Hi I want to use breakout rooms to do host a virtual networking event, where people from my organisation can meet 121 at random. When using assign people 'automatically' at random in the past though after you have used the function once it then seems to put them back in the same groups if I then use breakout rooms in the same session. Is there a way to truly make it at random each time?
Thank you!!! I was looking for this exact feature... to assign people automatically in the same group as we will be breaking out multiple times with the same Team. Glad it works that way - sorry it doesn't solve your purpose though.
I had someone else ask me about this as well. Check out my Idea's to Reality video (th-cam.com/video/i2zPunmDnSo/w-d-xo.html) and add a feature request. If you post the link here we can get everyone to vote on it as well!! :-)
In class, students walk around the room and add their thoughts to giant post it boards. Can I create breakout rooms, auto send them to random rooms, pull everyone back, send them to another random room. In the breakout rooms, they would be able to see whatever the prior group was doing....on a document or whiteboard and be able to add their own thoughts? (Does that even make sense?)
It does but I don't think there is a way for content to persist in the breakouts, however. Maybe us break out rooms in conjunction with Webex teams spaces...? Complicates things a bit of course
What about if you have a cohost? Can the cohost stay in the main room? or when you do automatic breakout assignment it will be forced to go to one of the b/o rooms?
How can I ensure if 100 people have 3 breakout sessions that if each session has 1 presenter the participant moves from one session to another? Can they move from 1 session to the other ? Or I have to as a host? Thanks so much for amazing video!
Great video. Will try this in next weeks 6 workshops. Any suggestion for the best way the break out groups can sum up their discussion and present (share) in the main meeting afterwards?
Really the thing to do would probably be for the each group leader to start a document of notes and then share that out once back into the main meeting group.
Hi, Is it possible for different breakout groups have different presenters to share their screens/whiteboards? I tried and sometimes it shows only one presenter in entire sessions.😖
Hi, very nice and informative video. Breakout is a great tool for meetings and educators!! I wonder and this is my question is is SHARING is active through breakouts, because i havent it till now! It would be great, if it worked! thanks!
My first two attempts were disasters. Some members were stuck in the "lobby", despite my repeated attempts to assign them to groups manually (after the initial automatic start).
Hi, quick question. Is there a way to get / export a list of the participants in each breakout session? I want to use the automatic feature that randomly assigns people in groups and then after the session, I want to be able to email each breakout group, so need to know who was in each breakout
Hi everybody. This is my case: I formed 3 breakout sessions. At one of them I initiated a poll and I found that it appears in the other two breakout sessions. I don't want this. How do I proceed, please? Thank you.
Hi, is it possible to have multiple layers of break-out sessions? e.g. 100 participants split up in 4 x 25 and split those 25 participants up in 5 x 5 sub groups to work each on a specific tasker in a specific field. Thank you!
I could see the use case but that's not possible today to my knowledge. You could name the groups "group 1 main" "group 1 - breakout 1" "group 1 - breakout 2", etc and allow participants to enter and exist themselves potentially...
Can I share my screen as a host to multiple breakout sessions so every participant can see my screen? Or do they have to leave the session first? Can I also communicate via audio to all participants even though they are in different sessions?
Hi! Can I add participants to an existent session or to create more sessions while the other sessions are still running (without interrupting them)? There are cases where groups are formed along the main session and participants join progressively...
In the case where breakouts are pre assigned the user will be dropped back into the proper breakout. In a case where someone leaves / drops I believe they will need to be re assigned. There are some security reasons for this I believe.
Just a host or a co host can move in and out of the separate rooms. Perhaps you could make everyone a co host but that might really get ugly for a dozen of reasons...
I create 2 breakout sessions, people join there automatically but the problem is that we all (host+participants) remain at the main room as well. As a result everybody can listen to everybody. Even if I (as a host+presenter) join one breakout session, they can hear me from the other and vice versa. Can you help me to fix this problem?
I had a situation recently where I set up the Breakouts at the start of the meeting. Several people joined after that, and I was unable to add them to the Breakouts? Is this "normal," or did something go wrong? Do I have to wait until every single invitee has joined (it was a 34 person meeting) before setting up breakouts? I wanted to set them up early so I didn't have to do it in the moment. I look forward to being able to set them up BEFORE the meeting.
There is an ability to pre assign participants coming. If something doesn't see right certainly work with your IT group to open a case for the problem.
@@TheTechCatalyst I saw that it is coming, but I'm curious about what happened to me the other night. We were hosting a group of parents (elementary school). We had a single session to start and then after about 30 minutes, a Breakout for parents of one age group while the rest were staying in the main session. I created the Breakout in the first five minutes of the meeting, but some parents joined after I had created them. When I tried to add them to the Breakout, they didn't show up in my options for people to add. I could see them on screen and in the Participants list. Is this normal behavior?
Hi, thanks for the great video! I have a question: Let's say I have invited 30 participants for a meeting, can I pre-assign the participants to different group before they log on to the meeting?
Thank you for this great video. I have a one question, if the person present in breakout room is speaking and suppose the host is in the main meeting group is it possible for host to hear what's going on in the breakout room without entering. Kindly reply me. Thank you❤️

Hi Great video. Can all the breakout sessions appear in the main session right panel so attendees can join or leave whichever breakout they want, like you did? Or is that only for hosts and or presenters/panelists? Thanks!
Do you have a similar video showing the participants perspective when they are moved to breakout sessions and when you end the breakouts and they return to the main meeting?
@@TheTechCatalyst I have a similar question. What are participants seeing/doing while I choose their breakout rooms? Hello! Can participants in the breakout rooms communicate with the host if they have questions? I see that the host can 'broadcast' to the groups, but I wondered if participants can communicate with the host when they are in their groups if they have questions, etc. Thanks!
That feature is coming in a near term release I'm told. I think at this point you will need to ensure someone in each group can share their screen with the document open.
They cannot. Only option would be if they are a host / co host or if they are permitted to jump back to the main session: th-cam.com/video/KzScm0WhGQQ/w-d-xo.html
