- The Edinburgh Vaults are said to be one of the most haunted places in the UK. Many visitors who head down to the lower levels are greeted by a gust of cold air. People report hearing children yelling and women singing. Others have seen full-blown apparitions. And some spirits are regulars.
It's even rumored that in the 1820s, the infamous serial killers William Burke and William Hare lurked within the vaults, killing some of their 17 victims.
With dozens of other deaths due to disease and crime, the vaults remain one of the world's most haunted places.

I was in these vaults last year and it was a surreal experience. Was told to take lots of pictures as you often catch a glimpse of something you can't always see with the naked eye. That night when I was in my hotel room looking through my pictures I had taken, I almost had a heart attack when I stumbled upon a face out of one of the hallways of a man who wasn't there. Truly incredible place to explore. We also had the same tour guide and she was really great, informative and friendly.

@@ExploringWithJosh I know right honestly this is the clearest most active video Ive watched, hearing the voices from down the hall and the scream like it even scared me and I wasn't there ahah. Not to mention I reckon that Seth has some sort of medium energy just because he is so in tune with spirits and feels their full effects, it's so weird to think about but at the same time so cool. Also the audio that had to be played backwards had to of came from a demon/malevolent spirit because I've never heard anything like it from regular spirits, keep up the good work guys! We can see you's have really been working hard 💛 rise above!

It really is fucked up to go to places with that amount of energies when you are an empath but non of the people you are with is a believer. Sometimes I feel stuff around and when I warn them they think I'm making it up. I really felt bad for Seth there, that must have been horrible.

I've been here a few times & there is so many areas that are open to public & those that they don't allow members of public(although there have been a few groups permitted into certain areas) & these are usually where the good stuff happens.
I am so glad white witches were mentioned and she acknowledged they weren't evil. I am learning witchcraft and so many people think that it's the same as being evil or being in a cult. I adore that you were so understanding and she mentioned the inverted pentagram.

Best EVP you've got by far. Especially as it was placed far away, yet the EVP was louder than your voices. Meaning it's unlikely to be any accidental noise contamination. And the fact the reverse EVP even sounds like it has a Scottish accent is nuts.
The voice at 41:50 is so loud I can only presume it's someone from above ground. I think there's actually a nightclub called the Hive right near you. It sounded like a drunk lass laughing. Someone investigate if sounds from the city can be picked up from the vaults pls. Otherwise I have no idea what to think bout that one.

The torture devices were horrible oh my god. I honestly don't know which one sounded like the worst, but I am glad that these are NOT being used any more 🤪. The tourguide, I believe her name was Anna, was so cool too! I loved her accent.

I haven't watched the full video yet but I'm excited to do so - I'm a psychic medium, and last time I was in the vaults I remember seeing a man standing crouched in the corner staring at everyone in Mr. Boot's room, it was crazy.

I was there 10 years ago and 1 part was cold 1 was roasting but it was humid you could feel ghosts in there it was unreal, I could see 2 feet tapping in a puddle and black boots now I have seen this it must of been the watcher one of my friends got touched as did I I haven't been back since but I will go back one day....... nice video there's a lot of places haunted in Edinburgh.

We actually have a similar thing in Mexico, in Guanajuato state theres a place called “la hacienda del cochero” and all the inquisition torture tools and places are there, its pretty cool, man i would love if you guys went to Guanajuato theres legends about ghosts in every single street almost, la llorona is there too, man you guys would love it there!!!! I hope you guys would be interested in it to maybe even google about it 🤣 its were Pixar got the inspiration for coco we have catacombs and its just amazingly creepy and beautiful at the same time

Great video as always. Just a little something I would like to ask for a little thing if it's not too much trouble. As a person with English as their secondary language and some hearing problems, could it be possible to put some subtitles on the video? Because in I can't quite understand everything the guide said. US English is like neutral on the pronunciation, but the accents are hard to understand sometimes, especially with the sound being altered by the structures and spaces themselves. If it's not too much to ask, of course 💛
If you go to settings on TH-cam you can turn on closed captioning or cc. That shoul give you subtitles.

So, I have visited these exact Vaults on on my tour, we were informed the high Priestess and the wiccans experienced severe negative paranormal activity which they attempted to combat but eventually they to this day, believe their high priestess died as a direct result of the negative energy in these vaults. After her death, the white witches were too scared to continue practicing down there due to the bad energy and believed the priestess was killed as a warning to the rest of them. That’s why all there stuff is still there because the quite literally just up and ran and started practicing elsewhere.
Strange this tour guide didn’t mention that really interesting story…?

5:40 I just can never believe the extent of human violence.. I’ve never understood how punishment that violent is allowed and created by “officials” but they aren’t commiting a crime by torturing another human?? No matter what they did. I could never bring myself to torture someone. Even if they murdered my whole family. I wouldn’t want that done to them. that’s not to say I wouldn’t be angry. I am would feel better knowing I’m nothing like them. I do not find comfort knowing more pain was caused.
Life was much different back in the day. People's basic human rights were trampled on if it benefited the "higher ups" or wealthier. Shoot, women were still considered property not to mention whole races that were considered less than property just less than 100yrs ago. Sad what humans can do to one another. On an absolutely different note....What's very intriguing (& extremely funny if like myself, one has the humor of a 9yr old) is the rise in cleanlier bathroom hygiene vaguely correlates to the drop in use of torture as a law enforcement type tool & people finally getting basic human rights. Hmmmm.

Your journey around the UK is absolutely insane, me and my partner are just watching these every evening!! You should absolutely go to Bristol to the Dower House, it used to be an asylum I believe and then got converted into a hotel ? It’s quite an ominous looking place that overlooks the motorway. Then you have the SS Great Britain, slavery and crazy stories about the captain and the crew and also about a woman who died weeks before her wedding on that very ship lurks around!
