My first Porsche was an '87 924S. It was a wonderful car.
As a college graduation present, my parents bought me a used 1980 Porsche 924. It was 7 years old at the time with low miles and it was a genuinely nice car: handsome styling, easy driving with its neutral handling, a very comfortable car, plus a 5-speed manual transmission. It also had very decent heating and air conditioning unlike 911's of the era. The only thing it lacked was power - the Audi 4-cylinder was adequate but not spirited.

What a nice story... thanks for sharing it with us! We completely agree with you about the characteristics of the 924. It's definitely not the fastest with the Audi engine, but you can still have a lot of fun on tight winding roads... and it's reliable. If you need more power, there is also the S or Turbo.
Loved the edits to align the running and the driving shots. What a great way to illustrate the idea of the car as an extension of the body.

@@soulfulmachines Klar. Der Motor hat ha schon fast 500 000 km runter. Immer nach den Flüssigkeiten schauen, dann läuft der LT-Motor vom 924 ewig. Das Gute an diesem Motor ist, er ist ein Freiläufer, wenn der Zahnriemen reisst, passiert nichts außer dass der Motor nicht mehr läuft...Gite Fahrt

I have the same car, same colour. It’s a 1983 2L VW van engine 😂. I absolutely love it. I have another 2 PORSCHEs and a few more interesting cars but this is without question my favourite. Everytime I open the door it smells like it did when the door was first opened by its first owner in 1983. It might sound sad to some but I often sit in the drivers seat on my driveway and listen to 70s / 80s music, it takes me back. It’s not an expensive car but it is the car that takes me back to a more innocent and simpler time. Does anyone else experience the same. PORSCHE THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE even if it is the Porsche with a van engine 😂 I don’t care.
I can only agree with that 100%. I play my special 80s playlist, crank down the window and drive. It doesn't matter where, it's just closing eyes for a second and letting the time machine do its work.
I like the video better than the car, kinda like a real expensive car commercial I see on regular tv.. you and who ever helped you have a future in advertising..
Wow! Your feedback is much appreciated. We shot this with a crew of only 2 people and a helping hand on the drone shot and some editing parts. We have a film production background, but doing these kind of projects without any budget is always a challenge. We have worked hard to make it look as high quality as possible.

Eine schöne Liebeserklärung an den 924er ❤ - Und ich weiß auch, wo die Jogging-Aufnahmen entstanden sind: am Haarener Kreuz (Aachen). 😉
