We didn’t test Insta360 ONE R to its full depth in this ep but this underwater camera is waterproof up to 5 meters (16.4ft). Always install your Insta360 ONE R into the Mounting Bracket before taking it into water (so don’t do what we did 😉)! For taking ONE R even deeper or for seamless stitching with the Dual-Lens 360 Mod, check out the dive cases which can take you up to 60 meters deep.

Hi, I just bought an Insta360 One R. It has a slight gap between the battery and the core after assembly, is it normal? I am afraid it doesn't waterproof even with a Mounting Bracket.
love this camera. Works great in or out of water.
Maybe the most important thing would have been to show exactly what needs to be done to ensure that the camera is OK to go into water

Ally of good points here. Only had mine a few days but now worried about putting it underwater which was one of the reason I got it. If it's in the supplied housing and it leaks. Is it covered by the warranty?

Insta specifically state that the Insta360 One R isn't waterproof without the bracket so why is it being shown being put in water without the bracket?

Hi Darren! Thank you for your feedback! We were testing ONE R to its limits in extreme conditions in this episode so don't do what we did 😉. Always install your Insta360 ONE R into the Mounting Bracket before taking it into the water so your ONE R will be 100% safe.
Tfive Productions I think it’s the one that comes with the mounting bracket. It’s waterproof to 5m. With the waterproof bracket it’s waterproof to 60m.

I wanted to test my Underwater casing for my One R, I wanted to know, what is the best setting for underwater videos? Should Auto function be Okay? Or is there a best setting? Thanks.

Hey Hannah, Ric here from Western Australia, Love your channel and I can sadly confirm that definitely the One R is not waterproof when “Someone” forgets to close the SD card slot, so much so the it wrecked the Brain , the 360 mod and the battery, when the SD slot is open water can and sadly and did flow through the brain the 360 mod and the battery, I am usually pedantic about checking that everything is right before I use any of my gear, and I know how I missed it when the One R is in the housing you can’t see if the SD cover is open or closed unless you look directly in, At the end of the day my bad and my expense lesson, $850 latter and I am the proud and extra carful owner of my second One R, Love you channel, keep up the great content.

Hello,
I went diving today with this camera using the default lens (the flat one) during a somewhat cloudy day and the footage was almost completely black where as my gopro hero 7 black had no issues. I even used two 1000 lumen flashlights on my rig and was only able to get a decent shot when i was almost touching my target. What settings should i use when diving with this camera as i want to use it mainly for diving?
Is it on auto or manual? I haven’t done much underwater with mine yet but it’s been fine so far
Thank you for your videos on 360 cameras. I have used the insta 360 one R for about a week. Well, the camera and Idea is good, I can't say I'm a happy user yet. I have certainly had some glitches with it. It does get very hot at times hot quickly.. The camera stops working and I have to take it apart to cool it down. You better get several batteries because battery life is less to be desired.
The editing workflow for beginners is horrible. You certainly better have a phone or Ipad with the largest storage possible or forget about it. Connecting the camera to the Pc will have issues and must make an attempt several times before it actually connects to download files. An issue several of my friends also have had with the one R . This is a camera you must practice and practice and practice to get familiar with it.
What camera was used to record this Vlog? Surely not 1" mod because it cannot focus that close to a face as in the footage.
Hey Evan, Hannah here! I vlogged this on a DSLR, however, for future episodes that I'm currently filming, I will be vlogging and capturing all BTS/ B-roll using the twin edition and one inch! :)
Thanks for the reply Hannah. I've just started vlogging myself, and shot my footage all on insta360 dual lens. And was thinking weather a 1" would be handy and/or easier to work with when 360 footage is not necessary. Here is my first video ever. that was shot on my Canon EOS R with 24-105 f4 IS and RF35mm f1.8 macro, that being said if you use the insta360 4k mod you can get macro as well

My Oner just died after I submerged it a few cms into water. It was inside it's mounting bracket and completely closed as suggested on the manual so I'm quite disappointed 😞

Is that normal if there’s a gap between to battery and the rest of it because it’s supposed to be waterproof
do you have a space between the battery and the two modules above?
Yes there is a space between the battery and the Mods, but that is normal there is a very small rubber seal around the battery terminal and that is where the battery seals, so water can flow between the battery and mods but it can’t go anywhere critical.

Mine couldn’t even survive 5 minutes in a shallow bath tub. Not happy. I had the bracket on and the sd card slot was properly closed.

Hey Selina, Hannah here!! That's why I made this episode 🤪 I've always had this fear because it goes against human instinct. Get your camera in the mounting bracket and go for it!

Just took my One R to Kauai and was snorkeling with it, not even diving deep and my WHOLE CAMERA is fried! When I tried to turn it on after only a couple of minutes into my snorkel, it would not turn on after trying three times, so I just left it, finished my snokel disappointed by having no footage. When I got back to my hotel later that day I took everything apart and there was corrosion on all of the leads, the battery pack, the 360 lens slots and the main body slots. I was using the camera with a selfie stick, so it was in its case at all times. Now I have no footage from my trip (except for a bit at the start) and I am out the entire cost of the camera. Yes all doors were sealed, how could I have gotten it into its case without them being in place? BEWARE putting your One R underwater!!!!!
Is this camera really waterproof? Or just rain proof?
I used this camera for the first time in the water on Friday, and well let’s just say it was not water proof. I had it in less than 4 inches of calm salt water and now the camera no longer turns on. Super disappointed!
It's only waterproofed with the case... Do not use ist without the case under water... It's all described in the insta website... If you do crazy activities in the water, you need the dive case!

had mine (4k mod) today first time in water... just 1 meter... after 3 min it died. disassembled all, dried and still let it dry... not working anymore

This feels misleading as the instructions say the camera is not waterproof without being in the cage, and yet you place the regular camera in water...
pro tip : you can watch movies at flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.

Hola Ihannah, cuando vi por primera vez la cámara Insta360 ONE , me enamore de ella, me parecía un concepto muy nuevo y revolucionario. Los vídeos que he visto de ella era de muy buena calidad de imagen y estabilización... pero después de ver los últimos vídeos de la propaganda sobre los youtuber (regalo de cámara) veo que no le dan muy buena valoración en comparación con la GOPRO.. ¿que ha pasado? O los TH-camr no han sabido sacarle el provecho a la cámara (@Willyfoxx es el único que veo que pone bien la cámara) o realmente no es tan buena como dices... ya me gustaría poder haber sido uno de los afortunados de "probar" esta cámara y así saldría de dudas si se buena o no.. "un regalito" no estaría mal ¿no?

Red light it's always on after turning off the camera after 20 secs under a pool. Any one is experiencing this?
It's only waterproofed with the case... Do not use ist without the case under water... It's all described in the insta website... If you do crazy activities in the water, you need the dive case!
From their website: "ONE R is waterproof without a case. But you must install ONE R into the Mounting Bracket for ONE R to be waterproof".

If solve the steam inside the lens, I think is the perfect camera. I hope insta will seriously take action in this case,
@@TROYMING1 when does it steam up? If only used it at night at at noon and it's really hot where I left be (up to 40c)
@@MuraMuraLoL mine got fog inside when it was colder, around 10-15 degrees Celsius and also inside the one inch mod, at the filter, the 360 never fogged up again though maybe because it's hotter now, been using it around 30C recording for 15minutes and no problems
The only big problem I see is audio, it's sooo bad like really bad, unusable for riding motorbikes, I've tried every setting and the audio is just horrible

@insta360 can you confirm what the conditions are for using the camera without the frame I'm sure the documentation says the camera is not waterproof without the frame yet you're going mad with this in this video without using the frame. Your own website says this, yet you're not doing this. What's going on? - "Insta360 ONE R is waterproof to 5 meters when built. That means all components are locked together and ONE R is secured in the Mounting Bracket."
So it is definitely waterproof even without casing

Water droplets keep changing my shooting settings while surfing with it. Even opens the lock screen some how.

I have this camera water got inside, went to do some windsurfing the when I check the camera is not turning in I thought it was low battery but when I separate the battery I realized that water is coming out from the connection port of the battery then when I separate the lens from the body it had water in the camera connectors too, when I got home I put it inside the oven at 100degrees hoping that water inside evaporates, after few hours and let the temperature get low I turned on and it worked but won't charge the battery or recognize the battery, only work with us plugged to charguer, so Now I'm going to sell it asap and buy something else, meaby max, sadly it was taking nice footage , the app(Android) is shit but was even thinking on buy any old iPhone only for editing insta360 videos but if it cannot work in the water it is useless for me, not talking about the foggy problem of the 360 lens and the red dot caused by the direct sunlight.anyways hoping the next modular camera fix all lol of these problems, good luck and before you guys sell a product please for God's sake test it well test it in the water cold water warm water deep water dirty water sea water etc, test the sunlight every angle , test the temperature hot cold, and when assembling the lens don't forget to do it in a dry place with 0 umidity and use vacuum before sealing the lens otherwise humidity gets trapped into the fucking lens!!! And fire your engineers

Funny thing! I put mine in the water for the first time on Friday and now it doesn’t turn on. Btw ur joking rite it took 6 months to get it fixed! 😳
@Aravind the charge port cover has a problem, it sometimes lets water in. Even if you do everything correctly water can still get into the charge port. It is highly recommend you get the dive case when using it in water.
