    This is very upsetting because living in Toronto is a lot worse than Bowmanville, because the stop and go in Toronto is horrible. He is scaring people from moving anywhere. Bowmanville is very historic, it has beautiful buildings and homes. The internet is just fine, cancer is not a problem, jobs availability is high, traffic is bad anywhere. This guy really needs to do better research on Bowmanville. Bowmanville also has a huge public library, Walmart, Canadian Tire, shoppers drug mart, several great restaurants, parades are plentiful, City bus. So do your own research on where you choose to live, don’t just go by 1 persons opinion (even if they are in real estate).

      Yeah it's been perfect here, moved in 2021. He clearly didn't do his research, especially when he said that bit about cancer and that he hadn't actually checked the validity of the statement but still decided to tell people you might get cancer living here lol .. I'm surprised he didn't mention the trains, that's literally the only thing that might be considered a drawback, but I don't think he even knows about them

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I clearly don't know enough about Bowmanville..to be honest that's why I stopped doing videos about them. I was going too much by other people's info. Either way thanks for watching

    I disagree with the point on internet. been living here since 2004 and have had no issues with internet ever. I also disagree with the nuclear power point. its invalid. Nuclear is one of the safest industries in Canada and is extremely regulated(I work there). You also would get more radiation from a flight to Calgary from Toronto than living one year right beside the plant.

      @BradGoetz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Good to hear you've had no issues with internet. In terms of the nuclear power, I do agree with you. It's honestly more of a stigma for those looking to more to the area. But I feel it has had much more attention in Pickering then it has in Clarington.

    Moved here in 2021, love it here, ive lived downtown toronto, vaughan, and now here, by far the best of the 3, and the people are extremely friendly

    Con is far from Toronto, I'm sorry but that's the positive part. Anyone that has lived in Toronto understand why people are trying to stay as far as possible, and it's only getting better in Toronto 😂.. I've worked at Pickering plant for 10 years and Darlington for 4. Great place to work and very safe. World renowned plants. Pickering has been in operation since 71.

    Bowmanville is a great city to live in. It has gotten more expensive but sonhas all the GTA. If commute is a concern the commute from Bowmanville is FAAAAR better than the commute from milton or west end into the city. On a non rush hour time it takes 40 minutes to be right downtown, which really isn't that bad. There is all the regular chain stores as far as shopping goes and restaurants. Internet is fine now with the implementations of fiber and starlink in more rural areas. There is a local hospital, good schools, a local police staion and forensics unit. The nuclear plant is rated as one of the safest and is the cleanest power plant in north america, treating all waste water that leaves the plant. Also, Bowmanvile and Clarington is one of only a handful of places that doesn't use flouride in the water treatment process if that is important to you. We have very friendly residents and alot of great festivals and activities. Bowmanville has a great soccer and hockey community with sports complexes in several locations. Doctors and specialists are very abundant locally and in Oshawa whichbis a 10 minute drive away. If you like living in a city but still want that small town feel with the same amenities, Bowmanville is worth a look.

    If you live in Bowmanville and work in Toronto with no car, reliant on public transport, it it feasible? How do you get to the city? Are there buses that go to Oshawa to catch the Go Train?

    • @BradGoetz
      @BradGoetz  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for watching and commenting. There are busses available. Their are go busses that can take you to the go train station in Oshawa until the train station in bowmanville is operational.

    I’ve lived in Bowmanville since 2003. Internet is not a problem as long as you don’t live north of Taunton. Any rural area will not have as good internet. As for traffic, anything east of Toronto is not great. Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax Pickering, etc. The power plant is away from residential so no worry. The he main reason people move to Clarington is cause the houses are cheaper as well as the taxes. Clarington is actually near the top of growth in Canada. Nothing to worry about living in Bowmanville.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. The population growth has gotten crazy in most parts of Durham. Traffic has increased and stores have longer lines and get out of stock of things quicker, especially when we are dealing with shortages (baby formula, kid medicine, toilette paper)....but that is kind of all over the GTA.

    Ridiculous ! Bowmanville is a great small town with all the amenities for modern living.
    Very unfair report since none of the benefits covered. Not. Report to trust!

    Also, the water turns brown now and then! And in the summer you can smell the manure when it gets sprayed, and the smell of garbage when the plant does it thing. 👍 And there is teenagers that go around in about February and if you still have your Christmas lights up they will cut the plugs. And there is a lady that was caught stealing peoples potted plants in the spring and summer.
