No, no. The pain is past. Her pelvis is fixed, she's much happier. Did you see her when she got into the car?? She was smiling, happy with her new owners, getting kisses and reassurance, enjoying her new life. She will do fine. Greyhounds have beautiful eyes.

She was apprehensive when she first met her new "family" but it's obvious they will give her the life and love she deserves. I wouldn't want to stop kissing and cuddling her! She is a bit afraid, turns her head the other way, tail between the legs… it will take some time for her to trust humans again, but this couple seems to be the perfect family for Ruby. They are so gentle with her and they really love her. I hope we can have an update in the future and see Ruby run and play. She is such an adorable and sweet dog. I got a street dog and when in mad for some reason arguing with other people she gets scared even though I have never beat her or even yell. I love that dog but people did really cruel stuff to her.
I really hate when people abandon their pets!!!! Why get them if u can't care for them. I hug and kiss my dog every day. Telling him he's so loved, and I love him. I've always had pets since a kid now at 40 I still have a dog. I looking forward to coming home every morning from work and he's at the door so excited. Best feeling in the world
Ruby wasn't a pet, unfortunately. She was a hunting dog who was dumped or worse when her usefulness was over. Sometimes the hunters try to kill the dogs unsuccessfully, other times they are just dumped and get hit by cars, which may be how her hip was broken.
I Am Me You Are You I am the same way my chihuahua is soo spoiled and loved and I am only 11 and I have never had a dog from a shelter and in July of 2018 our puppy who was only 6 months old got ran over and passed and I think we should get another one but from the shelter
People have to give up pets for different reasons it's not always because they are unloved, in fact it can be the complete opposite, having to work longer hours or sickness, etc and they want the best for their dog It's not always a easy decision. Abuse is a totally different thing, that's always wrong of course.

I work at a veterinary clinic in Tucson that specializes in Greyhounds and treats a lot of greyhound track dogs. These dogs are some of the most beautiful spirited, loving, funny dogs as a breed. They have the best personalities and are so underrated and underappreciated. Rescue a greyhound. :) They're so different, but so worth it.
Not all of them need "rescuing". The vast majority are well cared for and in many cases treated better than humans. In the case above I can only imagine the pain the bitch will be in once arthritis sets in.
Ian Hilditch I work with these dogs daily. In the U.S (at the tracks) they are treated terribly. They are malnourished, come in with years old broken Bones, have terrible teeth, intestinal parasites, ect. We have track workers that admitted to lack of care, abuse, and even taking them out back to kill them with a bullet. That isn't being treated better than humans. We get dogs from every state and it's ALWAYS the same story. So yes, in the United States these dogs are treated inhumanely at the race tracks and need rescuing. Anyone working with these dogs in a rescue or veterinary clinic knows this.

We have 2 retired racing greyhounds. We had the 1st for 3 years and was so easy to take care of we adopted a 2nd. If you’re family is low energy they are the perfect dog. Folks don’t realize Greyhounds are LOW energy couch potatoes.
Disposable necessity, It costs money to hunt and the last thing they want is paying vet bills, I think the hunter retired her and let her loose and a vehicle hit Ruby.
These are extremely valuable dogs and worth selling after they age. She likely got spooked in a hunt and ran away and then got injured. I highly doubt some hunter broke her hip and left her to die.
Dogs are very trusting & forgiving of new people with good hearts & fulfilling the lives of these poor innocent creatures deserving deep happiness in their new future lives! What creature wouldn't be happy under Victor's excellent choices for their new life pursued by Victor Larkhill & the staff. I have a rescued greyhound and he is the most sweetest gentle dog you would ever meet, greyhounds are one of the most gentlest dogs on the planet and deserve better lives than they get.

Don't . This breed is absolutely impossible to adopt or even buy in the US. These fake charities make up all sorts of sob stories to get $$$ out of people. Basically nobody can adopt a dog from them.
@@olgapatson7345 This isn't true. I own a greyhound myself as well as worked and volunteered at greyhound rescues and their "sob stories" are very real. Many of them come in need of some type of surgery or medication and all of them come in underweight. The charities aren't fake, and the money they're "getting" out of people is to pay for their surgeries (which gets pricey), food, and rent/ space to keep them all. Adoption fees range in the hundreds, so I don't see how this is so bad compared to paying thousands for a puppy? Adoption in general is harder than just going to a pet store and buying whatever puppy you want. After all these poor babies have been through I think it's only right to make sure they go to the right homes with people that are going to give them the best life. If you think it's THAT hard to adopt, then I'm sure you're home isn't fit for owning a rescue then :/
@@olgapatson7345 Northern Greyhound Adoptions in Fairfax, Vermont, is an adoption kennel for Greyhounds "retired" (or injured) on the race tracks. I know. Over the years, we've adopted four of these wonderful dogs from NGA. Sadly, we've lost three to cancer, but happily, one is still with us. They are gentle, quiet, loving dogs. They don't need tons of exercise, but a fenced in yard is definitely needed. Our gal and guys used to run around the yard for two or three minutes, do their business, and come back in the house to nap for four hours. They love to go on walks and rides in the car. The dog in this video appears to be a Spanish Greyhound, also called a Galgo.
I waited the entire video to see her ears come up... they never did, it's so sad.. when she bonds with her new family, the ears will come up and she will be happy, God bless.

I had a rescue dog that had been neglected, once they realize how much you love them and care for them, the affection they offer back is unbelievable. At night when I watched TV she would lie on the floor and rest her head on my feet. I'm still sad she is gone now, but I will never forget.
These Grey's are so very loving. All they want to do is please... we adopted 2 from a racetrack. Ravenous Raven and Dobby-long-legs. Beautiful big lovers.
I have 2 greyhounds Kevin and Eamonn Kevin was left on his own until people found him Eamonn was an x racer and it’s a horrible life they were never loved or anything and he was very quite when we first got him but now he found his place he is the happiest dog ever and I am just saying people think greyhounds are bad and vicious dogs and they need a lot of exercise but they just need a long run or 2 walks a day but there the most lovingly dogs ever🤩

She's not a greyhound, shes a Galgo, a Spanish breed used for hunting. At the end of the hunting season the hunters either kill the dogs or break their legs or hips and throw them into a pit to die....and why do they do that? Because they don't want to spend money feeding a dog who is not hunting...and next year they get a new dog and at the end of the hunting season they kill that dog and on it goes. The Spanish govt could care less....look at their other barbaric practice of bullfighting. I have no use for them, they are barbarians.

@@Ladykosbo They also use them for coursing or racing as we call it. If the dogs are not fast enough, they kill them. To train them to run they tie 12 to 15 dogs behind a truck and make them run. The slow ones get hurt and are left to die. They also have hanging parties where they hang the dogs on trees to kill them and bring food and drink to make a party out of it. While the dogs are alive they are fed barely enough to stay alive. They are bred in the thousands and killed by the thousands every year and the Spanish govt does not care. The laws that they have are not enforced out of fear of these criminals. Boycott Spain and all Spanish products.

I got a street dog and when in mad for some reason arguing with other people she gets scared even though I have never beat her or even yell.

I really hate when people abandon their pets!!!! Why get them if u can't care for them. I hug and kiss my dog every day. Telling him he's so loved, and I love him. I've always had pets since a kid now at 40 I still have a dog. I looking forward to coming home every morning from work and he's at the door so excited. Best feeling in the world
Ruby wasn't a pet, unfortunately. She was a hunting dog who was dumped or worse when her usefulness was over. Sometimes the hunters try to kill the dogs unsuccessfully, other times they are just dumped and get hit by cars, which may be how her hip was broken.

I work at a veterinary clinic in Tucson that specializes in Greyhounds and treats a lot of greyhound track dogs. These dogs are some of the most beautiful spirited, loving, funny dogs as a breed. They have the best personalities and are so underrated and underappreciated. Rescue a greyhound. :) They're so different, but so worth it.
Not all of them need "rescuing". The vast majority are well cared for and in many cases treated better than humans. In the case above I can only imagine the pain the bitch will be in once arthritis sets in.

I work with these dogs daily. In the U.S (at the tracks) they are treated terribly. They are malnourished, come in with years old broken Bones, have terrible teeth, intestinal parasites, ect. We have track workers that admitted to lack of care, abuse, and even taking them out back to kill them with a bullet. That isn't being treated better than humans. We get dogs from every state and it's ALWAYS the same story. So yes, in the United States these dogs are treated inhumanely at the race tracks and need rescuing. Anyone working with these dogs in a rescue or veterinary clinic knows this.

We have 2 retired racing greyhounds. We had the 1st for 3 years and was so easy to take care of we adopted a 2nd. If you’re family is low energy they are the perfect dog. Folks don’t realize Greyhounds are LOW energy couch potatoes.

Disposable necessity, It costs money to hunt and the last thing they want is paying vet bills, I think the hunter retired her and let her loose and a vehicle hit Ruby.
These are extremely valuable dogs and worth selling after they age. She likely got spooked in a hunt and ran away and then got injured.
I highly doubt some hunter broke her hip and left her to die.
I’m not a dog owner but I’m completely amazed that such a beautiful animal can learn to trust again.
Dogs are very trusting & forgiving of new people with good hearts & fulfilling the lives of these poor innocent creatures deserving deep happiness in their new future lives! Don't . This breed is absolutely impossible to adopt or even buy in the US. These fake charities make up all sorts of sob stories to get $$$ out of people. Basically nobody can adopt a dog from them.
@@olgapatson7345 This isn't true. I own a greyhound myself as well as worked and volunteered at greyhound rescues and their "sob stories" are very real. Many of them come in need of some type of surgery or medication and all of them come in underweight. The charities aren't fake, and the money they're "getting" out of people is to pay for their surgeries (which gets pricey), food, and rent/ space to keep them all. Adoption fees range in the hundreds, so I don't see how this is so bad compared to paying thousands for a puppy? Adoption in general is harder than just going to a pet store and buying whatever puppy you want. After all these poor babies have been through I think it's only right to make sure they go to the right homes with people that are going to give them the best life. If you think it's THAT hard to adopt, then I'm sure you're home isn't fit for owning a rescue then :/
@@olgapatson7345 Northern Greyhound Adoptions in Fairfax, Vermont, is an adoption kennel for Greyhounds "retired" (or injured) on the race tracks. I know. Over the years, we've adopted four of these wonderful dogs from NGA. Sadly, we've lost three to cancer, but happily, one is still with us. They are gentle, quiet, loving dogs. They don't need tons of exercise, but a fenced in yard is definitely needed. Our gal and guys used to run around the yard for two or three minutes, do their business, and come back in the house to nap for four hours. They love to go on walks and rides in the car. The dog in this video appears to be a Spanish Greyhound, also called a Galgo.

I had a rescue dog that had been neglected, once they realize how much you love them and care for them, the affection they offer back is unbelievable. At night when I watched TV she would lie on the floor and rest her head on my feet. I'm still sad she is gone now, but I will never forget.

I have 2 greyhounds Kevin and Eamonn Kevin was left on his own until people found him Eamonn was an x racer and it’s a horrible life they were never loved or anything and he was very quite when we first got him but now he found his place he is the happiest dog ever and I am just saying people think greyhounds are bad and vicious dogs and they need a lot of exercise but they just need a long run or 2 walks a day but there the most lovingly dogs ever🤩

She's not a greyhound, shes a Galgo, a Spanish breed used for hunting. At the end of the hunting season the hunters either kill the dogs or break their legs or hips and throw them into a pit to die....and why do they do that? Because they don't want to spend money feeding a dog who is not hunting...and next year they get a new dog and at the end of the hunting season they kill that dog and on it goes. The Spanish govt could care less....look at their other barbaric practice of bullfighting. I have no use for them, they are barbarians.

@@Ladykosbo They also use them for coursing or racing as we call it. If the dogs are not fast enough, they kill them. To train them to run they tie 12 to 15 dogs behind a truck and make them run. The slow ones get hurt and are left to die. They also have hanging parties where they hang the dogs on trees to kill them and bring food and drink to make a party out of it. While the dogs are alive they are fed barely enough to stay alive. They are bred in the thousands and killed by the thousands every year and the Spanish govt does not care. The laws that they have are not enforced out of fear of these criminals. Boycott Spain and all Spanish products.
