The " I am a teacher, Super Mario Sweater" Game has lead me to take up knitting during the pandemic, 'because why not?'
Thank you guys so much for choosing pancreatic cancer to donate to, I lost my dad to it recently. Once he was diagnosed everyone knew what would happen because of how serious it is. Pretty sure that Satellaview didn't allow you to connect to internet, but to proprietary satellite broadcasts by Japanese company St.GIGA. The confusion arises probably from the fact that Satellaview was a modem - but not an internet modem.
The French also had their own kind of internet in the 90s. The 90s were weird...

Imagine if the e-Reader was more successful, then I'd have been able to access the e-Reader content in Super Mario Advance 4.
I guess Amiibo's could be considered a successor in some regards.
Well, the Wii U shop has a version of Super Mario Advance 4 that has all the e-Reader stages unlocked.
There _are_ other methods of accessing this content, but that's a morally grey area.
At least the cards can be made and programmed to unlock stuff.

11:19 A lot of people probably don't care, but I'm a little baffled that they used a fake Fire Emblem boxart there rather than an official one. With a channel dedicated to video game history, you don't think they'd use bootleg images (unless they legitimately didn't know or something).

In 5:00 the advertisement isn't about Mario 3, but a Mario 3 branded furikake (rice topping consisting mostly of roasted roe eggs mixed with seaweed and sesame seeds) and making also reference to a Mario branded curry sauce in the left textbox. There are copies of the ads for both products somewhere in youtube if anyone is curious.

Kinda unrelated but Mario Strikers Charged is an overlooked masterpiece. Change my mind.
I wouldn't call it obscure at least compared to these games.
I haven't played it in years but I remember it being a lot of fun.
The tutorial is however utter rubbish.
If Next Level Games made a new entry then it would probably do extremely well. People are talking about it everywhere and if it included an online mode then it would basically render FIFA useless. Strikers was the only football game I really enjoyed and it would really benefit from an improved gameplay system and just bigger scope overall.

I find it really funny that strikers would beat FIFA. I mean, well deserved, I can tell a lot more differences between the first two games than I can for all the FIFA games

3:45 Last Mario game on the Famicom? What about Dr. Mario? Yoshi's Cookie? Wario's Woods? Super Mario USA (a Famicom version of SMB2 USA)? They all came years after Return of the Mario Bros. Hell, Return of the Mario Bros. was pretty much an advertisement for then-upcoming Mario 3.

It's amazing that even back then Japan has radio shows with actors for video games and anime. Something a lot of international radio lacks, usually just playing music or reporting news; instead of celebrities or actors having a chat and having fun.
There's literally a My Hero Academia radio show hosted by Deku himself, interviewing ohter members of the cast; at one point they even talk about the english dub and compare it to japan's!
Japan thought as they still have radio equipment, night as well let everyone enjoy, instead of shoving it in the bin like in Europe and the US.

Canonically, Famicom GP takes place right after Super Mario 3D World, as the Mario Look-Alikes are actually just Mario using a cherry powerup and having fun with it after the adventure.
I want a new Wario Woods game with a story mode and new features like multiplayer or vs

OMG. I actually had that Mario and friends digital coloring game when I was a young child. But I had completely forgotten all about it until it showed up in this video and then the memories came flooding back.

This video made me think about my beloved Wii U which I've been playing lately. Today, I was playing 3D World which also comes with "Luigi Bros" on the menu. It's the original Mario Bros but with Luigi. Also, forgotten I picked up Excitebike 64 the last time I played. Have also been looking into the Super Mario Advance games (particularly Super Mario Advance 4:SMB3 with the e-reader levels) on Virtual Console.

Man, I wish they'd be willing to revisit more realistic concepts like that in a modern title, since racing sims are something sorely missing from Nintendo's lineup.
I actually decided to emulate Super Mario Bros & Friends When I Grow Up while waiting for my match in a tournament. It was fun.

I'm surprised this video didn't include All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros, a Famicom exclusive title based on the radio show All Night Nippon.
It was mostly the same as the original Super Mario Bros, but with the redrawn graphics featured in Super Mario Bros 2 (aka The Lost Levels), and a small number of SMB2 levels.

I was hoping that the sweater designer would have a peripheral that actually knits a full sweater for you, a la Wallace's Knit-o-matic from *A Close Shave* (although probably without the sheep shearing part)
I used to have a Mario card for a Brother embroidery machine. That was also over 10 years ago, though.
I hope intelligent systems for once makes a new Advance Wars that actually has better online play. Advance Wars days of ruin is the best game in the series and most definitely the most balanced game in the series and it came out in 2008 for the Nintendo DS. Awesome game with more customisation available for making your custom maps and much more balance among different military units and COs but unfortunately the online was not very good with that game.
