I misspoke about the lockpick skill, there is 1 tier of the skill & 2 tiers of locks. Some you can unlock without the skill and the more advanced ones that require the skill
I've been playing this for a few years and keep going back to it. It's truly a good time waster if you love zombie games. I can't wait for eventual multiplayer.
i love the game and i think the amount of content is insane - like the number of items you can loot rivals something like day z or tarkov and its a small indie title - i would not personally recommend first person mode yet (its also marked as being in development, because its quirky at the moment) if this would get a proper pov mode with ironsight and real fps controls and animations, that would be my dream. backpack stacking off elevated this game for me a littl ebit since all the cool containers got worth more since keycase in backpack and so on still work - also made the beginning really cool, where you have only one backpack, and then a vehicle trunk until you finally build a few depots somewhere. so rewarding
Even in its current state with the flaws and what not, I still enjoy the first person mode quite a bit. I love immersing myself in a no hud fps view. Proper fps controls, animations etc. will be incredible. The backpack stacking has been fun in my current run because I'm just collecting heaps of random stuff to build back at my base and just enjoying a pretty casual playthrough. But I'm also looking forward to doing a run later with no backpack in backpack and some other difficulty tweaks to make things a bit more intense. As you mentioned the initial gearing up stage and the higher tier containers will feel more rewarding and the item specific containers you can carry like ammo, medical etc. will feel a chunk more useful.
I agree 100% at around 3 minutes in with the jankiness of switching weapons while being swarmed by zombies, and the first person jank and alignments, I hope these get fixed over time, but this truly is an amazing gem, and I don't say it lightly but this may be my favorite zombie survival game of all time. All the others have one or two great things, but this has it all, the world is it's own character, the atmosphere is great, it feels you can really live in the world. The looting is pretty balanced and logical. I just look forward to seeing this fully developed.
i like it cuz the dev is actively working on it and listening to the community, its very much worth getting the game if you love open world zombie survival (its also made by a solo dev)
Good Video, i agree with you on the perspective of Hitboxes aswell as Gasmask Filter Key. Maybe like Metro, have a Hotkey so you switch Filter with Animation. :D On Overall, i agree with everything.
very good video, you sound like an actual human and not some ai generated corporate text the likes of which you see with big channels doing "game reviews" on YT
It's very easy to get sucked into it, I sat down the other night to do a short little 30 minute scavenging trip before bed, 3 hours later I was still going.
I really enjoy your channel, the only criticism I have is how you're talking. It feels like you're aware that you're talking into the mic and less like you're chatting with us about the game. Best of luck though I hope you can grow your channel. :)
@@bigbobrossa8524 it's got a rhythm to it but feels awkward as hell at first and even once you get used to it, it for sure still feels a bit funky sometimes. I also mostly stick to 1 or 2 at a time in melee
I think there is a major issue with melee and how enemies try to melee the player. They come too close to the player, essentially trying to mash their body up against the players. Instead, they should come within arms reach, and swing at the player. If they did this, then melee would feel much more polished.
@@arkitektbmw I think I agree that they come a bit to close, also mob up weirdly in a clump and try to make you part of the blob by as you said getting right up against the player. A bit of work on collision and distance they attack from would go a long way to making it feel better to fight in melee. Now that I think about it, I think them getting too close may actually be what caused some of the hitbox issues I talked about in the video. I think when they were right up in my face I might have been swinging past the hit box.
I played DeadPoly a while back, only briefly though, it was ok from what I remember but SurrounDead has pulled me in a lot more and feels more developed and overall a better implementation of mechanics and more fleshed out, more content etc. and more in line with what I enjoy in this kind of game. That said it was a while ago that I played DeadPoly and the games are similar, they might even share some purchased assets but I'm not 100% on that. Also DeadPoly may have seen updates since I played. If you're curious I actually made a video about DeadPoly back when I played it (over a year ago) - th-cam.com/video/aFOV86iufpU/w-d-xo.html
I found that they need to work on the RNG, maybe use a prime number RNG like mp3 players do, because I have gone to the same place quite a few times and found the same Legendary weapon every time.
It has so much potential. It's decent right now, but man could it be good. You touched a lot of the same points I thought so myself. Next time just try to write a script to get your point across better.
So much potential! Pretty excited to see where the game is at once a few more parts of the road map have been completed. Yeah I rambled a bit in this one...These days I usually just do dot points which most of the time has been fine, but think I'm a bit rusty and needed to collect my thoughts a bit more maybe.
@@ChurchyPlays They've made tons of progress in the past year or so since when I bought it. But they've still got a long way to go. Whenever I do play it I get lost in it. It's so damn immersive.

This is a little hidden gem of an indie title. Worth the few bucks.

I was in the mood for a zombie game and 100% Surroundead is great to sink some time into for zombie fans. I'm also pretty excited for multiplayer.
Wait is multiplayer really coming and when ???
It's a great day when there's a new Churchy vid! Pretty keen to check out this game!

thannkyou for making this video and bringing this video to my attention!
The best thing is the dev actually updates the game so it'll just get better
I'd say more like a game called Unturned even looks just like it but even that game was a mix of others as well
Looks like unturned on steroids

Something like Metro was exactly what I was thinking.
unturned vibes
I think its the same engine but this one is a little more “realistic”
@@MamaMia84oo7 ue4 i think. unturned uses unity
Is it the same devs? @@MamaMia84oo7
i bought this game too recently after a couple videos on youtube showed up, I LOVE IT.
I wish they'd make more low poly complex games like these.

That turning in a circle thing happens to me as the alt key “sticks” after alt tabbing a bit
great review!
I thought you were Rocket Jump Ninja for a sec
Wow, this game has so much potential. Melee combat needs to be heavily improved.
just bought it yesterday ALREADY have 9 hours its so hard to stop playing and i also agree with the first person stuff it does feel a bit weird

@@ChurchyPlays easily the best pve lowpoly game ive played and the stuff they have planned is impressive for not being a AAA company
Def a pickup when Multiplayer releases
Sick game man
i also would like if there an option to hold breath while you use sniper because when u zoom from a far area the camera shake to much

Yeah Melee feels horrible, I avoid fighting more than one in melee.

How were you able to turn off the hud?
I would be allover this if i had a questing system , i know thats planned.
If u have played polydead which of the games would you say is best?

I'm in! Looks sick
Any plans for co op or multiplayer at any point? This looks promising but I don't often enjoy solo survival without some PvP elements incorporated
yeah co-op is in the road map but it's in the very last section of the road map.
What engine is this on?
GRIND HORDE BEACONS YOU GET EXREMELY RICH
is there available mods here like the project zomboid?
Mods don't seem to be available yet but based off a quick bit of googling, I think steam workshop/mods may be a planned feature later in development
there is another game like it called FARGONE
Sounds like a pretty cool game to me.... totally unbiased view
This look like trash to play.
