    This was the best part of Goodwood FOS, I wanted to cry. Jackie Stewart is one of the biggest legends in motorsports. We are very lucky to witness him still after 50 years since his first WC.

    Jackie Stewart and Ken Tyrrell what a combination, Jackie never signed a contract with Ken ,two true gentlemen of motor sport.

    • @allainangcao28
      @allainangcao28 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mainly because of the sad fact that Jackie was dyslexic so even if Ken gave him a physical contract, he wouldn’t be able to read it so it was more of a verbal contract or someone got to read it out for Jackie.

    The rose took her straight back to the 70s and glory days. What a magnificent gesture from a magnificent person to another. Amazing, tears in my eyes.

    The best moment of the whole FOS! Jackie Stewart is beyond a national treasure, beyond a racing great, he's one of the worlds racing gods! Giving the flower to his wife was the highlight of the weekend.

    This Matra MS80 is still a beautifull F1 car. The Tyrrels 1971 and 1973 also makes me happy to see and remember that the F1 Circus was something that we don't have anymore. Jackie Stewart, François Cévert, Emerson Fittipaldi and Ronnie Peterson, and many others were specials pilots that we don't have now. I had the pleasure to see the cars and the pilots racing in Brasil, my country, at Interlagos in 1973.

    Sir Jackie is incredible at 80, sharp as a tack, and a true hero. Delightful to see too, the lovely Lady Helen looking well.
    I and my girlfriend of the time (whom I married 29 wonderful years ago) were lucky enough to venture to Gleneagles Hotel, one day in our late teens, in my first car. We were stretching our budget beyond all reason. And we lunched at the Dormy House. It was very special.
    But to find Sir Jackie and Lady Helen lunching at the next table made a memory for a lifetime!

    Although I can't stand Jackie Stewart, he is one of the top 6 greats who doesn't get his due credit, being overshadowed by Jim Clark.
    Stewart did more in lesser cars than Clark did, and won 3 WDC when almost everybody on the grid had the same engine and tyres.

    • @larryboyes7276
      @larryboyes7276 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lesser cars? The BRM won a WC before Jimmy did. And Jimmy was dead by the time JYS won his first title. This is not to detract from either driver. It is factual information.
      And, FWIW, no one could lace Jimmy's boots. (JYS will tell you the same.)
      And I doubt anyone ever will. No matter how many GP wins they have to their name.

      @@SirOliverNorwell Yes we know that, but it doesn't make it a Ford car does it. You wouldn't call a McLaren-Honda a Honda would you.
