    What a brilliant review. Particularly showing a closer view with your other camera. It was really nice to be able to better view the trees that way. The only observation from m my own point of view, is that to me, Acebeam usually has a better beam profile than Thrunite and are usually slightly better finished. This veiw is from having collected over a hundred flashlights. A dozen each of Acebeam and Thrunite (mad i know. Such is life). An excellent review with no rubbish in it. Please keep up the good work.

    Incredibly helpful review for the type of lights we’re looking at, with a no nonsense approach...seems like you were kinda hoping the acebeam stayed on top, but that added to the fun of watching this...keep ‘em coming...hard to keep up with the jones’ with these things! Sure wish these things had built in chargers, maybe with some kinda slide feature to allow batteries to be charged while installed...love the concept of placing flashlight down on a slide in charger so it’s always charged fully when I pick it up.

      Thanks for watching. Yes the UI on the acebeam has me hooked compared to the tn42. But the brighter one won.

      Haven't tried the step down yet but do know the TN42 seems to stay cooler. So much so I think you could run it until the batteries drop down too far without any worries but haven't ran it that long yet. The Acebeam gets pretty hot after 10 minutes or so compared to the TN42

      the best flashlight should have a good durability, have a good lumen, also not getting hotter when using it a long hour while it is on.

    Very nice review Scannerguy. When you hold those light together, is like Starwars man. Firstly i swear it on the K70, but after this video, i can not choose. you made it very difficult for me man. I going to buy both of them. Hahaha.
    Those torchs is like a smartphone. they keep on coming with more Lm and more range at beam. Wonder What will be the next Trowing king. Btw scannerguy thank you for the video. Thumps up scannerguy.

      Thanks, My guess is a Thrunite TN52 that's driven harder for more throw or an Acebeam K80 that has the head like the TN42. Of course guessing but seems to me both lights have something the other doesn't . Either a larger reflector or driven harder.

    Yes, this convinces me. That Thrunite TN42 really stands out, once you get to the 600 + M shots. Well done.
    I don't have much use for a BIG thrower like these. The K60 does well in a middle of the throw/spill road for me. But, my collection is missing a big thrower like these, so I might just . . . : - )

    "Square rutt" lol. No but great vids Scannerguy1968! There aren't really all too many in depth videos showcasing flashlights like these so thank you for taking the time to post these. Absolutely earned yourself a like, fave and a subscriber. Keep posting vids like these. What do you use these lights for btw? Are they for some kind of work? Or are they just for recreational/just in case type of purposes? I've been collecting high powered flashlights since maybe around two years ago and I collect them pretty much just because I'm a lumen junkie and love having them for when I go camping/just in case.

      Was just for fun and wanted a great thrower but now companies keep sending me lights to review. Kinda getting to be like work now. I have 30 plus High end lights on the shelf now. Going to lay all of them on a board and make a video of every one on at the same time. Then sell some off I guess

    Just a question fenix TK47 1300 lumens is claiming 2,297ft(700) that's that mean there throwing longer range the both flashlight? As you can see fenix tk47 is cheaper than both lights and also the size of the tk47 can be used as weapon fo self defense.

    Thanks again for the great comparison video of these two great throwers!! It was because of your first video on the K70 that made me purchase my K70 (and I finally got my video review done on it)
    What I like about the K70 is the momentary button and being able to pre select the output setting with the magnetic selector ring!! And also being able to select easily while it is on! However on the new Thrunite I like that it tells you the battery status and that it runs normal protected 18650 cells as I had to purchase special (good quality) high drain batteries for the K70. (Where all my other lights run protected cells) Also it appears the Thrunite's LED is not overdriven like the K70's which would mean the Thrunite would have a longer life compared to the K70 and like you said the K70 gets hot fast on high so for say search and rescue the Thrunite would be the better choice as it only was warm after you running it 30 minutes....well that's my two cents thanks again for the great comparison!!!

      Thank You scannerguy1968 what I really need to get to improve my video reviews is a better camera for the beam shots!! The camera you are using ( I believe the Nikon D600 ) for your beam shots is awesome but a bit out of my price range!! Any suggestions on a good camera for beam Shots? I am seriously looking into the Bridge Cameras like the Canon sx60 ( 65x optical zoom)HS, Nikon models p610 (60x optical zoom) or p900 (83x optical zoom) and also the Panasonic LUMIX dmc-fz70 (60x optical but with an ISO up to 6400). I really like the super zoom cameras as I am into astronomy and aircraft and of course as well as night photography (flashlight beam shots) any thoughts is much appreciated!! Thanks Again!!

  • @rajun50

    Excellent video! I really like the control ring on the K70. It's really easy to operate in the dark (don't have to hunt for a button) and I like being able to start on any mode. It's a great UI. That's the only thing keeping me with the K70 over the TN42. That big reflector on the TN42 sure is awesome, no doubt! It makes the K70's reflector look small, and that's really saying something.

    • @chrislange3462
      @chrislange3462 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The K70 is still pretty dang big. Seeing how much larger the TN42 is..more than I expected. Can't say I'm regretting the k70 now, whereas a few days ago I really was.

      Rugby League GBU not worth it. After considering all the pros an cons. Getting vn's versions is becoming less and less of a good deal. Most manufactures are stepping up their game pushing their products to the limit. vn was good back in the day. Now, it's not worth voiding your original warranty.
      Would you buy a brand new car then mod it even before you touched it, just for some extra horsepower which would just void the warranty and on top of that pay a considerate amount of money?
      Just saying. It's your call. Just my two cents.

      @nodoubt46able 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      dont know about that...i just got a tn42vn, and it does 51,000 lux at 4 meters, while on this video, the stock 42 did just 40,000 lux....thats a pretty good jump in lux...it figures out to 816,000 lux at 1 meter... theres not alot out there that will touch that right now...ive got a stock k-70 and vihns tn42 crushes it pretty handily....

  • @zfilmmaker
    @zfilmmaker 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Let's face it, people who buy these lights don't use them as described, they go out and illuminate random things from far away. The Thrunite at Turbo only runs for 125 seconds before stepping down to 1737 lumens. The K75 will run on Turbo for nearly two hours. Granted it gets hot as molten lava but you have to choice if you wanted a long runtime. That's important in a search and rescue situation.
