  • In this video Mike shows examples of the highest grade of turquoise, the elusive gem grade, from different mines. It is called gem grade because it is comparable to the finest diamonds, emeralds or rubies in beauty and rarity. #turquoise #gemturquoise #gemstones #gems

Thank you for showing us these gem grade Turquoise stones. I've been cutting Turquoise recently for the first time and never heard of soaking the rough in water, I'll have to try that for some rough.

Some people have gold coins in a vault, some have stock portfolios. Some have land and rental properties. None of those riches compare to having a wealth in gem grade turquoise

As always Mike,so inspiring to watch your presentations!Even though on my own claim,I rarely extract much higher than middle grade, I keep at it and feel very fortunate to be able to hobby mine and find what Turquiose is left!

All turquoise has value and beauty. Natural mid grade is only found in as little as fifteen percent of all turquoise and is desirable in the market because it is affordable and an alternative to treated or imitation rock. Keep on digging. That gem is out there.

Вы очень обаятельный и рассказываете интересно, хотя я смотрю с субтитрами, с переводом на русский. Сама точила когда-то разные камни, малахит, лазурит, хризопраз, янтарь. Но бирюза самая прекрасная! Спасибо вам!

Thank you Mike for sharing your gem grade turquoise. Do you have any gem grade morenci and sleeping beauty to share with us viewers?

I have some very high grade Morenci but none I would consider true gem grade comparable to those in the video. Because the highest grades of Sleeping Beauty are graded only on hardness and color it is difficult to find what I would consider gem grade Sleeping Beauty. At the highest grades determining what is gem grade becomes highly subjective. Take a look at the videos on Morenci and Sleeping Beauty and do take a look at the web site turquoiseinamerica.com

I just looked at the Morenci video and the large cab in the center of the tray is gem grade.

What do they look like in the raw state?
Are these turquoise "Gems" stabilized with epoxy like other turquoise?

    • @turquoiseinamerica3164

Gem grade GG, as measured by the TG scale using the R2 grading rules, applies only to natural turquoise that has not been treated by stabilization or enhancement.

Oh, for Pete's sake, take the hat off and do a real close up on at least one of those stones. How are we supposed to really look at them from that far away!
