight manes or who don’t have much movement because nature has given them too much falling hair.
Perm is not the same, nor do you get the same results as when you put curlers in your hair for a small or medium curl. The purpose of the permanent wave is to provide waves to the hair that give volume and vigor to the hair.
It is also the right solution because it has advantages, such as permanent waves that will make it appear that you have more hair than you have, so at first glance, you will notice that you have much more volume in your hair. Your hair can look up to twice as voluminous so it will look much more attractive and healthy, especially if you are used to having too fine hair.

@@toshas5324 hey! No it didn’t burn at all but I have noticed that even though my hair has grown incredibly long, my hairline started to bald/ recede and have patches even though I followed all the steps and maintained the perm exactly as instructed.
I think it probably didn’t agree with me or it burnt my hairline somehow without me realising ?? Not sure . It’s a shame because it looked so pretty
Now that I haven’t touched up , my hairline is growing back in so it’s definitely the chemicals that did something to my edges
@@keilahrose2999 it could have been that when you rinsed it out the first time the chemical wasn't rinsed out all the way, when you use chemicals it changes the Ph of the hair making it which is why most people usually recommend or do a balancing shampoo to get the ph back to normal, or it could have been that the neutralizer wasn't rinsed out properly.
@@charleygemini2104 I don’t think so because it didn’t affect any other part of my hair except my scalp near my hairline.
It started to recede .. I’m still struggling with regrowth ,So I think it was too strong for my scalp in that area
@LaVonya Hunter do you think it was the step 1 that caused the problem? Is that when you based your hairline? I did put some Vaseline .. Maybe I took too long to put it on the front of my hair line. I’m so scared to try again in case I go bald or something and it doesn’t grow back but if I do... I think I’ll leave my hair line/ edges completely free and natural

I'm Ol school and I used to wear carefree curl when I was a teenager and we used the plastic cap to let the perm process
Awesome job! My cousin used to get those back in the 80s. I always thought they were cute on her. God blessed me with natural curls, but I do believe that this is the next best thing to having natural curls.

Yes it is the return of the jheri curl minus the activator...a curly perm is a curl reconstructed and a relaxer is called a perm but it's a relaxer that straightens coarse hair
I followed the video and was generally satisfied with the results. I am in the process of doing my touch up. I only began with new growth and allowed to process. This time I used a waterset to roll because of my shoulder. I am now saturating the rollers thoroughly including lifting them. Thanks for the lottabody suggestion. I used it years ago to wrap my hair.
You got me wanting my curl back. Now adays, I could add clip ins and style it in a hundred different ways

I recognize those products this a jheri curl and it’s not permanent it has to be retouched up, the only thing I don’t like about the Jheri curl is the products you need to use to maintain it are too heavy and greasy and messy but what I do like is because your hair stays moisturized with the products it’s more likely to grow really well
These products are permanent hence needing to retouch the new growth.

I have a few questions as I am thinking about trying the curly perm again.
•I have been natural for 6 years before texturizing with scurl product at home one month ago to gain some manageability, can I have them processed with a curly perm still?
•what treatment do you recommend to strengthen the hair before going to the salon for a curly perm?
•Can I ask the hair tech to give me the perm with only the tiniest perm rods? I still want a tight afro type of result.
•And as I have thin hair, can I ask her to not straighten the hair all the way during phase one to keep some texture and fullness?

I must tell the audience if you want curils minus rods and straightening .YOU apply the perm the same way but use wide teeth comb and form s patterns instead of combing straight.So people who have curly or wavy hair can do the s pattern method to control frizz and have a more defined curl or wave. Curly hair uses perm ,to straighten hair process is called a relaxer .
Does this make your hair fall out eventually, like a regular relaxer?

This is a jheri curl, from way back in the days and you better be careful if you do this, if you don't take care of this, your hair will come out. It's a no for me.
That’s being natural, relaxer, and any process. Not caring for your hair in any state will cause it to fall out.

@@Crystalclear-t5xyes it does bring moisture to your hair, but I'm just speaking from experience. I've seen so many people hair fall out because they didn't take care of it, keep in mind this is a chemical. My point is you have to put in extra work with this jheri curl or your hair will come out.

GREAT VIDEO! I have a possible new client that has the Carefree Curl done by someone else 3 months ago. She expressed that the curls never formed in the back. I believe the because her hair is short maybe the wrong rollers were used or the parts not small enough. Can you give me any advice on doing her hair?

Please DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS YOURSELF. Seek a professional for a consultation and proper application. Doing this yourself is too risky, improper application may lead to scalp irritation and burns, hair breakage and shedding. This may look simple but it’s a lot more complex than what you see here. Please remember this is a permanent chemical process.

@K Benson - Looks like she put a ton of product in the woman's hair after she finished washing it. It seems like a lot of product is needed to maintain the curl.

I still do curls Carefree when I put a cap on and let them sit down 10 minutes then a comb it through
I did not like my mother for a long time for making me get a Jerri curl.😂😂 Instead of using curl activator I started putting grease in my hair then I just let it dry out 😂😂 she never paid to get my hair done again until I was ready to get it cut.😂😂😂😂
So apparently there was the dry curl, which were bigger curls. Yo…I strait cried when I first got it done lololol…HATED IT. But now, puffs are all the rave + our hair did grow lololol

Treatment as conditioner? Any penetrating hair conditioner to strengthen the hair a week or 2 before the process

This is a jheri curl. You will be required to put oil in your hair. If you do not moisturize your hair, it will come out by the root.

Use curl the activator daily, hair should have some slip. Shampoo once a month. Rinse out really well weekly if you feel you have to much build up and add the curl activator.
Don’t use products outside of the treatment and don’t expose your hair to too much sunlight. Just like adding too much heat, all these things will break your hair right off
That's a Jheri Curl. Nothing NEW, you can change the name but it remains the same.

When people talk about perms they usually are referring to a relaxer or people who have relaxed hair (which is taking hair that was curly and making it straight) , while a curly perm is done to reform curl and give you a looser curl than your natural.
