    Keep the Thunderstroke 116 air cooled for sure. It is as iconic and reliable as HDs Evolution engine of the 80s & 90s except it pumps horse power and torque.
    I love my Chief Darkhorse 116.

    I test several Indians last Friday in Peoria, AZ and one of the things I mentioned to the Indian guy there was that I'd love to have the Super Chief but with the PowerPlus engine. He just had a little smile but no answer. That makes me think that perhaps that wonderful engine WILL be put in some of their other bikes (hopefully the Chief lineup).

    The liquid cooled engines are not for everyone. They may make more power but they don't look or sound as good. Indian would be smart to keep the Thunderstroke in the lineup for as long as possible, possibly forever. If they stop making air cooled before HD does, it would be very bad for the company.

      I have a 2023 scout rogue with a k&N performance air filter and freedom performance exhaust and it should great. The dude I work with has a 2024 street bob with Vance and heins and he said my bike sounds better than his. I agree. But sounds are just like everything else some people like different ones than others.

    • @doyle7174
      @doyle7174 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Every bike in the Indian should be liquid cooled! Indians best sellers are the Scout & Challenger, both liquid cooled. Scout & Challenger sound great with a aftermarket exhaust and make great power. If they want to keep a slow & hot air cooled they can just keep it a classic model and they'll sell very few of them.

      The debate of AC vs WC is no longer needed. Ever since WC out performed, more reliable. The debate is done. Sound is not an issue as you can change the sound vial intake and/or exhaust.

    One thing I wish Indian would do is make sure their bikes start without an issue in cold weather. My coworker has a street Bob and that Harley starts everytime during the winter. I live in Philly so it gets cold. My neighbor has a Yamaha mt09 and that starts everyday of the year. It's only October 15th and 42 degrees outside and my 2023 Indian scout rogue won't turn over. I keep it in a shed far away from any outlet cause I live in an apartment so that's my only option. I love Indian but I'm thinking of trading it in for a MT10 cause this will be my second winter and I ride all year long.

      Switch your oil to full synthetic. AMSOIL would be the recommendation as it is good for child weather starting. I use it now in my 2023 scout and have stayed my bike in near 0'c temperatures.

      Yeah I personally know 2 people who started on a scout and sold it right away cause it was too much power for them to start on. I started on a Honda monkey rode it for a year and bought a 2023 scout rogue although I went from 9 horsepower to 100 it was a very easy transition as soon as I got the basics down but it was like going from a horse to a rocket. The whole horse power and torque war between Harley and Indian is likely to soon come to an end. I recently purchased a 24 Harley Street Glide 117 and there is absolutely no need for any more power. Most roads you can't even use that much power. Definitely makes it a challenge to control the throttle so you aren't getting speeding tickets everywhere you go 😂

    Why in the world would they consider getting rid of the fixed fairing? Spent some time talking with a HD buddy of mine (works for, not just rides) and the Road Glide (fixed fairing) is becoming the more popular model out of the baggers and can even be purchased as a Touring (full bags/trunk). Getting rid of that would just push someone who is looking to get a new bike but with fixed away from Indian and back towards HD. I love my Softail to death, but with the wife and I getting ready to start spending more time on the road vs at home, we're going to pick up a touring soon, and I've already decided it'll be Fixed. If Indian drops the fixed (and no previous models are available/or I can't find any used I like), that'll just send me to HD or Honda (Goldwing).
