About this game:
Griftlands is a deck-building roguelite where you negotiate, fight, steal or otherwise persuade others to get your way. Every decision is important, be it the jobs you take, the friends you make, or the cards you collect.

I dont know how many times ive fallen asleep watching, sometimes, very different videos and wake up with this video going, but it's a lot. I dont know if NL could possibly be making revenue on this at this point, but if he can I've definitely made a contribution.

Fun game, based on what i played it seems to have less replay value than STS though
Yeah, I wouldn't approach it expecting a robust deck builder. It's pretty easy, and the deck variety boils down to 2 or 3 synergies per character and deck. It's very gratifying as an RPG, however, and it's fun to open it up every few months and see how chance/risk changes your playthrough.
@@cantrip7 StS has 2 to 3 synergies per character as well if you are being generous. I wouldn't call it a robust deck builder personally, but it might be simply because deck building mechanics are already so limited in a progressive draft. Kind of impossible to have more than a couple strategies because otherwise you can't actually make a deck without advance knowledge of what you will get later.
@@WaterCat5 Idk, in some ways you're right (especially if we're talking about the best of the best decks), but there are a few small archetypes that feed into larger ones... cards that combine properties of multiple archetypes... swingier relics that can push you to make weird decks, and there are some oddball cards from events... compared to StS or Monster Train and so on, I thought Griftlands' archetypes were pretty narrow and less gratifying when mixed together. Felt like I was squeezing blood out of a stone in daily challenges. I think that suits Griftlands' campaigns fine, however, and I wouldn't want to deal with StS' biggest swingy relics in a multi-hour session, etc.

This is the first narrative-driven game that I've enjoyed in a long time. Definitely not as crunchy as Slay the Spire, but still very fun. Definitely not as mind-blowing as Don't Starve was for me, but still a very good game. I was skeptical, but I bought it 100% because of Klei is behind it.
So does NL not actually like this game? There's a lot of content to do a good series on. Plus the RPG elements is honestly a refreshing on these deckbuilder roguelikes.
