Hi! Regarding the eyeshadow not picking up on camera: multichromes, holographics etc. don't show up in softbox lights because they light it from every direction, which is kinda the opposite of what those shades need - that's why they show up best in phone flashes, sunlight etc. 😊 Simply Nailogical has a lot of tips on that 😂
Regarding the ben nye powder: I think it may have been the way you used it! Try dusting on a small amount with a loose powder brush instead of loading it up on a damp sponge. Julia Adams uses the huda beauty pink powder with a brush, and seems to love it.
I'm sure the power grip primer is great for a lot of folks but I have issues with foundation clinging strangely to weird spots and dry patches anyway, so sticky primers only accentuate it and make it look flakey and such. However, for anyone else having similar issues the elf pink pump primer actually combats it well (it's either the poreless or mattifying one) and makes several of my foundations workable instead of entirety useless. It is a slippery not quite silicone type feel, but I've actually never noticed it making my foundation 'slip off' or last less. And I'm oily skinned where I dont have strange dry patches and my face lasts all day with it.
I've been using NARS Torrid for years and I always wondered why Orgasm had all the hype when Torrid is a much, much nicer colour so glad to see that everyone is finally seeing how stunning Torrid is. It does have tiny little shimmers in it and it's gorgeous! You only need a tiny amount of the liquid stuff, not even half a pump and it goes so far but yeah, definitely shake the guts out of it first!
Sophie… Duo & Multichromes will never properly show in natural/soft-box or ring lights! For all colors to be viewed you have to photograph & film with low light or black light. The DM chrome flakes are supposed to be a thin topper over a creamy base. Black is definitely a great option, but the NYX eye crayons in multiple colors work very well too. Danessa is one of the most well known makeup artists in the US & all of her products are sold through Sephora here. No matter what people on TikTok say, do not BAKE with pink powder! That only works occasionally for people with cool or neutral undertones. I think it’s more flattering to use one drop of pink liquid blush mixed with my concealer or to simply brush a small amount of powder on to set. Give it another go & see what you think. You are gorgeous regardless of whether the latest 'trend' works for you or not 🤗💜!!
I think danessa myricks is the celebrity makeup artist who did gigi hadid’s makeup for her birthday, she did the inner part of her eyes this golden shimmer and black eyeliner my fav eyemakeup look ever, anyways i think this is the gold shimmer that she used it instantly reminded me of that look i love it, soph, you killed this look love it❤️
I think the Ben Nye powder is for dark skin tones or those with particularly potent dark circles . I feel like a lot of people think they have fake circles when they don’t as we have gotten used to not seeing skin in real person and real skin .
I find lavender powder for fair skin tones the best! I love the fenty one! But I know what you mean about tinted powders, banana powder never worked for me 😂
Bessame cosmetics has a pink powder that is super super light pink. I am not sure if they ship to the UK though. Also Ben Nye make up is used for the stage I would never think to use it in my everyday life but that is just me.
The Danessa Myricks Flakes look so cool! I have seen them all over IG and they do look awesome. I like that they're already adhesive. I have some loose multichrome Flakes and they're so much harder to use
honestly I kinda love that pink powder on you, it gives a sun kissed lil tint. obviously it could look very different in person but I think it looks very cute :)
Absolutely loved this video! I mix the pink Ben Nye powder with a lighter translucent powder and it gives such a pretty brightened look! Try it mixed and see how you like it 💘
This was really helpful Soph, I have had my eye on that nars blush and it shall be heading to my basket along with the elf primer and maybe the tinted moisturiser but I really struggled to get the right shade in the foundation and I now have a colour that makes me look like a ghost. I have to thank you for all the times you have used glisten cake liners because it made me bite the bullet and buy some because I flipping love graphic liner but have been too scared to try them for fear of getting it really wrong and people judging me for being 41 and in love with graphic liner, buy I did it, I bought 2 split liners, I'm taking them away with me and will be buying more when I am back from holiday, they are really great and I have you to thank for the inspiration ❤ hope you are having a great start to the week
i love the rare beauty tinted moisturiser! i use that as my every day foundation when i do makeup, and conceal areas needing more coverage! that and the l’oréal water tinted cream are more my style now than foundations! i also now need to get the nars blush😍
I love the Nars blush and its even more amazing because you can put this on on top of powder and it doesn't take any foundation or powder off from underneath! Xx
For under eyes, the Pat mcGrath under eye setting powder is my firm fave, no other powder has beaten it so far. I also liked the Givenchy powder as it doesn't alter my foundation and isn't drying either, smells nice too
Loved the video as per usual! The shape of the tinted moisturiser is so people with disabilities can open and hold the bottle easier, it's so clever, it's also why her blushes have that little ball on top. It's all to make it easier for people who struggle with dexterity. Danessa Myricks is an incredible makeup artist, she reminds me a lot of Pat McGrath as well, she has so many amazing products! Would love you to try some more of her products x
The eyeshadow reminds me of Kaima Cosmetics Chameleon flakes and multicromes. She's a small UK indie brand, I absolutely love her products. I prefer to mix mine with some mixing medium, seems to break the flakes down better, and/or use a glitter glue. They do look amazing over a dark base. Still stunning, though 😍
You're amazing Soph!! enough said haha - pleaaase do a look with that multichrome over black eyeshadow. it would look dope!!!! Do a full grunge look with it maybe!
That moisturizers is AMAZING!!!! Allie Glines turned me on to it like 2 years ago. A little goes a long way so the tube will last you 6-12 months & it moisturizes!!
When you’re in the middle of a soph binge and a new upload appears 😍 P.S I picked up the collection primer tint because of you and I love love love it. Thank you!
Aaahh so excited to see what you think of the ELF primer I’ve just picked it up to test on my channel too but I have really dry skin so interested to see how it is on different skin types 😍
With the multi chrome flakes works well over a dark liner. So I'll do a neutral light wash of a makeup look and use a black liner slightly winged and go over it with a multi chrome gel or eyeshadow to make that the statement look. I loveeeed the nars blush and tinted moisturizer. Thanks Sophie ❤
Ahhhhh! You finally got the ELF Power Grip there! I never tried the Milk Makeup (edit: couldn't remember the name) HydroGrip that it's a dupe of, but as a super oily skinned, sweaty girl, I am obsessed with the ELF version! It's ab-so-freaking-lutely incredible!
Hey Soph! Have you tried the halo glow setting powder from elf in light pink? When my dark circles are showing up more than usual I love using it on top of my concealer since the color helps with that. It looks lighter than the one you used in this video for sure and works well with my fair/light skin :)
Hi Soph! Ty for posting today❤️ My personal favorite pink powder is the Colourpop no filter loose setting powder in soft pink I have very fair skin and this works for me, hope this helps
Haha this came at the perfect time!!! This morning I was like “hmm I could really go for watching a new Soph video tonight” and BOOM, it was right there for me to watch when I got home!!
Try the light pink elf halo glow powder because that might be a lighter shade than the Ben nye one. I've been looking at buying that so I was wondering if that would work for my skin since We are sort of the same skin tone
Its SOOOO wild how this false rumour is STILL going around even when the brand themselves and Selena have confirmed this is not true. Please do some more research!
I nearly bought that Elf primer the other day but I didn't because I wasn't sure if it was any good. I'll definitely be picking it up now. Thanks Soph for always being my go to for recommendations 💛
@@maggieburgess9016 the putty feels very good on the skin BUT I feel like its drying my skin a bit too much. So I prefer the more tacky primers from ELF :)

Yes girl!!! My face turned yellow too! I thought it was just ME! 🤣 Maybe use that pink setting powder to set cream blush! 🤔 I'd LOVE to see you fix your makeup using that glitter eyeshadow over another shade to see what it looks like. 😉
That elf primer is BOMB. I have really oily skin in the summer & it doesn’t really help hold back the oils BUT it prolongs your foundation’s wear despite the oils. Even when I use a light formula like a serum foundation it helps so much with the coverage. I really like it for under the eyes too. I just can’t praise it enough. Lol
i am a ginger with extremely fair skin and i use the givenchy prism libre powder in Voile rose. Might be worth trying if you want a pink powder that is lighter and actually brightens fair skin.
I absolutely love this!! Soph your try on videos are my favourite they never go right for you but it comes right at the end!!!! Much love sweetheart 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I use lavender loose powder for my face because I’m pale and I have pretty red skin, and I struggle with having a red nose…I have done my whole life and used to get made fun of for it so using lavender instead has helped my dark circles, redness and I never see a purple cast on my face.
