- Upon hearing that Anne Hathaway will be starring in a comedy title The Intern, one might get flashbacks from the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada. In fact, as these new clips from the Nancy Meyers' comedy reveal, not only is Hathaway in the top executive position this time around, her intern is 70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker (Robert De Niro). It's an interesting role reversal that allows Hathaway's fashion entrepreneur Jules Ostin to lean on Whittaker's time-tested experience when needed, while also bringing the Senior Citizen into the modern era by introducing him to social media and cutting-edge technology.
We have a batch of seven clips to share with you from The Intern that highlight De Niro's poise and comfort with the young cast alongside his character's willingness to dole out sage advice in a grandfatherly manner. The tone is also quite different from The Devil Wears Prada in that the online fashion company appears to exist in a very positive and supportive environment, as opposed to the cutthroat office of Miranda Priestly. I think it's safe to say that if you enjoyed Meyers' previous films, then The Intern should be on your list. Also starring Rene Russo, Anders Holm, Andrew Rannells, Adam Devine, Celia Weston, Nat Wolff, Linda Lavin and Zack Perlman, The Intern opens September 25th.

Pictures’ “The Intern.” Oscar-nominated and award-winning filmmaker Nancy Meyers (“It’s Complicated,” “Something’s Gotta Give,” “Private Benjamin”) is directing the dramatic comedy from her own screenplay.
In “The Intern,” De Niro stars as Ben Whittaker, a 70-year-old widower who has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Hathaway).

There’s a clip in the movie (which wasn’t added into this video) where Ben is sitting at the table and typing on his computer, trying to make himself look busy in order to avoid Jules and pretending to be tired. She comes at the table and tries to make a conversation with him and what I love most about that specific scene the way she senses that something is off and asks him “You’re tired? That’s why you haven’t looked at me once since I came here?”, Ben responding finally looking into her eyes “I am looking at you”, followed by a few seconds of staring into eachother’s eyes. Anne Hathway acting was ON point that scene because she played so good the part where she’s analyzing him with her eyes. Underrated movie.

Amazing movie ! Highly recommended for watching ! You will gain a lot and actually it touched me personally somehow because I do look like Hathaway in the movie , looking great and confident but deep inside messed up and need a real friend to lean on! Can't wait for the DVD ! Will definitely buy it !!

Anne is such a striking beauty, I LOVE the contrast between her dark hair and white sweater in that final scene.
I love this film
The scene that got to me the most was the eginning, when he was making video resume. It really made me think. What do I do after I retire? I will have way too much time on my hand. But sitting at home in front of computer all day would deteriorate me, physically and mentally. Gotta keep moving.
