    Entitlement... Example.. HE is entitled to decide who works for him because HE built the company.. HE does Not have to change his policy so your feelings don't get hurt.. and if that hurts your feelings.. shut up and go start your own thing.. don't try to change his.

      That is exactly Right. He put in the work to built up his Company. If you want to do Things differently then go out there and open your own Company. People who Always complain About Things being unfair will never achieve anything.

      Entitlement isn't the same as making demands. In an interview is the time to make clear the things both parties require, that's capitalism. If your damn good in your field of work you can be demanding and should ask for money, benefits or any requirements.

    "It looks like one of the questions is 'What does America mean to you?', what kind of answer were you looking for?"
    "You know, the irony of this test is it's not even so much about the answers, it's about how people formulate the answers and how they stand by that. I want some hardcore Americans, people who are proud to be American."
    Then it *is* about the answer, isn't it.

    • @McManMinecraft
      @McManMinecraft 7 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      I think he is saying that he doesn't care what the answer is as long as it's along the lines of them liking America and not being some person who hates everything America stands for and such.

    • @isodoublet
      @isodoublet 7 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      Which means that it *is* about the answer, then, and he should just own up to what he's doing. It's ideological screening. I don't have an inherent problem with it, but be honest about what you're doing.

    • @solonlysander2180
      @solonlysander2180 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @Avicenna - Actually, Kyle misused "irony" when he made that comment. Definition of irony; "the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect"; "a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result." So, rather than saying "irony", Kyle should have said the "purpose" of the tests is not even so much the answers.
      Kyle also contradicts himself, as in the begging of the video he makes mention of "you young activists" in a way that was speak down of young activists and making fun of them. Then he says of the questions..."it's about how people formulate the answers and how they stand by that". So, he wants someone who has the conviction to "stand by that" or stand for something. I guess it is only okay if they stand for the same things he does.

    • @isodoublet
      @isodoublet 7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @SoloLysander yep. And then that he has to disguise his ideological test in this kind of "it's not about the answers" language shows that he doesn't actually have the conviction to stand behind what he believes in without subterfuge. Now *that*'s irony, wouldn'tcha say?

    • @solonlysander2180
      @solonlysander2180 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I am 54 years old, so not from the younger, so-called ''entitled'' generation, and I have a list of questions that I take with me to interviews, that my potential employer must please answer. I'm tired of an interview being a one way street, you interview me, and I interview you, and we can both assess each other. Not surprisingly, interviewers are a bit shirty over answering a list of my questions - none of which are unreasonable or cheeky, by the way.

    • @Mark-xh8md
      @Mark-xh8md 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      " none of which are unreasonable or cheeky, by the way."
      Yeah, sure! :D Normal businesses expect people to ask them questions at interviews, especially if it's more than simple "Flip burgers"-jobs. If the interviewers you've been talking to get "shirty", then it's because your questions are either ridiculous, or showing off a sense of entitlement that you haven't earned the right to have yet.

I, too, always had a list of several questions I hadn't been able to find answers to and there were generally a few points which came up during the interview where I wanted clarification. I completely agree that an interview needs to be a 2-way street. If it isn't then you risk becoming a company doormat in some firms

    He needs to fine-tune his questions. Agree with some of his points, but some of the questions are only weeding out candidates with certain political views (especially the gun question). You could still hate guns, have a good work ethic, and make his company money. Diversity of viewpoints in the work force is not a bad thing.
    It appears that he is trying to fill his company with right-wingers who worship guys like our current president. It's his right as a business owner, but only having certain types of people around you will limit creativity, discourage discussions from different viewpoints, and limit growth. It is kind of like High School kids hanging around their clique of friends who think exactly like them.

    • @joer8399
      @joer8399 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The google response is technically off topic to the video. However, it was a GOP controlled government that ended net neutrality. This would allow Google to show political bias even more, if even proven to be true. You now may have to bribe Google and others to get the same bandwidth you were guaranteed under Obama's policy.
      Sometimes liberal policies protect freedom of speech and peoples rights, like minimum wage, the 40 hour week, and banning of underage child labor in the workforce.

      *Mi nk* if you despise human beings so much, have you considered automation, or changing your business model so you can treat your employees fairly? It sounds like you started with insufficient capital, or made a poor choice in business.
      Remember that most startups _by far_ need to fail in order to keep wealth more adequately distributed, since our current fiscal state prefers natural wealth redistribution than state policies. (Otherwise capitalist markets end like Monopoly, where few people owning everything and no-one liking anyone very much.) So your company will do society a greater service if it goes under than if it becomes profitable.
      And if you think it's appropriate to underpay and disregard your employees, maybe that's for the best.

    The fact that only Fox News thinks this is a laudable achievement speaks volumes about this guy and his business. This CEO has already shown his stupidity by publicly acknowledging a bias against people who don't necessarily think of themselves as "Americans" first and foremost... Let's be honest, he's looking for hard-core "patriotic" conservatives -- liberals need not apply. I say "stupid" because by publicly acknowledging his bias, he has hurt his business, because any potential clients who see this and feel like they're on the wrong end of his litmus test will treat him the same way and hire his competition. So, years from now, all he will have are like-minded staff and like-minded clients... a recipe for a non-discrimination lawsuit if ever I heard one. Then the final nail will be when his client list is made public and there is some connection with a known hate group or other criminals, which he will be unable to dismiss as random if all of his clients share the same "mindset".

      I disagree with the "clone of me" part of your comment. Very often they think that they're the only one who's ambition counts. They drive a 120,000 German sedan to "brand" themselves. You get a bus pass. They "need" money, what the hell do you need money for?
      So he's the capitalist, but he wants to pay you so little that you'll never get a chance to build up a small war chest to head out on your own and start your own business.
      Also, very often it turns out that his start up capital was provided by his family, not working his ass off 70 hours a week for someone else.
      Moral of the story: work for this guy, if you have to and put all your money in the bank. Always be looking at the door.

    • @AppalachianSunshine
      @AppalachianSunshine 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Proportionally speaking, even though we get paid for our work some people can't make ends meet without being totally reliant on someone else's capital. And those wealthier than the rest of society, for all the fucking charity they do, can live without having to work or do the jobs they pay others to do. They can invest money in larger quantities and in abundance, they can spoil someone else's life just because they want to and then go to hire someone else, presumably at a lower wage. That seems like a pretty slave-driver-y mentality: they need me, but I don't need them. So, proportionally speaking, yeah working for a heartless incel like this Kyle Reyes guy is kind of like working for a slave-driver, the only key differences between us and, say, the real slaves, are we have better technology, ostensibly we think (real) slavery is vile and should be outlawed, and that now we can choose who own our lives and who we need to be dependent upon; he's one of many slave-drivers middle-Americans like you or I need to have in our lives. Without them we'd pretty much die or have to resort to larceny in order to keep ourselves fed or clothed or housed. But, that's just me being a liberal faggot soy boy. I anticipate now you'll call me some homophobic slur, question the size, efficacy, or inward/outward orientation of my genitals, call me a snowflake, or tell me to go find a real job or start my own company. Good advice in advance!

Personally, I don't mind if a company asks questions "targeted" at a particular group - I try not to think in black-and-white terms; I have some views which would be considered "liberal," and some "conservative" - because if a company has particular views that I'd be expected to support were I hired, I'd appreciate knowing that in advance, so I can choose as to whether I'd like to apply there, or not.

      None of them were sarcasm. Especially the one about the sword. I'm not big on guns. Its too easy to kill someone. A man can live without an arm so a sword just seems like a better idea.

      Meh, it's just a personal preference. I value my right and the rights of others to own one. I just don't like to use them.

      JCDenton 2012 not to nit pick here but with a gun fatality is less likely depending on ammo used there are plenty of non lethal options on market vs a sword or any other bladed weapon which requires skill to use especially if you are going in without the intent to kill there are so many major arteries that a small cut will cause the assailant to bleed out in minutes. Just my thought on it though.

      He runs a business. He's earned the right to choose who works for him. An entitled person would be someone with zero skills you just hired to forward calls who feels they should have a say in who's hired or feels they're paid too little. You have no idea what entitled means.

      Lol the irony is absolutely hilarious with this guy, I seriously thought this was a parody at first. Guy screens candidates with a "snowflake" test so he can surround himself with like minded people who will not oppose his views. What do conservatives like to call that again? Oh that's right a safespace, and who supposedly need them? Snowflakes.

      I don't even know why people care about politics in the work place, the only things that should matter are work ethic, qualifications, and a good track record

    I personally have never had a problem finding and keeping work; never been accused of being a snowflake. But you would not find me working for this man.
    1) He must be in a niche that allows him to be this choosy. If there were a shortage of workers, as there are in some markets, sometimes you have to hire those you may not align with. Things could be reversed, and if there was a shortage of jobs, working for this man may be someone's only option. He seems blind to the fact that he is not in control of the labor market.
    2) His tactics border on a form of manipulation that you find with those offering those free seminars on how to get rich. In exchange for accepting whatever demeaning, low wage work that he is offering, he gives you a pat on the back, encouraging you that you are such a good non-entitled person for coming and working for him. Truly humble, patriotic, and American.
    Work for him if you need work. Don't work for him just to prove to someone that you have noble character traits.

    One of his questions specifically asks about the religion of a prospective employee, which is not particularly wise if you understand the law. I don't believe for a second he built any business from the "ground up". This is a guy who came from the upper middle class suburbs and thinks that because he had to work at the red lobster as a teen, this means he really understands overcoming adversity. Using labels like "liberal" and "snowflake" means that you are uninterested in understanding other people and instead invent caricatures of them so that you don't have to learn anything.

    • @frankrizzo4747
      @frankrizzo4747 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. You have to come from a single mother family in the ghetto, and be great at basketball to be successful and overcome adversity. Screw that "working at Red Lobster" BS!
