Yes. I was a little hesitant my first purchase as well, but all is good. Just be careful about the stores you buy from…make sure they are established and have a positive review rating. And know that it’s VERY expensive to send a watch back to Hong Kong from the US, so shop carefully.
Of all of the Pagani's Speedmaster versions you have seen,, is this one the most modernized and ''original''? I think this version can be good for those that seek the MoonSwatch.
Well, still not original, but definitely less of an exact match. I think any of the PD-1701's (multiple versions) or this watch are a better value than the MoonSwatch...as long as they appeal to you!
At this price, I find it hard to believe that's a DLC coating. More likely it's one of the non-DLC variants of PVD. I checked in the site and couldn't find any reference to what it is. Can anyone verify?
Yes, I apologize...I often use DLC and PVD interchangeably when describing the difference that it's not a traditional stainless steel case. It just happens when I'm voicing these live...an unboxing. I also agree that this lower end PVD at this price.
If you're asking if this is a "vX" of the PD-1701, no it's not. They gave this watch its own reference number, PD-1779. This is the only version of the 1779...there hasn't been a v2 yet, that I know of. The version numbers happen when they update the watch, or add a dial variation. This IS the same specs as the newest PD-1701, but adds PVD case, partial skeleton dial, blue anti-reflective coating on the sapphire crystal, and a completely different strap.

It's a funny looking word. The French spelling does mask that a little, but I don't have a preference. I love hearing what's important to others about a watch, though, so thanks for sharing!
@@WatchWitt I do enjoy the small differences that they do to some models. The v4 of this watch is the one I have, great watch! For some reason I just like "tachymetre". They kept flipping it around as well. I've seen multiple models with both versions of the spelling. They have more versions of this watch now! Crazy accurate watch!

Exactly. Honestly, it's a good buy at $110! This Seiko mechaquartz is accurate. My PD-1701 clocked in at +0.0 spd after almost a YEAR!

Hey does the coating come off and high end watches have this coating and does their coating come of and is the case 316l stainless steel
It hasn't yet. This is a 316L stainless steel case with likely PVD coating. You can Google that process to get an idea of the bonding.
Have you seen the pepsi version i knid alike it but the dial isa just the v5 alaska and the v3 moonwatch style but the bezel is pepsi
Yeah, looks good...even though it's a bit of a mishmash! The black V3 is still my favorite of the bunch.
The best way to take the blue off the crown is by putting a little piece of box sealing tape on it and just peel it off.
Rodico usually does it for me! I think that was an old, dried out piece, though. I'll have to keep the packing tape nearby...

Yes, just depends which you prefer. I would get V3 or later of the PD-1701. This PD-1779 has an improved crystal, due to the anti reflective coating.
What is the coating on the watch
I would guess it to be black PVD. It's held up pretty well, but this watch hasn't received tons of wear against my other watches.

How long do PD watches last?
As long as any other well built watch. This is stainless steel construction and a quality, reliable Seiko movement.

I wish they would have spelled tachymeter the French way. Probably not going to buy this model, but that is inconsistent imo.

Yeah, if the white was a little brighter and/or wider it would improve legibility.
