I still dont get how Lothor has nieces in Space, my headcanon is that he married an elderly rich empress and took the empire when she died, and he also became an uncle to that woman's nieces
Always hated how the Sensei just handwaves it away by saying "Once a Ninja is banished they cease to exist." Yeah Sensei, genetics doesn't change because of Ninja law. Lothor is still your brother by blood.
I must be the only one who likes the comedic villains. One of my favorite lines in Power Rangers is Lothor in his megazord in the finale, "This is the most fun I've had all season!"
I think the comedic villains are good, if done right. My favorite example is Evil Emperor Zurg from “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command,” a humorous bad guy who you could still believe is a credible threat. As for Lothor, I thought he was fine, though he might’ve been better if he wasn’t the first Disney PR big bad (maybe iron out the writing kinks and then have him as humorous but threatening). Other decent comedic PR villains IMO are Sledge and Poisondra, Zedd after The Wedding (especially Changing of the Zords and when he and Rita vaporized the Ninja MMPR coins), and even Divatox (her rivalry with Astronema was entertaining).
@@ZayTh3God I always thought Divatox was hilarious, especially Hilary Shepard's take because she just goes full ham, but I get why people are annoyed by her.
So. Fun fact. One of the new students is the same actor who plays Connor in Dino Thunder. Connor talks about him as his twin brothet who went to a secret ninja school.
I always found funny and cool that Lothor seemed aware that he's in a Power Rangers show and willingly reinforces the "rules" (defeating the rangers when morphed, sending one monster at a time, etc) only to reveal that it was all of his master plan in the end to amass a sudden overwhelming advantage.
The whole “must be in their Ranger form” line should have been “defeating them while weakened is meaningless and is dishonourable”. This would have actually given Lothor some character outside of being goofy and could have been the base for him to be a solid villain
The problem would have been then a conflict with past Lothor stealing and blaming an innocent to get the pendant like what years wandering space made him more honorable but no less evil?
@ it’s not so much that blamed Cam for it being stolen, but he was disguised in the way that made them think it was Cam. An easy way this could have been resolved was to just have him wear something different when stealing the pendant
In retrospect, Lothor probably just wanted to avoid any chance of the Morphin Masters doing a bullshit deus ex machina Yes Dino Fury's lore bothers me, how can you tell?
@ considering current lore, that’s what the reason likely would have been. Back then, it would have been just to make an excuse to not have the villains attack and give the team enough time to recover and get back into fighting shape

Not gonna lie. Being a Power Ranger fan for all my life and growing into my adult years watching TH-camrs like Linkara, The Disney Brain & Este for content regarding Power Rangers, this series of videos you've been doing on EVERY season are my favorite. How you break down every episode rather than just speaking on who's strong, who's weak and who's just there. Like I do watch your other videos but like. Your fandom of the Power Rangers honestly impresses me in ways that can only be explained by watching you talk about them. Watching you approach what's considered MY Era of Power Rangers (Wild Force - Mystic Force) has me excited. But always know, the fandom is out there in spades, We might be in different places but we all have the same love for the same thing. And you, sir, are definitely appreciated
As someone who worked in managment. I found lothor strangely relatable. Like i found his annoyance with his generals and nieces to be so relatable to how i felt about some of my "less gifted" workers. It was so strange watching this season i adored as a child and walking away from some episodes, now as an adult, thinking "man i really feel for lothor there, he just wants things to go his way." because thats how i felt at work. His comedic nature also makes him a fun villain to watch if you get into that style of humor. Overall i still love this season immensely, and its a fun watch to this day. Cant wait for this series to get the jungle fury. My favorite underrated season
This was, and still is, both the silliest and most down-to-earth PR series ever. Should be noted that this is the first series to have insect-themed rangers and zords. Considering that this, technically, is the first Power Ranger series of the Disney era, it having its sixth ranger be green with gold armor and play an instrument to summon a zord is a convenient homage to the first sixth ranger.
Fun thing about Lothor; He's both one of the silliest and yet also one of the most well written villains in that he has multiple sides to him. Add to that the fact that he ACTUALLY almost won and the rangers had to resort to sealing him away, and yeah, he's definitely interesting.

Cam is also one of my favourite rangers and also another strong green ranger to add to the already strong Green Ranger cast. He and Dustin are definitely are the main highlight of this season. Love them both. He also did the Samurai mode before Power Rangers Samurai.
My headcanon is that Lother was just doing his in-laws a solid and watching his nieces for the summer. That to him, all this was basically just a light vacation. This is why when he actually does enact his final plan, it very nearly succeeds with little issue despite not needing much setup. This is why he imprisoned his nieces at the end- not because he feared their betrayal, but because it was the one time he was actually going for a serious fight, and he didn't want them to get killed. This is why there is so much disloyalty and dissatisfaction among his generals- they know or suspect that Lother is just screwing around.
The fear episode is a bit hard to watch considering what we now know. For those they don’t know the actors that played Shane, Pua Magasiva, un-alived himself in 2019. Basically he had a heated argument, possibly while he was drunk, and hit her. How you feel about that the fact that is mind decided to ending in all is still tragic. Also, the guy that played Shane’s brother was Pua’s actual brother.
One funny part of the show was when Shane and Dustin were ogling on the computer doing stuff. The Cam walked in and said, "You guys better not be doing something illegal." I don't know why that stuck out, but it always got me rolling. 🤣🤣

11:34: I think what he's trying to imply is that if they are killed unmorphed, they can just give the power to someone else, but if they are destroyed while morphed, that section of the morphing grid is also destroyed, but yeah, that was a really cluncky way of saying that.
The first power rangers season i ever watched, the pure nostalgia I get just from seeing the suit designs or hearing the theme song cannot be matched by anything else, NINJA STORM RANGER FORM HA!!!
You're message at the very end was wonderful. And I felt the same way for being the power rangers guy with my friends and not being able to talk about it. But, your videos have had me start watching the show again, and also share the best parts of the show with my best friend. He remembers mmpr and we have just finished jungle fury. I'll be looking forward to every Power Rangers video you put out! I've got notifications on for your channel and I can't wait!
They could've made the Wild Force/Ninja Storm crossover work. All they had to do was have the Wild Force Rangers be morphed for the majority of the episode, and then have body doubles or stand-ins for scenes where all the Rangers are unmorphed and talking to each other, but Ninja Storm Rangers are facing the camera. Kinda like what Saban did with Jason, Zack and Trini after their respective actors left MMPR and before The Power Transfer. And if there's any unused stock footage from Wild Force, they could use it in the crossover episode.
Also, the intro opening, major bop....also it's the first opening since Mighty Morphin season 1 to use episode footage on the characters instead of using intro exclusive character shots just coming in and smiling towards the camera, it all continued throughout the Disney era excluding SPD.
fun fact about this season, the ninja rangers and thunder rangers were supposed be two separate teams in one series, explaining why they showed up so soon, and have red and blue adjacent colours despite there already being red and blue rangers on the main team. however the fact that they were never really in opposition to the main team, the fact they were almost always working with and combining their zords with the main team, the fact only the main team was in the title, and just the fact they only had 2 members as opposed to 3, it all made them feel like the 2 extra members of the main team to round out the standard 5 man band rather than a whole other team. super sentai would later retackle the idea with lupin ranger vs pat ranger, and they managed to pull it off way better. it helped that this team they had 3 members on each team.
Lupin Ranger Vs Pat Ranger was such a great way of handling the dual team plot especially with how even a good chunk into the story they were hesitant to rely on the others.
I’m so glad that didn’t happen that pitch seemed to much like fan fiction and wouldn’t work with the budget they had too much original footage and they won’t be able to blend it well
@@krasherom Only problem being that the longer the series went on, the more focus the Lupinrangers got and the more shafted the Patrangers got. I wanted to see more of the Patrangers than the Lupinrangers.
I’m excited for the Dino Thunder video, I grew up with DT on VHS and it was always my favorite season to watch as a kid, even not really understanding the significance of Tommy being in it
@ yeah but it’s also kinda all I care about to be fair… I like the concept of relearning these stories I watched as a kid more than putting in the hours of time to watch a show meant for 8 year olds
@@tyroberts8586 ummm what? Did you read something COMPLETELY different than what I actually said/typed? 😅 it’s not that PR wasn’t “for me” anymore….i just quit watching cuz again,it seemed like it would never end,and they seemed like they were running out of ideas after SPD 😅
This show brought my friends and I back into Power Rangers when we were in high school, also having Pua Magasiva (RIP) a familiar face in pacific television helped a bit
I love these videos, brings back good memories. Something interesting that occurred to me is Shane does a strain in his voice when morphed, which is similar to what Jason did in MMPR and Zeo when morphed.
YES! I was waiting for this one! The final battle is my absolute favorite in the franchise since, as far as I know, it's the only one where they fight, and win, unmorphed ^^
I heard that. For the "crossover episode" portion you used Meaning of Birth as the background music. The Asch boss theme from Tales of the Abyss. :D Also, the retroactive brilliance of Lothor's plan is something I love. Literally the whole series he's just screwing around because every failure builds up to his Abyss of Evil gambit. I feel like it was a great way to justify the silliness we saw for this villain squad.
Your segment at the end there Connor, 100% I know that feeling. Growing up I was never able to talk to anybody about my true love for power rangers until many years later. In 2021 I discovered Brennan Mejia (Dino Charge Red) had a twitch channel. I built up the courage to speak with him in his streams and If not for him I wouldn't have all my new friends I talk with today, and thanks to the people of Power Morphicon I managed to find many more friends including yourself. Definitely keep up the great work on these videos and I certainly can't wait to see your Dino Thunder Video.
Was wondering if Hexagon would get a mention. I know a lot of people find it interesting but I really don't think it would have worked out that well. I'm glad we got Ninja Storm instead!
It's a interesting concept and I could see it working in the comics. It's way too expensive for it to work on TV. Disney threw around either just dubbing the Senti or playing reruns and not doing any adaptation. They barely got Forever Red to work.
Fun fact: In the sentai, the main three have jobs. But in the power rangers, the main three were into extreme sports. And the rangers and their sentai counterparts have opposite personalities. Red in power rangers: serious minded no nonsense, skateboarder Red in sentai: enthusiastic optimist, window cleaner Blue in power rangers: tomboy you don’t want to mess with, surfer Blue in sentai: excitable bubbly, inspiring singer (whose songs actively make me want to vomit) Yellow in power rangers: easygoing forgetful, motocross rider Yellow in sentai: responsible level-headed, elementary school worker
From what I remember Lothor being an idiot was a part of his plan, he wanted to fill the abyss of evil with the destroyed monsters that he sent to fight the rangers for one big assault.
"Disney wanted to capture the young teen demographic." Me who was a fan since the very beginning and was 15 when MMPR first aired on August 28, 1993. 😅
That's wild brother I'm only 20 years old lmfao but I've watched everything power rangers related and read the comic too, lol idk I just forgot about the fact there would have been teenagers while mmpr came out lmfao 😂😂😂
It’s honestly a coincidence u posted this cause I checked your channel literally yesterday just to see if u had any activity then I woke up to this upload!!! It was meant to be!! Thank u for doing the Disney era!!!!
Episode 1 isn't saying the power rangers aren't real. Its saying that teens in a ninja academy were unsure if they were real or not, with one of them being sure they were. Its still weird with how public some of the ranger teams are, but its not completely insane.
I give Lothor a lot of leeway. His whole plan involved filling the Abyss of Evil. So, he had to let his army fall to the rangers. His explanation of rangers only being destroyed in their ranger form was simply him BSing his unsuspecting minions. If a minion could destroy the rangers, he'd take the win, but his ultimate goal was the Abyss. When thinking about it from that standpoint, Lothor comes off as an incredibly intelligent villain. Heck, even his past self as Kiya showed off the kind of person he was with his older self putting on a bit of a facade. I get it, I once put Lothor in the same breath as Divatox, but that lady had no plan beyond "marry the lava demon man" and general outbursts of immaturity.
This is low-key one of my favorite seasons. The villains were a treat and I like how they're self-aware of the plot because it comes back in the finale! But seriously, apart from Overdrive the Disney Era was full of banger seasons.
i have literally been checking your account every single day just to see if you posted a disney era power rangers video and the minute i saw it i stopped everything and started watching and it was so worth it !!!!!!!!
Ninja Storm was the first piece of Power Rangers media I was ever exposed to and the second series I watched from start to end. So it, alongside "Samurai", ironically enough, holds a special place in my heart. While I understand that the more humerous villains aren't for everyone, I personally loved their dynamic.
Okay, not going to lie, this season ended up being much better than I thought. Mara and Capri being actually highly intelligent in the end is a nice twist. Can't wait for your Dino Thunder video. I'm loving all of these.
40:44 I almost thought I crossed into another dimension because I could SWEAR that crossover didn't exist. But it was a fake out, you almost had me lol
Definitely looking forward to the Dino Thunder video. For me, that's THE Power Rangers season I grew up with. It's that, SPD and MMPR (through old VHSs). But Dino Thunder is the one I remember most growing up.
I wish studios would've put in more effort for the music for each power rangers the way toei does for super sentai, with unique soundtracks, longer theme songs that are actually songs and not a 1 minute jingle, MMPR stands out i think due to that epic soundtrack
@@AdamAddictL actually, it is just a coincidence, PR is a adaptation of Super Sentai(Ninja Storm being a apdatation of Ninpu Sentai Hurricanger), and beetles are something of a cultural phenomenum in japan, so it is pretty common to see beetle themed characters, the same thing goes to Beetleborgs, that is a adaptation of Juukou B-Figther, one of the seasons of Metal Hero. So no, it's not a throwback. fun fact: both Metal Hero and Super Sentai are from Toei Company, the same one that make the One Piece anime.
@@Vervict I’m sorry but that’s such an idiotic thing to say. 90s kids growing up watching Power Rangers and Beetleborgs are gonna remember them more than the Japanese stuff,so I think it could still be a reference due to the fact that they even decided to MAKE a Power Rangers show using the outfits of THAT particular Japanese series.
Don't know if you ever saw the alternate ending where Audrey 2 wins, multiplies and the world is overrun with kaiju size plant monsters but I always thought it would've been awesome to have a Megazord appear and face them right before the ending credits rolled. Lol

Cam becoming the Green Samurai Ranger was easily one of the coolest moments of the season. I could tell he was probably gonna become a ranger at some point, but the fact he wasn't only a GREEN Ranger like Tommy but also a Samurai on top of it. Made him even more badass.

however the fact that they were never really in opposition to the main team, the fact they were almost always working with and combining their zords with the main team, the fact only the main team was in the title, and just the fact they only had 2 members as opposed to 3, it all made them feel like the 2 extra members of the main team to round out the standard 5 man band rather than a whole other team.
super sentai would later retackle the idea with lupin ranger vs pat ranger, and they managed to pull it off way better. it helped that this team they had 3 members on each team.
Lupin Ranger Vs Pat Ranger was such a great way of handling the dual team plot especially with how even a good chunk into the story they were hesitant to rely on the others.
I’m so glad that didn’t happen that pitch seemed to much like fan fiction and wouldn’t work with the budget they had too much original footage and they won’t be able to blend it well
@@krasheromthat could’ve been a potential spd sequel with 2025 approaching but the franchise is on pause now unfortunately
@@krasherom Only problem being that the longer the series went on, the more focus the Lupinrangers got and the more shafted the Patrangers got. I wanted to see more of the Patrangers than the Lupinrangers.
@@comfyghost Man, sure would've loved to see him talk about this instead of wasting time recapping episodes
I’m excited for the Dino Thunder video, I grew up with DT on VHS and it was always my favorite season to watch as a kid, even not really understanding the significance of Tommy being in it
He's just going to recap each episode for an hour
@ yeah but it’s also kinda all I care about to be fair… I like the concept of relearning these stories I watched as a kid more than putting in the hours of time to watch a show meant for 8 year olds
AWESOME, I can't wait for the rest of The Disney Era. Dino Thunder, S.P.D, Mystic Force, Operation Overdrive, Jungle Fury, And RPM
Yeah it’s gonna be so cool to see how he covers the more serious parts of the series
Personally I quit after SPD…PR just seemed to keep going and going and running out of ideas after that
@@AdamAddictL that's ok. PR isn't for everyone
@@Ziythatguy personally I can't wait to see him cover The Dark Wish 3 parter in Mystic Force
Man, this was my childhood here, the awesome music, the fights, the great story where good and evil are related to each other in that plot twist
Another ridiculously good video essay, I was the same, I had NO power rangers friends until very recently, very grateful for you and the community!
How is it good? The dude just recapped each individual episode for an hour. He didn't even mention that Shane's actor is dead
@ he’s reviewing Power Rangers the show, not Power Rangers and the lives of the actors. Not everything needs to be the bigger picture
I hope you never stop these videos, they are my favorites! Thank you so much!
You know it's a good day when Conner drops a new PR video!
Yes, my month is complete! Bookmarking again for later tonight. Thanks for always doing these!
26 seconds after posted and IM SO EXCITED
I am SO happy you're covering the Disney Era. Definitely looking forward to your reaction to SPD and beyond.
Also, the retroactive brilliance of Lothor's plan is something I love. Literally the whole series he's just screwing around because every failure builds up to his Abyss of Evil gambit. I feel like it was a great way to justify the silliness we saw for this villain squad.
I’m very excited for the SPD thumbnail because of how large the Ranger cast is
Wait ‘til he gets to Dino Charge.
I think that team ended up with almost a dozen Rangers, LOL
@@jjrsbigothere are 10 rangers by the end of both seasons. RPM has 8 rangers
What can we say. Once a ranger always a ranger especially when your team is all over the world. Can’t wait for the other entries in this series
5:42 "A Force is Coming" is what saved it, the moment they used it in zord fights. simple, elegant, and rock-hard.
WAFFLEEEE, WELCOME BACK!!!! No matter how long it takes, I'll be following you through these retrospective Power Rangers videos, good luck bro!
Red in power rangers: serious minded no nonsense, skateboarder
Red in sentai: enthusiastic optimist, window cleaner
Blue in power rangers: tomboy you don’t want to mess with, surfer
Blue in sentai: excitable bubbly, inspiring singer (whose songs actively make me want to vomit)
Yellow in power rangers: easygoing forgetful, motocross rider
Yellow in sentai: responsible level-headed, elementary school worker
From what I remember Lothor being an idiot was a part of his plan, he wanted to fill the abyss of evil with the destroyed monsters that he sent to fight the rangers for one big assault.
Please get this man to 1 mil I've been watching him for so long
Yooooooooooo been waiting what feels like forever for the next season!!! 56:15 My favorite season is next!

"Disney wanted to capture the young teen demographic."
Me who was a fan since the very beginning and was 15 when MMPR first aired on August 28, 1993. 😅
That's wild brother I'm only 20 years old lmfao but I've watched everything power rangers related and read the comic too, lol idk I just forgot about the fact there would have been teenagers while mmpr came out lmfao 😂😂😂
I was born 94 but still watched every season since MMPR since it was always on Rerun in-between seasons lol
It’s honestly a coincidence u posted this cause I checked your channel literally yesterday just to see if u had any activity then I woke up to this upload!!! It was meant to be!! Thank u for doing the Disney era!!!!

In retrospect, Lothor probably wants to avoid a certain deus ex machina introduced in a certain season 20 years later
Megashit?
@@bigm00dthesergalgamer I think he meant in Dino Fury, kind of been hearing about that part.
@@nightshroud9671 Oh yeah that makes more sense, I was thinking Megaforce cause it's the 20th anniversary, but it came out 10 years after ninja storm.
Connor Storm! Waffle Form!
😂
Episode 1 isn't saying the power rangers aren't real. Its saying that teens in a ninja academy were unsure if they were real or not, with one of them being sure they were.
Its still weird with how public some of the ranger teams are, but its not completely insane.
At the end of the day man I appreciate these videos. You’ve put some good back into this world.
I’m so glad u continued. These videos are great.
Wake up boys, Conner's entered the Disney seasons of Power Rangers

This is what we’ve all been waiting for my brothers 🤩

40:44 I almost thought I crossed into another dimension because I could SWEAR that crossover didn't exist. But it was a fake out, you almost had me lol
Definitely looking forward to the Dino Thunder video. For me, that's THE Power Rangers season I grew up with. It's that, SPD and MMPR (through old VHSs). But Dino Thunder is the one I remember most growing up.
Because honestly Dino Thunder was way better then Both SPD and MMPR 😅
I wish studios would've put in more effort for the music for each power rangers the way toei does for super sentai, with unique soundtracks, longer theme songs that are actually songs and not a 1 minute jingle, MMPR stands out i think due to that epic soundtrack
Ninja Storm, Thunder Storm, Samurai Storm!

Dude, I just watched your Wiled Force video just a just a few minutes before this showed up today. It’s like magic!
The Thunder Ranger helmets always remind me of the Beetleborgs
I wonder if that could have actually been the point? A throwback reference maybe? Seeing as how Beetleborgs was a 90s show just like the OG PR??
@ when put that way, I can see it. Plus most of the Machine Empire generals in Forever Red were Beetleborgs too.
Just had a bad day at work and literally love that you finally released this one. Love your content. all Hail Connor the Waffle God.
14:45 LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS REFERENCE LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
