Julia Bloomfield was the soul of the Getty Research Institute Publications Program. I interacted with her years ago only over email, and over email you could quickly tell she is an extraordinary person. Delighted to see her enjoying and taking care of this extraordinary house.
She’s a custodian of history professionally and personally. Love it

What do you mean about "being a vibe"? "Vibe" being one of the most ambiguous words out there and and all, you know
@@kristjanpeik7381 it's just a slang term, urban dictionary 'a reaction of one person to another person or an event or a place perhaps'. It's usually (and in this case) a positive reaction and the vibe doesn't have to be specified but can mean any or all of the following 'inspirational, unique, quirky, eye-catching, funny etc. etc.' - it's assumed we all 'get' the same vibe from the person/place, or have a similar reaction, so it doesn't have to be specified, we just 'get it'.
So, instead of saying what you mean (for example, that she is unique, funny etc.) you just go for the more ambiguous term and assume that others will catch the more precise descriptions, meanings and messages you packaged into to the "vibe" term? Loved seeing this home. The poster in the kitchen above the sink is artwork made by my grandfather. I gasped when I saw it, and am rather touched that is lives in such a well-curated space.

Watching every day videos of 30yo people with a flat designed and furniture bought from scratch makes clear we need more mature people examples. There is the true knowledge, practicality, comfort, endurance and not simply consumism and latest trend.

Its not my personal taste but it is a gorgeous home - timeless and modern. This lady has a very young spirit. Some of the chairs look beautiful but hard and a little uncomfortable. I like a little bit of cushion. But, for someone in great shape like Julia, they are perfect.

There is a feeling of great peace in this place. Partly it's the neighbourhood, the brick and mature plants and trees. But the architecture and the interior shifts that have taken place over the years really does give a warm casual vibe to the home. Interesting, not overdone, still chic of course, but not severe or trying too hard at all. I like this story and Julia fits very well there.
