Sylvia Path, also known as Frieda's mother, brought me here. I was wondering why people didn't mention a single word about about Plath during the whole interview. We all know that Sylvia wrote diaries, poetry and prose during her lifetime and probably Frieda was inspired by her mother's story.
Well she was very young when her mom died, just 2 or 3 years old, and she has been trying to separate herself from her mother’s creations ever since. I don’t blame her for not speaking about her mom here.
I think it’s because they wanted to focus on Frieda. Frieda has talked in her poetry and in interviews about wanting to be seen as her own person so they were probably respecting that.

guilherme maciel The same thing hit my mind.
Because people deserve to have their own work recognised and be their own person rather than constantly living in the shadow of their parents.
CezL they mentioned her father though??
Frieda can stand on her own with no mention of either parent. She a good artist and a great poet.

Plath not as respected in UK being American and a woman
