Great video. I'm 60 next month and have found that I'm really enjoying art. My preferred mediums at the moment are charcoal and, pen and ink, I'd love to be able to extend this to graphite as well after seeing the amazing results you can obtain with a little patience. I know I'm too late for the giveaway, but a car that I would love to be able to draw is a dusty old Hillman Minx that my father had when we lived in Zambia for a few years. :)
Beautiful drawing. This is timely as I’ve been thinking about making an art piece with my husbands Porshe as the subject to gift to him. But besides that, I think it will be fun to draw a Voltkswagen Beetle from the 60’s. Always had an affinity for those ... ;)
Wow that grid technique, why did I never know nor think about that?! 😭 that’s so incredibly handy! I always struggled drawing the right proportions when doing a car so I juist quitted. I’m gonna restart and hope for the best 💪🏻
Absolutely amazing well done my man I've learned more in this one time lapse video than I have in the hundreds of videos in the past. The car I would like to draw is a tough choice but I've always been a fan of the Buick Grand National, you may find it too simple but I have always had trouble with the proportion, thanks for the fantastic video you are by far the best instructor I have seen, Cheers!
I always will have fond memories of my grandfathers Jaguar E-Type from when I was a child. A beautiful and iconic car as well as a memory passageway to childhood for myself personally. He really loved that car. Great video thank you for the time and effort. I did not know eraser/rubber pens were a thing... Looking forward to the ones I have ordered arriving.
Great drawing Matt, I really want to give this a try. I’d love to see you draw an old truck, I don’t know what make or model, that’s beyond me but any kind of open back truck as long as it’s old and well loved. It’s 2.35am here but you have made me want to draw. Lol ✏️ 🙂
Wow! This is the style I'd love to learn. I'd love to draw a 1957 chevy bel air. Definitely going to check out the 7 day trial to see if this might just be what I've been looking for.
Thank you, that was really cool! I watched this with my 2 youngest children and my 8 year old son said I should comment that we'd like to see a 1965 Ford Bronco. :)
My dad had for years a blue Ford pickup. I think it was a 1966 F-150, and inspite it being significantly rusted, I really enjoyed that truck. I always had delusions o f restoring it one day, but my dad sold it before would every be in position to do so. He also had a red 56 ford that I love too, but the blue pick up was the one I the most childhood memories.
I love doing old cars,( rusty and forgotten ). I take pictures on my phone of subjects. Then transfer it to a app that puts the grid on it and draw from that. This allows you to zoom in on individual squares. Has made a world of difference in my work
Hi Matt! I love your videos. I did make a drawing of an old car. It wasn’t too bad but there are few mistakes. It was combination of two photos and that’s where the difficulty came in, especially with sun shadows. I wish to redo the drawing of this old packard car. Too bad I cannot attach it here. Thank you for your lessons! You are amazing artist ❤
Love this video! And a real fan of sports cars 😍 my favourite is the Lamborghini Terracan, but I also plan to make a drawing of my own vehicle in graphite. Already have the photo ready to go. ☺️
Very nice! I love to draw and to watch others too! And I would love to draw a 57 Belaire or my second choice would be the later 50 s model Corvette. Their style has changed quite a bit and I loved them all for different reasons.
awesome video i never usually have the patience to watch videos over 5 minutes but your voice was very relaxing and informative, not to mention the amazing drawing. you have helped me a lot :)
your work is amazing i normally use coloured pencils but have just got into graphite and love it. i would like to see 1973 TRIUMPH TR6 in graphite so i can see difference between tone values on reflections on windscreen to tone values on the open car.
I’d like to see a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A. It’s got some matte areas and I’d like to see how that’s done. Amazing drawing, and as usual, great content!
Hi David, great suggestion. I love Chargers - in fact, I've owned 2 of them - a 2011 base Charger and then a 2016 SRT 392. I miss the SRT 392. Always wanted a 1970 - perhaps one day...
Amazing! I don't really like pencils for drawing cars because I'm an absolute mess with them, but as a guy that mostly draws cars and motorcycles this is kind of interesting, I'll give it a try someday
What you say at the end is totally true. Our work is going to outlast us and will remain as proof that we existed and created this wonderful drawing(s) ...I am going to try this. I would have liked to join your classes but I'm afraid I cant afford it.
Hope that I'm the first person from kerala , india to be comment 😍 , thank your sir for ur effort for making this kind of video , hope there will be more interesting and informative video
Amazing,so realistic, I probably couldn’t duplicate the drawing. My friend in high school had a 76 orange barracuda that we used to cruise in lol. I would like to draw that car and give it to her.
Good day sir am amazed at these videos but the thing is I always have an eye to draw especially cars then I can draw but can paint or rather shade this good So I would like to ask what type of pencil did you use to draw that car. Am a car enthusiast and that drawing is amazing. So my questions are: Name of pencil or pen? Name of paper? And name of erazer
Love the car drawing! I'm a sticker for detail! I'd like to see a 1953 chevy truck done. Stock or custom. Or one all rusted setti g in the trees just lost in the past. Good title for it.
Im 16 and i really want to get into car designing in future. Drawing cars fascinates me no matter what type of car but for now I’m thinking about drawing a realistic tractor 😁
Best tool in your toolbox is "Patience"! Great video to share with my students!
This is more than impressive

Very realistic drawing! I love to draw cars, but I am still very far from such small details and accurate drawing!

Excellent hyperealistic sketch 👍👍
I would like to draw a Cadillac Eldorado from 1959! It’s my favorite! We had a Cadillac at our wedding almost 11 years ago, and still love it. 😍

That's a beautiful car, did it had the inline 6 or the v12?
@Sean Ade Unfortunately I do not know. I was really young at the time and he isn't around anymore to ask.

Incredible. All those different shades and you still made it look like a black Porche!!!! Awesome. A Jaguar XK120 would make a wonderful drawing 😁😉

I honestly would love to draw any vintage car in graphite, especially the Rolls Royce Phantom or the Ford Model T
Also that's a very amazing drawing
That was incredible! I would like to be able to draw a late 60s Camaro.
So inspiring! But can I ask you about the repherence photo?

You really made it looks so easy. Iwant your skill please
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Where can i get the reference image
Tell me, did you draw the whole drawing with one pencil? Or did you draw with soft pencils behind the scenes?
About 3 different pencils are used if u watch carefully.
Just out of interest what lead holder do you use and would you recommend it?
Staedtler Lead Holder
How many hours did you take to draw this?
Love the car drawing! I'm a sticker for detail! I'd like to see a 1953 chevy truck done. Stock or custom. Or one all rusted setti g in the trees just lost in the past. Good title for it.

Just wow
My mom used to have a Fiat Punto, I’m not sure which model exactly. But is was small and cute and “round” and looked like an easy target for drawing.
The trees in the background wow me even more than the car
I used to own a 1974 Dodge Challenger (quite unique over here in the UK!) I'd like to be able to draw that 🚗
Wow Amazing 👍👋wish I could draw like that I can only use illustrator on my computer☺
Thank you
Unbelievable. I thought that it was a photo when I saw it first😅
