      Thank you.
Yes, I don't think that the town centre has changed that much over the years, thankfully.
It is a really lovely town.
      Cheers,
      Paul

Great photos & video of a lovely town. I thing there are more ducks than people in Tavistock.

Hello Paul - greetings from Poland
A wonderful video - thank you so much for producing it.
The introduction was gorgeous. How interesting to see an old engine house - a monument to Tavistocks growth and wealth.
This is a lovely town with most interesting achitecture. Fabulous market halls - lovely to hear Devon accent during your filming there.
Turning to railways, what a good idea to reopen the line to Tavistock. If Oakhampton can do it, why not Tavistock? The view from the railway viaduct was very impresive. I wonder if the owner of the old Tavistock North station and its buildings is responsible for the upkeep of the viaduct?
Crossing the canal was lovely to see the improvements made for the publics use. Again, my friend, you excelled yourself with the most beautiful still photographs. You ought to publish them!

From the viaduct southwards the line is entirely clear to Bere Alston apart from a couple of demolished road bridge's, however (as shown) further north there is intensive development around the former station with the West Devon HQ being sited on the goods yard
Sadly this prevents the lines reinstatement north of here where it survives as the 'Granite Way' cyclepath to Okehampton

      @westcountrywanderings  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, hopefully the line to Bere Alston from Tavistock will reopen - why they don't just get on and do it, is beyond me, after survey after survey have said that it is viable as a railway. As you say though reopening to Okehampton though is much trickier. I can't see the other former station and the line to Plymouth, via the Plym Valley ever reopening though. Cheers Stephen.

      @@westcountrywanderings
The Tamar Valley line like most surviving
West Country branches is essentially just
a long siding as modern railway traction
no longer requires track loops for reversing
the engine, therefore a future rebuilt
      Tavistock station would only need
to consist of a single track and platform
      Personally I'd compulsory purchase the
row of houses wrongly built at the end of
the viaduct on the north side of Tavistock
station and site the platform there 👍

Fell off in Tavistock. My foot caught in my trouser leg and that's how the bottle broke.
