      If someone wanted to put way too much time into developing the concept, some sort of detent that held the hammer heads in the "folded" position and didn't release and allow the heads to swing freely until the grinder was up to speed may also help.

    Grinder idea: Weld a length(or multiple lengths ) of chain to it with a weighted spiked ball on the end of the chain welded to the grinder, like some kind of automatic flail.

    I like the copper block vs grinder. You can use the same block in all the videos and watch it get more and more damaged . Maybe use it as the last thing in the video as it might destroy some of the tools.

    The hammers need a stiff spring to keep them in the hammering position. They need to be as stiff as possible while allowing them to deflect off the object being hit and to rebound to the ready position. I speak as an expert but really have no clue or experience, just seems like it would be an improvement!

    Could you turn on the mechanism and then lower it down to the nail as it's spinning? That way the mechanism is already to full speed before it begins hitting the nail. That way the nail won't immediately bend. I feel like that would work and you could drive the nail all the way into the wood

      A friend of my father made something like this. Only the wheel was about two meters in diameter and I think he only had two axes mounted to it. Spun up to a decent spin he used it to chop wood. Amazingly he died as the heart gave out and still with all fingers and toes even after using his insane wood chopper for about ten years.

    Just an idea: could you attach some pencils/brushes to the grinder? That could be useful if you need to colour a drawing, it would speed up the task dramatically; I would have loved it as a kid when in school I was assigned to draw/paint.

    You need to get rid of that huge weighty disc in the centre? Angle grinders are designed to spin much thinner low weight items. The centre should be very thin, and doing so should significantly increase the RPM's. Especially with the knives, they felt so bottlenecked by the huge thick piece of metal. Maybe less so for the hammer heads, but I'm sure they'd still go much faster with a much thinner disc...

    How much do you trust your safety shields? I'd love to see you put a grinding stone wheel on the grinder and plunge it down into a piece of steel until the wheel breaks. There'd be lots of sparks and then pieces flying. It should look good on the high speed camera.

    In the US, there was a weed whacker (edging trimmer) head made of bicycle chains. When it hit rocks and masonry, the chains would break and go off like bullets in uncontrolled directions.

    the timing of the hammers striking the object and then rebounding off of it to clear the spin is almost perfect... did you actually design it this way or did you get lucky that it just happened to do this? Put that on a hydraulic motor and you have an item....

    You need a stiff spring on the back of the hammer as a flexible spine. It lets the hammer go back when hit but quickly returns it to ready position, no need to rely on high speed, centrifugal force.

    I don’t know if others have pointed this out but a powered rotating hammer is actually a real thing and not the imaginings of an insane person.
    Scrap metal yards use powered rotating hammers to shred things.
    A large drum of hammers weighing about sixty kilograms each are spun at high speed and objects like cars and fridges get feed to it and turned into confetti.
