    The design is lovely but I appreciate your explanation even more. You take time to show the technique; repeat it enough times for me to 'get it', and you speed up so no time is wasted. Being online means we can go forward or backward on our own if we prefer. Then there's the quick stops for close-up shots, too. VERY professional tutorial. Thank You. This is the first time I've seen one of yours so I'm anxious to watch others, too. I'm thinking it might be fun for me to use a black or brown 20 gauge wire and a silver for the 28 gauge. I'll bet the silver on black would be impressive. We'll see!

    • @FantasiaElegance
      @FantasiaElegance  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, the bail is probably the trickiest part. If you like, you can also leave the wire weaving off the bail, and just shape the wires without the weaving. It will look slightly different, but should still be pretty.

    Hello! I saw your Celtic cross and thought it was gorgeous! I may just try it out, as your explanations are very clear.
    I do have a question though. I have been wire weaving for some time and have not yet been able to overcome my problem.
    When I weave on two base wires parallel to one other, I cannot seem to keep them at the same distance from each other throughout. I typically tend to weave pretty tight and wonder if this is the problem.
    Your weave does not seem too tight, nor too loose. What do you think, please?

    If I wanted to patina this with the paints would I do it after it’s finished or before I even start wrapping?

  • @peggyhughes680
    @peggyhughes680 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love this tutorial, the design is gorgeous. I actually have used it twice now and for some reason, I cannot get the finished product to lay flat! It twists and curves, did I wrap too tight? I was trying so hard to make it all even that maybe I overdid the tension? I can't think of any other reason that I failed twice :/ Nothing I do with make it flatten.

    Because I bought some wire from Amazon and they tarnish soo bad ..... I just don't know how to deal with this problem

    • @FantasiaElegance
      @FantasiaElegance  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Samaria! I've actually steered away from non-tarnish wires, for just that reason. I used to use Artistic Wire brand, but like you, I found that the non-tarnish coating wears off (unevenly) and then you get ugly splotches of tarnish that you can't clean. That's why I mainly use things like silver and copper, which do tarnish, but you can easily clean them.
