- Here I discuss the Matthew Shardlake series written by the late great C. J. Sansom who sadly passed away only a week ago at the age of 71. I discuss the adapatations of this series as well as various different aspects of the books. In this I also discuss the drama of the first book which launched on Disney plus/ Hulu last week (the series being called Shardlake). Arthur Hughes, who plays Matthew Shardlake has a disability but at the time of filming I couldn't recall the name of it. If you are interested it is radial dysplacia. Below are links to the various adapatations/ audio books of the series if you want to look into them further:

Lovely to see you Becky. This is one of my favourite book series. I am yet to see the TV series. I am excited by the Stories of My Soul series. Thank you for them.
Dissolution was my favourite book of last year. When I was reading Dark Fire in February I had to stop reading for a day or two after Shardlake suffers a loss (iykyk). Unfortunately that week our dog got suddenly ill and we had to have her put down. It was hard to pick Dark Fire up again but I did finish it and enjoyed it. I am waiting for the memory of that time to dissipate before the next book because the death of my pup is now associated with the book, I can't help it. Matthew Shardlake is my favourite fictional character so I won't be able to stay away for long. I listened to a different book read by Anton Lesser and I agree, he is incredible and his voices are amazing, especially his old women.
I am very glad they had a smaller budget. If they had had a massive budget it would have been ruined. like everything else that ends up on Disney. They would have put a Jarwa in it or something.
