    Completely agree. Soon as it was announced it was 1st person I lost interest. I've been saying this for years that there needs to be more 3rd person games out there but I guess its cheaper to make a generic 1st person shooter!

      I think a modern 3rd persno navii character would need such movement animations that at ubisoft are too lazy to do that. Imagine having movement fluidity like in prototype

      @GmoneyMozart  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The focus of this game should have been fluid 3rd person animations and the parkour around the game world imo. Add in awesome stealth combat and then normal combat with amazing moves and abilities. They chose a generic boring route. Oh well…

    “Why the video game about entering the body of an avatar and seeing through their eyes got it wrong by allowing you to enter the body and see through their eyes, despite first-person games being the most popular kind!”
    TLDW: “I prefer watching the game play itself.”

      Waste of an IP in first person with generic fps gameplay. Should have been a 3rd person game with cool agile moves and abilities with crisp animations. That’s where 3rd person shines and this game deserved that. Now it’s just another generic first person game with no soul. A game like this deserves 3rd person love not your shabby call of duty gameplay.

      @@GmoneyMozart , the game is crap, but it's not because of its perspective. Mirror's Edge is evidence that you can have acrobatics in first-person and have it look good, and there are others that even spin the camera for flips and such. Don't blame the perspective for the company not knowing how to make an interesting game.

  • @Zodiac3107

    I think more games should adapt the option of having both! I mean, Ratchet & Clank on the PS2 made it work. Avatars Pandora is one of the most insanely beautiful looking fictional planets ever created. I would definitely like to play the game in both perspectives. Hell! I honestly wouldn't mind a VR mode either, but, you get what you get. Does this make or break the game? Absolutely not! The Avatar game for PSP will always be my favourite though.

      ya in VR it's a dif story. When all games go VR I can let go of third person but until then I still think a lot of games should be in third and def have the option for both.

      @@GmoneyMozartThird Person is a much better option! Leave first person to Battlefield and Call of Duty unless you can do both.

    It just looks boring to be honest, it's a game we've already played 10 years ago even with Farcry 3. I wholeheartedly believe it was forced on Massive to make the game resemble Farcry as it's a safe option that Ubisoft knows will sell okay, hoping the Avatar franchise tips the scales. It's sad because who knows if we'll actually get another Avatar game if this flops.
    Horizon Zero Dawn is the first game that comes to mind when thinking of what an Avatar game should be like.

    • @GmoneyMozart

    This game shouldn't be another tree hugger revolution anyway.
    I would've happily play the game in first if we play as the marines exterminating the Navi or whatever they're called. Crushing alien scum with mechs? That's gameplay.

    This was the perfect game to actually make it even more like Farcry tbh. You cant order your Banshee or any creature to attack. Ubi should have allowed us tp use the environment a ton more with traps, plants, poisons etc ubi had one of the greatest worlds to create a game and they chose a FPS? 🤔 thats not the direction i would have chosen tbh

    • @GmoneyMozart
      @GmoneyMozart  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There seems to be so much missing I'm not sure what they were thinking. This IP could have been something really big.

    • @KyleneZ
      @KyleneZ 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Curious, but if you were given the choice how would you have directed the game?

    • @MrTrip666
      @MrTrip666 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@KyleneZ I think I would have chosen a direction more akin to the style of Ghost of Tsushima's gameplay.
      Just like GOT, you can play more as a honourable Samurai or a disgraceful Ghost. In Avatar, if you play more like a Navi, you gain the respect of the Navi people easier using their techniques in hunting and foraging. This style will allow you to use poisons and toxins that you can acquire from different plants and creatures to help fight the enemy. You can use them to cause hallucinations, outright kill or create natural smoke bombs to confuse the enemy. The use of a bow, knife, spear, or hatchet as your main combat style aswel as creating traps. You can order your Banshee to attack, kill, or create a diversion whilst you infiltrate enemy bases. You have a bonus in hunting, tracking, and use of the environment for traversal of Pandora.
      The other path is more of a soldier and more like the Ghost from GOT. You have the use of different firearms and explosives, gadgets, and different vehicles. Better camouflage to blend into Pandora. Think more like Quaritch in Avatar2.
      Would have been cool to actually use Eywa to help guide you like Jin uses the wind. When connected to Eywa, she helps you see enemy footprints instead of just having wallhacks.
      I'd have prefered to create my own Navi character. Have a skill tree similar to GOT and ways to upgrade your weapons and banshee/vehicle.
      The game should have been in 3rd person as to really make you feel like one of the Navi people. It would have been great to be able to actually see your Avatar climb trees and vines, perform stealth takedowns, and just traverse the open world and would have benefited this game tremendously imo.

    You hit the nail on the head bro! I've been arguing with people for the past two days on why games like Avatar and Robocop should have been 3rd person! An IP like this that has such a visually unique character needed to be in 3rd person so we can see the details of the character and see great animations of parkour jumping from tree to tree flipping over gorges, swinging from vines, skydiving off mountains and landing on our mounts, creeping through lush forest environments, crouching and crawling through tall grass! Combat shouldn't just be subjugated to just shooting an arrow or gun either! The Navi have excellent hand to hand combat, i.e. the films show that, so we should be able to fight and melee kill. They really need to delay this game, another year or two and rethink the character gameplay perspective. Same with Robocop, what makes Robocop cool is visually seeing how cool he looks, when walking and shooting. Seeing bullets bounce off him, the dope poses he does shooting enemies, seeing him take cover behind walls during heavy gunfights etc! Not just a floating hand and gun with different ammo types! Both games could have just had an FPS mode for aiming so you can aim down the targeting sights like Ghost Recon and Assassin Creed. Such big fails and missed opportunities to take huge IP's and bring them to life like in the movies! This was a lazy cash in for Ubi, just take Far Cry Primal, slap the Avatar IP on it and change the environments and characters to look like Pandora!

      I’m so disappointed what this game turned out to be. I have to be honest, there is nothing creatively exciting about this IP. Another FPS just in an avatar world. I think massive could have done so much better. I’ll probably wait for a sale. And yo the fact that there’s no hand to hand combat…very weird…I think it’s going to be a mediocre experience. Sad…
