  • A short video showing how we clean these bungalow roofs using roof scrapers and biocide treatment.
    The first step is to remove all the moss from the roof tiles, once the moss is removed we then apply a biocide treatment to self cleanse the roof tiles over a period of time.
    Thank you for watching and hope you enjoy.

    What biocide did you go for to do the final treatment? Did you kill the moss before scraping or just cracked on? Good video 👍

    Nice one lads. That's exactly how I do it. By hand and scrape each tile. I'd get some knee pads though and save your backs.

    A guy came out to do our roofs and used scrapers and a big vac. In our communal garden there is 3 giant trees that block any light from coming in.

    Fair play, a good result but seems incredibly labor intensive. Would steam cleaning be far quicker?

    • @Jetowash
      @Jetowash  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes steam/pressure washing probably would have been quicker but after going through the options available this was the option the customer opted for 👍🏻

    Hi there, what's the treatment you apply at the end? How does it cleanse the roof over time?

    • @Jetowash
      @Jetowash  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It cleanses the roof by killing all the organic growth. We use a biocide treatment 👍🏻

    Lots of moss there. Not like that in California bro. But it sure looks like job security.

  • @JS-qg1ie

    Guys, get a metal plate and draw on the profile of the tile and cut to suit then attach it to a handle. It’ll save you heaps of time.

    • @Jetowash
      @Jetowash  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We do have profile blades but due to how coarse these tiles were it was much easier to use a small scraper on this occasion 👍

    • @JS-qg1ie
      @JS-qg1ie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      JetOWash yeah those Redlands are coarse. I’m doing 580m2 of the blighters at the mo and I reckon I’ll get through two blades. Diy jobbies though. What sort of brush are you using? I’m using wire brushes but they’re getting eaten on the lips and hips.

    • @Jetowash
      @Jetowash  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JS-qg1ie this was scraped to remove the bulk and then a light brush over with a wire brush to remove any remaining moss. We dont normally use a wire brush but on this occasion due to the tiles being so rough it was the only way to achieve the best results.

    Is it true that pressure washing is bad for the tiles and can cause leaks in the loft?
