    Your use of a flush trim bit to finish the through mortise is absolutely brilliant. More than 25 years of woodworking and an engineering degree here and I never thought of that. I learn an amazing amount from your videos!! I hope you keep going on making more of them.

    Every three-fingered woodworker I know said "I did that for 20 years with no problem!" while they were on their way to the emergency room with a Ziploc full of meat and ice in their lap. Free-handing tenons with no push block or riving knife is exactly how that sort of thing happens. Sorry, I never leave comments like this. And I have a lot of respect for you and your work. But when tens of thousands of people watch a video, the chances of someone getting the wrong idea and being seriously hurt are real. None of us want that on our conscience. Please do a TH-cam search for "Table Saw Kickback" and see what can happen to yourself or your viewers.

    • @danpryde5503
      @danpryde5503 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Stumpy Nubs dude, when that second tenon cheek detached, there could only have been a 2-3 millimetres of timber remaining in contact with the clearance plate. Imagine the mess if that was to drop into the cavity directly beside the saw blade. Yikes. Scary stuff. Made me feel ill watching that bit.

    • @donaldstallman954

      I seen this too I would never do that

    • @BrianTimmonsTX
      @BrianTimmonsTX 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Agreed, one thousand percent! When I saw that moment, I paused the video and looked below to see if anyone had commented on how outrageously dangerous that was. Thanks to Stumpy for saying it. And mad respect for you, Samurai, but that was horrifying to watch.

    • @rickcimino743
      @rickcimino743 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I said something similar yesterday and got killed for it. Where is the outrage today?

    I learn so much by watching your videos its like an instant download! I love you have bought that Makita battery router! Its such a handy little bugger! One of my favorite tools and so easy to use a router when you dont need to get power plugged and cords going all over the place. Gives such a wide range of possible places to use a router. Made something right in past life cos having all these cool battery operated tools available now ;)

I recently purchased your blueprints for the samurai workbench as my very first wood working project and I’m dying here in Ohio waiting for them to arrive, although I’m sure i will lose my mind trying to recreate such an awesome project of yours. Keep doing you my man, it’s awesome watching you bring these pieces to life.
