- Hello and welcome to my latest tutorial.
To make this pendant you will need -
• 0.8mm wire (20g), 4 x 10" (26cm).
• 0.315mm weaving wire (28g) 200cm (I wind mine onto a bobbin, but you can cut lengths as you go if you prefer).
• beads, mine are 2 x 2mm.
• Jump ring, 8mm outside measurement (or whatever size you have handy)
I no longer put links to tools on here.
The tools I use are:
• Tronex needle nose pliers
• Tronex short round nose pliers
• Tronex razor flush cutters
• Beadsmith flat nose nylon jaw pliers
• Occasionally I use tronex bent nose pliers
• Occasionally I use heavy-duty wire cutters
• Occasionally I use xuron needle nose pliers
• Bobeeze bobbins (medium size with no extra weights)

Kelly would you try some sea themed pendants? Either videos of payed tutorials. I loved the captured one and would love more! I'm about to buy another of your payed but feel a pull to make some sea inspired stuff and the way you teach would be amazing to learn from you! Just made this one on the video ❤
Oo that's an idea, I don't do many animals, I did a fish pendant once and I've had a few requests for a tutorial 👍
@@KellyJonesJewellery I'm sure anything you come up with will be beautiful!

Beautiful! I missed this earlier. How on this earth do you manage to keep your nails looking so great with the work you do! My nails are a mess just looking at my studio! lol
Haha, they do break, I'm doing well with them at the mo 😁 and thank you so much 💕
I've seen your video on the oxidation process but I was just wondering how you get your highlights to come out so shiny. Do you use a polishing compound or just a copper polish in general or do you tumble your jewelry after?
I use the Dremel with the grit end, then a silver polishing cloth. When you photograph your pieces, get them really close to the light bulb 😊 and that's it. I've never tumbled anything or used copper polish. 😅
Hi Ms. Kelly, I love your tuts!! However, I have trouble keeping the weave "tidy" , it seems to bounce back..AND the securing wraps seem to come undone at the end/beginning even after I have sqiushed the ends. Twisting the wire works sometimes works. Can you help or direct me to the correct resources? I know you VERY busy providing us with your wonderful creativity and expertise so THANKS!!!!!
Oh no, sounds like your wire is springy, are you using bare copper weaving wire? Try leaving a little tail end at the beginning of your weave and as you weave, hold that end down. Hope that helps, let me know how you get on 💕
Yes I use dead soft bc wire..Perhaps my weaves are too loose?@@KellyJonesJewellery
Have a look at this video I did

😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
😁thank you 💕
My wires tend to roll
Around a lot while weaving which makes it hard to keep the wire & weave straight as I go constantly fixing & smooshing which helps but an I missing something to prevent that? I do straighten my wires before I start & it happens even when I use painters tape to hold wires together 🤷♀️
It sounds like your wires are quite soft. Are you using the same gauge as me (0.8mm, 20awg) I always buy soft but the wires are quite tough sometimes to work with. Have a look at my other video in wire tensions, I'll find a link...
th-cam.com/video/4MoJR0d0sno/w-d-xo.html
Thank you I actually found that video after I posted my comment & it did help a lot !!! my wire is quiet soft, sterling silver, but I did it!! I really was just patient, took my time & kept fixing my wires, kept fixing the gaps in between for my weaves & smooshing it together ti keep it tight as I went. I’m getting better & I think it’s a matter of practice & taking my time maybe I will try half hard for the weaves idk I find it easier to bend after weaving with dead soft but just doing it & practicing helps & your tips were super helpful thank you so much!!
Oh fantastic! Glad it's working out, it gets better and easier with time 👍🤗
What kind of wire is it? Can I get it at hardware stores?
I've put the sizes in the description, I use just bare copper, ask around 👍
My 20 gauge doesn’t seem as thick as yours. Idk what I’m doing wrong 😢
Shops differ, some have different hardnesses. If you wire is too thin, maybe go a gauge thicker? I'm in the UK, so I buy from metalclays4you.
Where did you get your tools fro
Im in the UK, so I bought mine from cooksongold, but they're made in America, so if you're in the states they should be quite easy to get hold of 👍
What is your trick to having such straight wire?
I was always adjusting and straightening my wire but I don't have to do it so much lately. I think it just gets easier with time and you change how you work to avoid bending them so much. It can't always be avoided so work slowly and keep adjusting them as you go 👍 Hope this helps 💕
👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
😁😁😁💕💕💕

I gave up at 8:28. My lines don't look pretty like yours. Which tends to always be the case.
Oh no...so sorry to hear. I'd love to hear you gave it another go, take it slow, let the wire lead the way.

Thank you 💕
