It's all 2-5-1's guys. with little curlicues at the end of the phrase. it's easy. JUST REPLACE THE FIRST B7 with A7 and you can play the fucking chart. IT'S ALL 2-5-1's. not that hard and don't psych yourself out with this shitty tune. IT'S ALL 2-5-1's.

Coltrane and this song ruined jazz and all the sax players.

So the difficulty has and always will be the tempo. Just because you understand the harmony doesn’t mean you can play it. Not many people can play 2 bar ii V Is at ~300bpm

@@willwarick7758 The move to a key center a major third away is highly unusual and awkward at first and takes a serious amount of practice to get used to, let alone master.

@@obergssin People missing what Trane was doing hurts jazz. What makes his solo on this tune so incredible (and all of his solos) is the melodicism and emotion he is able to play with without needing to sacrifice technique. Because the music is difficult, it’s easy to spend most of your time of the harmony and not as much on being comfortable enough with the changes to play melodically like Trane did.
